First saw Madness in 1981, Logan Campbell Centre in New Zealand. I was 18, it was transformative. We left the UK, before they hit it big, then they came to me. They came from the wrong side of the River, as far as we were concerned back then, but the music fitted for me.
@@Carl-im9gh His marriage failed after 28 years and he had a breakdown. That might have something to do with it. I thought he was back with the boys now.
seen them twice recently, brilliant both times with or without Chas. Would be great to see him back but the voice of the band has and always will be Suggs.
I genuinely cannot remember what year but somewhere between 1998 and 2005, I was concert security at Hallam FM Arena in Sheffield, and I was lucky to be pit man at many big names, Meat Loaf, Iron Maiden, Timberlake, Beyonce, Simply red, Black Eyed Peas etc, but the one that sticks most is Madness, loved the show, although it had one bad part, some scumbag thought it was funny to throw a full large beaker of beer over into the mixing deck causing a bang cutting all sound, we had to wait while they got towels and a couple hair dryers to try and clean all the electrics, amazingly they managed to do it, the show went on.
@@othernicksweretaken Never got the guy, but the crew thought it was on purpose, as they were in a big argument with the BBC at the time and figured someone was screwing with them, I wouldn't have thought so but the BBC did a lot of illegal things at least in the past.
I was there. Elton John headlined. Not a cloud all day; my first proper all day festival : brilliant. Saw Madness in Dec 16, even better with a longer set and all the graphics that go with it. 👍
Why does everyone make ref to Chas it was his decision to leave and do the solo stuff all he does is the BVs dance and a bit of percussion he can come back anytime he likes....
What do you notice about this concert ? something that makes it less fun than their 1992 concert with less fans, MOBILE PHONES, so many too busy trying to record it instead of letting go and having fun.
Maybe they sound a little more slowlier than before? But anyway Madness are great :) Ich glaube die klingen irgendwie etwas langsamer und ruhiger.
As a bass player, I have to say that Mark Bedford is one of the most underrated players. His playing and tone is always spot on!
As a fellow bass player I can only agree.
he is basically perfect.
True! And also JJBURNEL from the Stranglers,no?
Suggs is always so dapper, they all are. One of the best British bands of all time.
So fun and amazing that band is still performe.
Love them from the early 80's and keep on till the fck end.
Never get tired of listening to madness! One of the best true British bands. Great live too 😍
To listening and watching them too😍
Me too it’s my music I listen to
2 years later - yes from a fucking German kraut. ;-) All of my friends love them. Since 1979, ;-)
My life would’ve been poorer without Madness

Madness 😎 💯
Madness are such a respectful band. They look after their crew. An amazing bunch of lads. They keep it real.

The sax on 'Embarrassment' is sublime. Gives me nostalgic chills.
Aye. Beautiful.
I've loved this band since the late 70's. A truly class act ❤❤
Quoting 'Goodfellas' in 'One Step Beyond', superb.
Brilliant band, Happy childhood memories, glad i saw them while they could still move around a bit on stage!!

just because they're getting older, it doesn't mean they should slow the tempo. compare then to now ruclips.net/video/SOJSM46nWwo/видео.html
Damn, cut the last song off why don't you... :-(
Sorry I'm not sure what happened, the original video has the whole song on.
