The last sentence, the "Castle with the mighty walls" is actually one of the cemeteries of Rome. It is practically the cemetery that is near the Sapienza University of Rome, it is called Verano, if you look for photos on the internet you can see why Damiano calls it Castello. Verano is a monumental cemetery, and it really looks like a castle. The song refers to a personal story of Damiano, Coraline was a person who really existed, but Damiano did not mention the person's name for privacy and because the girl's story was not his to tell. Damiano paints Coraline as a princess, whose prince, however, fails to save her and there is actually no happy ending.

caroline is just superlative with strings as well. Too moving. No words. Damiano writes all the lyrics (sometimes with Ethan) and the others compose music. They met at junior high school, they were baskers and played in the streets of rome and underground clubs. Please check their many songs. All of them bear their signature. They are all around their 20s. I would suggest you listen to Vent'anni, La paura de Buio, Torna a Casa, Amandoti, practically there is a long list. Don't know if watched the AMA awards with their cover of "bEGGIN'". cHECK OUT all their awards including Eurovision contest, sanremo 2021, All songs have english subtitles. Take care.

This performance was at Sanremo which is a huge music festival/contest. Sanremo is famous for having an orchestra accompliament This was their return performance after winning last year.
Happy to see new Måneskin fans and watch you experience all their wonderful music. My favorites are La paura di buio, Le Parole Lontane, Morirò da Re for Italian and Chosen and Wanna Be Your Slave for English songs. The video for Torna a Casa is a true masterpiece work of art.

Great reaction! I have heard this song probably a hundred times and I have watched this performance many times and I still can't get through it without tears. 🥲
It was written for his long time girlfriend, who had a troubled past. They kept the identity of Coraline secret for a couple of years, but she recently admitted he wrote it for her. He is always very emotional when he sings it and she was in the audience that night.
Actually, his girlfriend made him write it about someone they both knew.

Damiano’s girlfriend, Giorgia, in a recent interview said that a dear friend of her had a tragic end, so finally it’s clear to me that this friendship inspired Damiano to write Coraline and dedicated to Giorgia. That’s why he said “ thank Giorgia for to have inspired me for Coraline “.
Hello Florence, I guess between them they still want to keep up the mystery. I did watch the interview where she admitted to the interviewer that she had asked Damiano if she could reveal that it was her. I was rather shocked because I had thought that Må still wanted to keep the identity secret. In an American interview, Damiano stated that Coraline was someone they knew and the interviewer asked if she minded that this song had been written about and he said no and that she thought it was beautiful and art.
More questions, but definitely a gorgeous emotional ballad.

around the world and doing warm up for Rolling Stones in US. Here they were back
in Italy as national superheroes, very very emotional for Damiano, the singer. Peace.

@@valentinablumberg4212 я думаю, что Дамиано сам разберётся с тем, что для него лучше и с кем ему лучше, он взрослый и если бы его она не устраивала, то он бы с ней не был на протяжении долгого времени. Несчастным он рядом с ней никак не выглядит.
По поводу вашей оценки его девушки и её творчества, напишу вещь хоть и банальную, но в данном случае она как нельзя лучше описывает ваше жалкое поведение - в вас говорит обычная зависть и личная неприязнь. Не склонна писать о зависти, но в данном случае её душок прям ничем не перебить.

Не знаю, точнее, могу только догадаться, чем она его держит ( и кстати, не так уж давно, судя по датам тех фото и видео, которые уже удалил из Facebook тот самый пожилой фотограф 😬) ,
но ни его голосу, ни его спокойствию, ни физической красоте эта странная история "отношений" никак не помогает, скорее наоборот 🥺
И это меня раздражает и даже пугает...что происходит, ведь остальные ребята в прекрасной форме, со своей простой и понятной личной жизнью, а тут ...

Great review guys! This is an amazing piece. Gets me misty eyed also. Yes check out more of their catalog, they are good, talented, and can do so many genres well. The whole package. I’m an old rocker. My best comparison is they are a modern version of Queen. I’ve become obsessed with their music, and love Italy anyway. Hope to see them live in Miami in December.

Lots of people say it’s about someone Damiano knew but it could be about Beatrice Cenci.
It's mostly about his girlfriend illness: vulvar vestibulitis, vulvodynia, pudendal nerve. It's not about abuse or suicide. This disease is very insidious and devious, very painful physically, physically and psychologically incapacitating.

As an Italian, the word "misera" is translated wrong, it's not poor, here it means "common", "stupid" it's a methaphor, like an easy door to open in normal circumstances but that she can't open because of her fragility. I like that part because it shows how pain, depression and anxiety are usually devalued by people.
This is a hard song about incest, it builds with a rushing crescendo full of power. It seems that Damiano was inspired by a true story of a Roman girl who became pregnant with a father and, after having an abortion from her, she committed suicide in order not to suffer any more violence.

Bella reazione .... Alcune curiosità su questa canzone ... Damiano ( il cantante ) l'ha scritta ispirato dalla sua fidanzata che ha problemi di salute da tanto tempo e credo che la metafora di questa canzone stia nell'impotenza di chi sta vicino a persone che stanno male di poterle aiutare ... Un'altra chiave di lettura di questo testo può essere considerare Caroline come il nome da dare alla depressione , infatti se si prendono le varie strofe singolarmente possiamo facilmente trovarle nella vita di tutti i giorni ... Dalla bambina di genitori divorziati col cuore diviso a metà alla persona depressa che non ha la forza neanche di uscire di casa ( ma che un giorno ci riuscirà .. quando morirà purtroppo ) alla donna vittima di abuso alla donna che subisce un aborto ... Ogni strofa porta in sottofondo come conseguenza la depressione 😢 fino alla strofa finale dove "il castello con mura potenti " altro non è se non il cimitero 😩 dove spesso chi soffre di depressione crede di trovare come unica soluzione alla depressione la propria morte ...
