Hey everyone - the "Vampire Sanguinomicon" book that I talked about at the end of this video seems to be out of print. I bought it for under $30. Please don't spend more than that on a copy! I'm not sure why they are being listed as so expensive right now or why (if) it did go out of print. That's lame if it did!

Does that book or any of the others in this video have information about those blood-drinking shamans you talked about who believe the soul is in the blood?
I can't seem to find any source of information on this.

I live with chronic pain and a genetic blood disease. When I worked with the demon King Purson a few years back, I gave him blood as sacrifice, but I felt my blood was inferior because of my disease. One day I asked him about it. I asked him if my blood was worthy of him. Then, clear as day, I felt him say 'sacrifice is sacrifice.' It is the thought behind the act that counts. Because he can't experience life like we can, he experiences it through the essence. Ever since then, I've come to appreciate it. My particular illness is two-fold - it harms and it brings life. I can utilize it both ways when I need to.
Sorry for the long-winded comment, I don't think I've ever heard anyone talk about this aspect of subject, so I wanted to put my two cents in.

As an enchanter and glass/metal artist I have learned that some projects demand blood to get things to the energy level I want. I once saw an artist drawing of hands covered in cuts and bandages with plants growing from the wounds, it reminded me a lot of how I use blood magick. Lovely video Ivy

It was definitely not planned or studied as proper blood magic but I remember the very first "spell" I did with my wife was a mutual protection spell that came from the need to keep each other safe after we had a loss in the family that really shook our foundations. Part of it was a drop of blood we shared from each others. I can't imagine how problematic and anxiety inducing it must have been to make a video like this, and indeed to share it with a general audience to kudos and thanks for this Ivy 🙏🏽

I have health issues that make my blood 🩸 clot super fast (nightmare getting blood tests even with children’s needles) so it’s very difficult & painful to get a decent amount of blood with a lancet. Before becoming a Crone menstrual blood was much easier for me to gather.
Now, in most instances, instead of blood I swab my inner cheek to transfer my dna 🧬 for taglocks & I will also use spit in the ways I used to use blood. I do still use blood in a few situations where I do feel it is essential for me to do so.
    Great video Ivy 🖤

So sorry to hear about your health issues. That definitely makes things a lot harder! I have the opposite problem in that I don't menstruate at all due to my health issues so a finger prick is the only option 😂 We make do with what we have and that's okay! Spit is an excellent taglock!

So I have super sensitive gums and sometimes when I brush my teeth my gums bleed, so if I'm doing a spell or ritual and I want to incorporate my own blood into it I've been known to take a tissue and dab the blood from around my teeth and use the tissue in whatever work I'm doing. Has been 10/10 useful tbh.

I am diabetic, as well as a resident care aide, most of the lancing devices require you to put in a lancet (the little plastic item with a sharp end) before the device is ready. Yes, wash hands, but also use an alcohol wipe before and after. Washing your hands does not always sterilize the skin. You can get all of these supplies at most pharmacies in the diabetic care section. Also, you should have some sort of sharps container, for safety and health reasons. You can get them at a pharmacy as well as online. thank you so much for this video, it was very helpful and informative.

Informative and helpful! In my culture, my ancestors would use cloth that a woman had her period on as a way to keep out malevolent spirits. The reason was that period blood was seen as “dirty” so it scared them away but I think it’s because menstrual blood is so powerful since it represents the after effects of creation (birth) itself.

Thank you so much for covering this topic within the occult! Blood is my absolute #1 tool in magic - next to my own hair. Very potent! I love how you broke down each detail very thoroughly, it really sheds light on something that often seems to grim (which personally I love grim lol) I've always used a simple pin to extract my blood I used to use a knife but realized how unnecessary it was lol. I absolutely agree with the pain aspect, it is necessary and is a small price to pay. I've used blood magic on my talismans & sigils and they work beautifully! 🤘🍎🐍
Funny side note: because of my martial arts training, I often develop scabs on my knuckles from punching the makiwara (a conditioning tool) I usually just rip my scabs off and get the blood I need from that lol - yeah that $h!t hurts but it's worth it! 🤣

I haven't watched the whole video yet, but it saddens me to read the comments and your worry the general public will be upset about these topics. As long as you aren't harming anyone, then why the taboo on blood in general when it comes to witchcraft? Using your own blood? Who cares? My practice personally however is more towards lucid dreaming, astral work, spirits, nature and such but I still accept and respect we all have different paths and what works for us.

Love this video! I think people should be aware of how pricking their fingers in a graveyard is dangerous not only spiritually but as a biological hazard. I know of a pregnant woman who had a little hole in their finger, she went and cleaned her grandpa grave. 2-3 days later she had a sepsis (sorry if wrong, I’m not a native speaker ) and they both died. There’s literally little pieces of dead people and microorganisms there. Beyond that, i think 🩸is a important spiritual energy, it’s very used in the consecration of magick knifes and blades.

