@protokino -- I'm surprised but delighted that your #1 most desired film site is SFO City Hall. We lived in the City in the late 1970's until 1985, when we moved down the Coast. My wife and I were married in City Hall during a wet Dec. of 1979. I drove a Yellow Cab for three years while finishing an engineering degree at SFSU, so I got to know those sites very well. Yes, there were planters and benches on that walkway, as you are near one of the better Italian seafood restaurants in the City, Scoma's. Many of the top restaurants in SFO, called The City by old time residents, the best restaurants of that time are now gone, the most famous of which was Ernie's Restaurant that was featured in the Hitchcock film, Vertigo. I understand that Hitchcock had his art director recreate Ernie's interior in an LA studio. I know that Hitchcock hated to work where he couldn't control everything. Even Mt. Rushmore was built in studio for his 1954 classic. Thanks for the fun video. Another location was a house where Bond girl was being held hostage? It's on Crystal Lake Reservoir, in western San Mateo, South of the Hiway 92 bridge. 92 climbs the moun 5:23 tain pass on its way to King Mtn and Woodside, or 'over the hill' to Half Moon Bay.The reservoir is fed from a pipeline designed after the great 1906 Earthquake and fire. The pipeline brings fresh water from Hetch-Hetchy reservoir, high in the Sierras above Yosemite NP to thirsty San Franciscans and Peninsula residents. Crystal Lake was constructed smack dab in the middle of the San Andreas fault. The home is historic, originally built by one of the City's early industrialists, and now a California State Park. I never enjoyed that Bond film, but because your work reminded me of my old home -- where I left my heart -- I'll give it another viewing. If I recognize another landmark scene, I'll let you know. 🧙🏼♂️
PROTOKINO -- here's some more background on the SAN FRANCISCO LOCATIONS on 'A VIEW TO A KILL' ... as I worked as an Assistant Location Manager early on into principle photography. 1) YES -- the BENCHES were already there at FISHERMAN'S WHARF. 2) THE TRANSAMERICA BUILDING EXTERIORS was shot on a very cold day by the 2nd Unit. 3) DIRTY HARRY and also THE ENFORCER were shot INTERIOR CITY HALL. 4) THE FIRE AT CITY HALL -- was orchestrated by Oscar winning Special Effects genius and all-round Gentleman, JOHN RICHARDSON. Christopher Walken, 'MAX ZORAN' was not filmed in San Francisco at all. David Bowie was originally slated to play, 'MAX ZORAN' ... but he wanted script approval. Only a few people had that right ... Mr. Moore being one of them. Mr. Walken's scenes were shot at Pinewood. 5) THE 3RD STREET BRIDGE SEQUENCE -- was invented by the Director, John Glen whilst on a Location Scout. The Police Cars destroyed at the bridge were already junkers basically totaled in all of the month long 2nd Unit stuff and seen in what was called, 'The Market Street Chase.' 6) THE MARKET STREET CHASE -- The Fire Truck was bought used for $150K and then made 'Movie Ready' with super safety by John Richardson's Team in mind for the Stunt Drivers. It was then shipped to Pinewood Studios where they did the rear projection filming of Mr. Moore ( a Prince-!! ) and Ms. Roberts. There's more .... but I'd like to see if you're interested. D.A.

I know this wasn't the highest grossing or best Bond film ever but the fact that Christopher Walken and Duran Duran and The Big SF are in this ( Bay Area Guy ) makes it one of my favorites!!
I was in Civic Center Plaza across from the fire trucks watching the filming of the City Hall fire scene. The next night I got hired as an extra and drove my van down the street perpendicular to the 3rd Street bridge. We were a group of 9 cars that drove on that street for each take.
I've watched about 5 of your videos just now. All very good and very good editing, cutting back and forth between the movie scene and how the location is now. I've subscribed. Look forward to future ones.
Thanks so much! I'm on a bit of a break from location videos but I have Blade Runner, Basic Instinct and Seven locations filmed, ready to edit. Currently working on my first video essay.
Chevron dock in San Francisco for the establishing shots and the Pinewood (England) pumping station for the interiors. Exteriors on the dock with the actors were done on a soundstage at Pinewood Studios.
So ur informed about a James Bnd movie being set up,,,right and ur to close your windows ,,right??? so wat happenened ?/ really u forgot to close the window..?? thats suspicious,,lol

0:51 Same general area where a part of Full House initial seasons intro was filmed.
It’s a cable car or a motorized one as the turntable is several blocks away.
Supposedly when Roger Moore found out he was older then Tanya Roberts mother it helped him decide it was time to stop playing 007 .
Yes, I heard that too!
