i know Im asking randomly but does someone know of a method to get back into an instagram account?? I somehow forgot the password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me!
I recently ordered the 645N and it should be here today. I am very excited about getting this camera. I do have medium format experience. In the Army I used a Mamiya 67Z and a Hasselblad. At one time I owned the Pentax 6x7. I am getting back into shooting film after years of shooting digital only. I started with film back in the mid 80s. I have rediscovered my love of film and the whole process. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for making this nice vid! do you have more photos of the 45mm lens? I'm looking to get one but from the video it doesn't look that sharp, could be casued by the video not showing the full image quality
Just got the same setup with the 45mm lent to me by a good friend really excited to try it out man! And I seriously can’t wait to see more videos of you with this system! Lomo 800 is the truth man!
I dig how you are able to use the camera with its autofocus to shoot as a walk around rig. I schlep around a Pentax 6x7, and every frame feels like a bit of a production, haha.
Part of the beauty of the 6x7 though. But yeah, being able to be a little more nimble and quick with the 645n is the main reason behind buying it in the first place.
Big praise for your engagement going through the comments and maintaining the conversation through your videos. The 75mm A is only underrated by people not having a Pentax 645 system yet. The Pentax 645n was introduced with the A lens. They would not have done it if it was a poor performer. You need to get the 35mm. 🙂 It might be one of their best lenses. Again A and FA are great optically.
Hey men, Thanks for the great video, I'm loving 645, I'm wondering if you tried the 55mm 2.8 fa hd. I love the 75 FA and wonder if the 45mm 2.8 FA if up to par. Thanks again for the great video!
I got the same lenses but the manual 45mm for my 645 . All are amazing lenses incredible valuable!! I want the 645n for the timer so I can take some self portraits
I notice exposure and lens data was imprinted on the side of the negative, is that a feature of the camera? The autofocus lens must have electronic contacts to communicate the data between lens and data.
When I use The Auto Focus Feature, how can I recompose without the focus moving. Thats been my only frustration with this system. AF works great if you want your focus dead center frame... But if not as soon as You Recomp, the focus does its own thing. Great Video!!
The main complaint I've heard with the 45mm 2.8 is that it needs to be stopped down quite a bit in order to render a nice image... I disagree, but it's what I've heard.
Really like your way of talking and structuring the video! I´m sorry but I have to say these pictures seem kind of soft to me..? colors of the lomo 800 are pure fire.
That 150 F3.5 is extremely good, indeed. And cheap. Not a big fan of the focus aid sound on the 645N. It's nowhere as precise as the split prism in the original manual focus Pentax 645. I went for the 2x eye finder magnifier, which helps a lot when focussing manually. I really helps nailing focus on close portraits. About that 45mm, I also read about those less positive reviews. The 55 seems to be better. Good for you the 45mm works fine. I must say the scans you show are not the most highest quality (detail wise but the blues are extremely oversaturated - might be your own editing of course), so maybe that's the reason the lens is enough for you. Which is totally fine of course. I always check my MF lenses on my Nikon Z6 with an cheap adapter. Much easier & faster to compare sharpness in a high res RAW file.
Yeah it seems to be always sold out everywhere, but that’s just because the secret is out and everyone loves it. Klaus is such a great name for him, fits him perfectly.
I love that Lomo 800. Especially in my Holga, or even respooled onto a 620 spool for a Vintage Kodak. BTW, word on the street Lomo 800 is made by Kodak.
I'm trying to get an idea of the IQ of these negatives but I don't know why are these images so different in clarity from Kyle McDougal's photos? Is it the scanning technique or something?
Actually PRO400H is at its best when underexposed at iso 800 and pushed +1 in dev. Really, the reds and greens you get are out of this world! (not trying to plug, but there are some shots like this st my IG echo.journal)
More in the sense that it’s not in production anymore :/ I was lucky to pick up a pack of 5 at retail before the supplies ran and out people were spiking the prices of what was left.
Do you guys wanna see me shoot different types pf film with this camera? lemme know what you wanna see.
Yes definitely more lomo 800 and as well as 400 and 100! Definitely would like to see them in a portrait setting!
@@Dre_On_Film great idea!
You said so in the video but some slide film would be great!

Great photos man! I have an original 645 in the post + 75 2.8, excited to shoot!
Hope your health is on the up and up!
it was a blast dude! video came out great
Thanks man. We gotta do this more often.

the one between the branches really came thru with all the colors and the vibe. top shooter.
the super clamp is BADASS
Haha thank you thank you. I appreciate it.

Thanks my dude!! I’m excited you get to shoot the same kit!
To shoot lomo at 800 or?
"What's going on, I'm not even 35 yet!" Lol. Wait til you;re 50 and you'll think you're losing your mind haha

Agreed! And thank you. I haven’t tried the 35mm yet, I may have to check that out...
The 645n is a pretty good camera with a decent line up of lenses. Good choice.
Too bad I have to get rid of mine 😢