I use blood for taglocks, like for example linking a rune set I am making to me or a charm. I can not use needles though as I have extreme needle phobia so I either prick my finger with the tip of a scalpel, not something I recommend as it is allot less safe, or I just have my runes ready as when I accidentally nick a finger in the kitchen or something I mix blood with paint and then finish my runes.

One comment I do want to make is that bloodwork for ancestors is definitely dependent on your ancestral tradition - for example using it for Jewish or Abrahamic ancestors would not go over well (in my experience).
From my spiritual framework (Solomonic magic), I am personally heavily against blood in any spirit work or pact creation because of how powerful it is. You can have pacts that are powerful and personal without it (and my hot take it that doing so means you are being lazy and unwilling to put forth the effort of creating and maintaining a two-way spirit relationship).
Kudos to you, Ivy, for discussing a controversial topic!

I would prefer to use sea men since it's very close to blood, in my opinion. I agree with the menstrual blood not really being a sacrifice since it happens very often. I would say someone who is having brain fog or something like that should not do blood magick. I have been changing my Dad's dialysis wounds A LOT lately and almost everytime I think "I could use this in spells" 😂🤣😂🤣I haven't though.

This is so interesting, because I view menstral blood as almost like a "first born child" type of offering. It has the potency of creation in it and I've used it very effectively for manifestation in the sphere of creation. I think it just depends on your own relationship with your cycle and perspective on the blood itself.

    It's a hard question, it's possible your video on Blood Magick may have a lot of thumbs down by the general public who happen onto this video;

Really good video (: thank you for this. Ive been wanting to do blood magick for a long time. However I believe there is a lot more sacred powerful symbolism to using menstrual blood magick. There is so much beautiful symbolism that is also potent and magical with menstral blood. Because menstral blood is the product of what the female body does to prepare the womb space for the creation of all life. That is sacred. Not to mention our menstrual blood connects us to our sacred divinity femininity, our sensuality, sexuality, our passions, our creativity, our fertility. It also connects us to Mother Earth as each phase of the menstral cycle is energetically the same as a season. And allows you to connect to mother moon and the 4 major moon phases . It connects you to spirit, it connects you to the wild woman within. Their is so much sacredness and beautiful symbolism to the menstrual cycle, and can absolutely be used for empowerment, confidence, self love, connects to the dark feminine, connect to your inner wisdom from the womb connects you to your maternal bloodline , connecting to mother earth, and mother moon . The fact that we can bleed so profusely and not collapse in death is sacred itself. And there is absolutely warrior energy to menstrual blood. When I shed this from my body, my body produces extreme back pains and cramps, and the patricharcal society and made it so that we have to tough our way through those pains and work/go to school as if we weren't dying inside. Women who expierence serious menstraul symptoms are absolute warriors because they have to be moms, be waitress, work always, nurses, doctors, as if they aren't going through serious things with their body. That is warrior queen energy. An alchemy of both the feminine and masculine. It is a symbol of strength. Even if its not fresh, It's primitive, it is raw, sacred. Menstraul blood is powerful, it was said that some prevous cultures would isolate women while they were menstrating so that they could connect with the divine. Just wanted to give another perspective (: ❤ love your videos !!

For super reals tho…I really respect and love that you don’t shy away from topics that might make the majority ‘uncomfortable’ or aren’t spoken of often. PLUS, just because majority doesn’t ‘talk’ about a certain subject, that DOES NOT mean no one’s doing it!! Sharing your thoughts, tips, perspectives, and safety advice surrounding something as potent & magical as Blood Magick is immensely important work (I think at least 😂🤷‍♀️)! Thanks for being ‘you’ ♥️ always, all ways

I love how informative and intriguing your videos are. Thank you for doing this subject justice and also using the caution you did. I hope everyone can be mature in the comment section and use the same amount of caution when using this practice. I really loved your input about what kinds of blood to use in different circumstances as some of those haven't occurred to me, even after having read up on the subject and using it here and there. And just in case it isn't said enough, I appreciate you!

In hellenic context blood magick for the act of devotion isn't really a thing, it is seen as miasmic (spiritual pollution) as was in the sense of religiosity seen as a bad thing to go by a shrine. Romans were wishy-washy surrounding blood sacrifice (see the seminar about lady bellona in this year's touta galation comreton). But in many other pagan cultures blood was used more (still not as usual as Hollywood seems to make it)

You mentioned that you had experience in at least researching Solomonic magick before. I would love a video introducing the basic principles or possibly what the system is about? I am fascinated by ceremony magick, but it is extremely difficult to find objective perspectives when researching this system.

One of the rituals I perform The Red Mass, which is an eucharistic ritual to Babalon similar to the Mass of The Phoenix, requires blood placed in the wine prior to consumption. I use a lancet to extract the blood and generally use three drops.

I consider this topic way too advanced for me as a baby witch who is more inclined to herbs, crystals and the light easy stuff lol. But I really appreciate the way you approach everything in a very neutral and respectful manner. Thank you for that. Paganism and occultism is no place for taboos imo.

Definitely don't do anything that you're uncomfortable with. But for reference I started doing magick in 2019 and I've already done some blood magick.
The main thing I've done was the black book ritual in weaving fate. It's not in any way negative, just a really fucking powerful hypersigil. (So I guess it could be negative if you desire to use it that way) but yeah. I'd say be careful but also don't hold yourself back unless you really need to.

Ivy, what do you think of an individual adding drops of their own🩸to war water (made as a form of holy water w/iron powder or slack/slag water from our local blacksmiths if I can get it!) This is something I would use only for banishing and or warding, with a focus on Spiritual Dominion and blocking nasty paranormal entities. Could it be used in a witch bottle for the same reason? Thank you for insight!

Thank you for your amazing videos. They help me out so much. Maybe I'll use blood later in my practice aswell, who knows. Ofcourse as I am not that far in my practice and do struggle with sh, it is not a good idea at all to use it now, but I do find it interesting. So thank you again for your videos.
I hope you have an awesome day :)
    One (off topic) question:
What is that song on the end, the instrumental one?
I love that sm, I need that in my playlist haha.

Thank you for sharing this very controversial topic! I have not yet done this type of magic or ritual yet but have always been interested! Part of the reason is because I get queezy seeing my own blood 🤣 lol I can’t even watch when blood gets drawn at the drs lol. But maybe it would be different if I was doing it 🤔 but haven’t dared to try yet 😂. Thank you Ivy! Your so awesome

Oh my goodness. I can’t believe you posted this masterpiece. Thank you, Ivy. I have a question regarding safety of the consumption of blood. Would it be safe to bake something when the whole batch has one or two drops of blood? Not sure how blood bacteria works, as it is further in the body and might be more resistant to heat, but I know that normally, you can kill bacteria by boiling/cooking, so I’m curious if I decided to let’s say, make a batch of cookies with one or two drops of my blood as an offering to Hades, would it also be safe for me to consume?
Would scab blood work fine or would the pain be null, so it’s not as strong? As someone who has a habit of picking my scabs, I’m curious if it would work?

I had a terrible experience with my partner after showing them this video and the one about energy vampyrism with one of your lovely guests. They tried taking my energy during a love making session without permission after coming home from college. They succeeded it felt nice at first but this was a major lesson that Something my feel good but your body can still register it as trauma And trauma isn't soul or spirit connecting at all after what transpired next. After my research into spirituality/the craft/ everything magical, I know that I am not a super sensitive soul that is the only person who could have experienced something so perspective shattering and painful. A lot of things we do as humans aren't necessarily progressive but on this kind of plateau. It may work for you and your path, There is multiple paths to get where we are all going. I just wanted to share this so that whenever I stubble upon your videos I don't have the worst attachment to them and in case anyone out there wen't through a similar dark night of the soul situation. Your a great creator and I don't want to send any bad vibes to you. You seem always ready to learn and pleasant.

Question - Do you have to use fresh blood every time, or could you just smear a large amount of blood on a notecard, let it dry, and then cut it into small squares to use whenever you want to do a ceremony?
Usually if a get a random injury or nosebleed I'll keep the blood on a notecard. I'm just wondering if the blood loses its magic if the same batch was already used for a previous magic working, and I need to use a fresh batch of blood every time.

Regarding using menstrual blood, I have worked with it to deep and meaningful results, and find it to be incredibly valuable in certain types of rituals and practices. In my experience and due to what the particular tissues released from our body are meant for as they were created, it holds powerful energies of fertility, hope, nurturing and support, connecting and bonding, welcoming and bringing in the new, creation and the liminal, and of course Divine Feminine essence. I personally don´t associate period blood with discarding (even if it´s eventually discarded) but rather with the energy for which it was created. Otherwise, we would not be using many things in magical practice such as discarded animal remains such as antlers, feathers or discarded plant matter like branches etc. However, I do agree that period blood is not appropriate as a blood sacrifice. In many traditions, it has been used and revered as a woman´s sacred bond to the womb of the Earth (as that is where our period blood ultimately ends up anyway), a way that our female ancestors energetically and symbolically connected to the land and Earth in a way that men could not.

I did a blood magic spell with my Ex Boyfriend but we only used a little blood and it was just a needle pick on are finger and we both are hands together and that was all we did!!!!!!!!!!
I feel like I should point out that when I did this I was new to the craft but my Ex had been doing witchcraft since he was 19 and he was in his 40's and I believe what he was saying to me and I would never just give my blood or take someone's blood unless that where my lover and we had already been together for a while