The 45mm f/2.8 was my favorite lens for thesystem by far.
I got the same lenses but the manual 45mm for my 645 . All are amazing lenses incredible valuable!! I want the 645n for the timer so I can take some self portraits
Dude the self time is so useful.
Switched from the Pentax 67 to this camera and I don’t regret it!
I need both if I’m being honest....haha
Got recommended this channel since I was subbed to Sam and it threw me of seeing him in the vid lmao but glad I subbed. You’re refreshing.
Haha thanks man! Appreciate the support
I keep seeing mixed focal lengths on the 45mm. Most places say its a 35.5mm equivalent. ive seen the 28mm equivalent as well. not sure which it is?
It’s closer to a 28 I believe.
This camera is definitely one I'm going to be re-buying in the future. Hope the drive was/is safe! Also, taking notes about the 400H at 320 ...
You should def buy one so we can be twins
Pentax 645N squad. 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
SQUAD
Awesome video! I need to try the lomo films, they have definitely caught my eye.
Definitely do it.
i'm def a portra 160 fan. when you live in a rly sunny place it's nice to have lower speed films imo
Agreed. I think my change in locale is making more sense for Portra 160
Love the Pentax 645n & that X-Files poster. 👌🏻
I printed that poster out myself. It’s literally printed on printer paper haha
@@ThePhotoDept that just makes it even better. I used to have all three different ones. 😂
Man, I’m all about the fanny pack life when out and about. I like your style, dig the shots. Thanks for the video
Dude thank you!!
Great shots! Where did you get your Lomo 800? it seems to always be sold out everywhere I check
I ordered mine directly from the Lomo website.
I think I shot about 8 rolls through the 645n before I realized it was printing the metadata on the bottom on the frame. Gotta say, love the feature.
It’s so friggin cool. I can’t imagine wanting to turn it off.
Glad you finally made it to Griffith Observatory! What iso do you shoot Lomo 800 at?
I shot the Lomo at 400!
nice Sleepwalk sling!
Great shots dude! I think 645 is the sweet spot for medium format film photography
I really have to agree there.
I notice exposure and lens data was imprinted on the side of the negative, is that a feature of the camera? The autofocus lens must have electronic contacts to communicate the data between lens and data.
That’s a feature of the camera! I guess I forgot to mention it. But I love it.
Bro if you come through arizona at all It'd be a blast to go out and shoot with ya!
I don’t think I’ll have time on this trip but sometime in the future!
Great vid, as always. Travel safe!
Thanks friend!

Gotta make sure you’re not I. Continuous autofocus!
@@ThePhotoDept Thanks! had it Servo instead of Single
Weird stretch but you said Canada. Did you get it from McBain? And if so, how'd you get them to ship it to you? Also, is that a Leica Q on Samuel?
The camera is from KEH. The lenses were from a private seller in Canada from Facebook Marketplace. And nice eye! That is indeed a Leica Q.
The main complaint I've heard with the 45mm 2.8 is that it needs to be stopped down quite a bit in order to render a nice image... I disagree, but it's what I've heard.
People often say stupid things.
Which scanner are you using?
Epson V550 with the Lomo Digitaliza trays.
does the camera project the metadata of each exposure on the side of the negative?
Yep
Really like your way of talking and structuring the video! I´m sorry but I have to say these pictures seem kind of soft to me..? colors of the lomo 800 are pure fire.
I mean, you should take into consideration RUclips compression.
@@ThePhotoDept do you have them posted somewhere online?
@@dazNilo a few of them are posted on my instagram page.
@@ThePhotoDept indeed, they appear to be much sharper on instagram.
@diwefioawegjiaoegcen if you view the images not on a video, they are very sharp.
you're tempting me to sell my Mamiya c330 and look into one of these...
Keep the Mamiya and save up for one of these. That c330 is so sick.
@@ThePhotoDept I do love the c330. A lot of my favourite shots were taken with it and I like shooting square sometimes.
Focus confirmation in tandem with manual focus lenses? Gnarly.
Hell yeah it’s so sick

what do people say about the 45mm?
@@qiuhongyu5494 It's regarded as the least sharpest of the Pentax 645 lenses, I believe. Which could still be sharp enough for you, of course.
Lomo 800 looks great. every time i want to buy some the stuff is sold out. 😆 I like that your girlfriend has called the dog KLAUS.
Yeah it seems to be always sold out everywhere, but that’s just because the secret is out and everyone loves it. Klaus is such a great name for him, fits him perfectly.
This did nothing at all to cure my GAS for a Pentax 645n. Not good. 10/10.
I’m really really sorry (no I’m not)
I love that Lomo 800. Especially in my Holga, or even respooled onto a 620 spool for a Vintage Kodak. BTW, word on the street Lomo 800 is made by Kodak.
I’ve heard that word. Not sure if it’s true but seems like it!
Mannnn, if I could get my hands on a Pentax 645…
I highly recommend you do.
" It's nice to confirm your reasoning for spending almost a grand on a film camera " lol took me a while to blow 3k on a Mamiya 7II + 1 lens lol.
It’s so much money
I'm trying to get an idea of the IQ of these negatives but I don't know why are these images so different in clarity from Kyle McDougal's photos? Is it the scanning technique or something?
We use completely different techniques to scan, as well as completely different scanners.

Oh well I’m gonna have to try that!! (Cool work btw)
Lmfao I love it that the dogs name is Klaus.
also Porta 160 is great, it’s cheaper and has finer grain. I think it’s got nicer T O N E Z too.
I need to learn how to consistently unlock the T O N E Z.
The untethered Pentax sitting on that railing ...... 😬!!
It was fine! I promise.
RIP Fuji Pro400h
I will never rip

Spiffy glases
