Sir, your podcasts make me forget netflix .. I especialy love it whenever you talk about Indian tourism..India has all it takes and more to become a tourism hub. Why indian politicians dont consider it is beyond me. Along with the spiritual aspects (yoga, ayurveda, meditation), Indian tourism could be advertised in a way which attracts tourists that want the experience of visiting "different countries"( diversity in indian cultures: architecture, language, art, climate from north to south, east to west) on just one visa. I mean one can be glorifying the royal forts in rajasthan, witness the marvelous ancient temples in the south on hot sunny weather, enjoy the beaches in Goa and go skiing in uttrakhand or kashmir within days!
Well politics is certainly to be blamed but Bharat as a nation is not like the western countries. There are a TON of bad dynamics playing out. People have to rise. Lets take a very small recent example: When Baba Ramdev favored Ayurveda and challenged the Indian Medical Association on the efficacy of modern medicine, the doctors went out of their wits and wished criminal proceedings against him. As a Tamizhan, I accept to the Two Language system, Sanskrit is had been the Official language of TamilNadu (and entirety of greater India) for 100s of 1000s of years. Sanskrit is the only language that has the Qualification to be the National of the Bharath, not English nor Hindi (which is like 50% Urdu, consequence of the Mughal period).

Rightly said. I live in a Hindi speaking state. The quality of Hindi is deteriorated over time. The Hindi my grandfather (and generations before him) used to speak and write is nowhere today. Our generation speaks more than 50 % Urdu in name of Hindi, without even realising it. The most important factor which contributed to this was Media, Bollywood and basically whole popular culture. Hindi news channels to Hindi films in post-independence India projected Sanskrit language words as backward and replaced them with "modern" Urdu words. Various beautiful Hindi words are now completely lost and substituted by Urdu ( which in turn borrowed them from Persian or Arabic). So basically we are speaking most of the words from Persian or Arabic in name of Hindi.
Bro I agree 100% ..I m from Hindi belt patna..but if two languages that can be our national language sanskrit or Tamil... surprisingly all southern states languages are more close to Sanskrit than even Hindi or urdu is to Sanskrit.. Interestingly ...these premises for a"sound education system "...was indeed implemented.....in the recent past. Tagore set up the Vishwa Bharathi ....where holistic education was imparted...a specific wing /annex was also set up for development in agriculture to be able to be of use to the villages. Creativity was abound and the ashram pratha was the basis...[it's still called by the name Ashram even today]. Totally built on family property and family finances..... .it flourished but the financial parameters got exhausted after an illustrious period...and UGC took over...and that was the killing of the basic premise / spirit.

Most children drop out of school in class 9 due to Maths, we have only 73% kids who are class 10 pass. Maths is the reason, and like rightly pointed out,basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, simple interest and basic geometry is all that is needed in real life which one completes by class 5 or 6 max- those who are meant for science subjects need to pass maths with higher marks.... So passing maths should not be compulsory till class 10; moment we have over 90% kids pass class 10 abd over 50% pass class 12 (as of now only 12% pass class 12 in our country)-: our human resource quality will improve.... We need after that over 30% graduates, as of now 8% .... That's why we are so behind the rest of the world

My two cents on corruption, when we start knowing the actual definition of Professionalism and start practicing it, it could mitigate corruption. People most of the times do not do their jobs (especially in Government Sectors) the ones who do their jobs good, they act like they are superior and doing some 'ahsaan' by working. It's your job! So by doing it, you are getting paid, what else do you expect from it!

Indians have a global advantage due to proficiency in English. So we must promote correct teaching of Sanskrit plus the state language plus English. Indians are learning Japanese, French, Chinese and German. Americans learn Spanish.

The education system is in the grip of terribly mediocre and corrupt bureaucrats. They have high positions due to reasons other than merit. So reforms in a true sense don't happen. Hello, I am a kannadiga from karnataka, things are not as bad as you have described. I can read and write in English and Kannada very well hindi i can read and speak good, sanskrit is Devanagari like hindi anyway, it just has to be encouraged a bit more.
Before we could do this, we shall abolish monetisation of anything and impractical, bureaucratic polity of our country. This is the main reason for all the problems in the country( including our so-called good education system in the 21st century)

Kudos to Abhijit sir for raising this subject. I gave up long ago. I even tell the kids in my family to Escape. Go abroad get educated if you want to LIVE, but if you wanna Exist as a dead. Stay here and become a Zombie. I'm not against the Nation, but with this system I see no hope. And Change won't be coming anytime soon. That's certain. If I had the power, I would rescue the innocence the untouched i.e the young kids from this EVIL SYSTEM. Probably send them all, ALL OF THEM. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM, to Countries with Good Educational models. As an exchange program or trade off. Sir, your podcasts make me forget netflix .. I especialy love it whenever you talk about Indian tourism..India has all it takes and more to become a tourism hub. Why indian politicians dont consider it is beyond me. Along with the spiritual aspects (yoga, ayurveda, meditation), Indian tourism could be advertised in a way which attracts tourists that want the experience of visiting "different countries"( diversity in indian cultures: architecture, language, art, climate from north to south, east to west) on just one visa. I mean one can be glorifying the royal forts in rajasthan, witness the marvelous ancient temples in the south on hot sunny weather, enjoy the beaches in Goa and go skiing in uttrakhand or kashmir within days!

As a Tamizhan, I accept to the Two Language system, Sanskrit is had been the Official language of TamilNadu (and entirety of greater India) for 100s of 1000s of years. Sanskrit is the only language that has the Qualification to be the National of the Bharath, not English nor Hindi (which is like 50% Urdu, consequence of the Mughal period).
Exactly shudh hindi is closest to sanskrit, but today hindi has been infiltrated by arabic, parsi, urdu.

Rightly said. I live in a Hindi speaking state. The quality of Hindi is deteriorated over time. The Hindi my grandfather (and generations before him) used to speak and write is nowhere today. Our generation speaks more than 50 % Urdu in name of Hindi, without even realising it.
The most important factor which contributed to this was Media, Bollywood and basically whole popular culture. Hindi news channels to Hindi films in post-independence India projected Sanskrit language words as backward and replaced them with "modern" Urdu words. Various beautiful Hindi words are now completely lost and substituted by Urdu ( which in turn borrowed them from Persian or Arabic). So basically we are speaking most of the words from Persian or Arabic in name of Hindi.
Bro I agree 100% ..I m from Hindi belt patna..but if two languages that can be our national language sanskrit or Tamil... surprisingly all southern states languages are more close to Sanskrit than even Hindi or urdu is to Sanskrit..

Most children drop out of school in class 9 due to Maths, we have only 73% kids who are class 10 pass. Maths is the reason, and like rightly pointed out,basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, simple interest and basic geometry is all that is needed in real life which one completes by class 5 or 6 max- those who are meant for science subjects need to pass maths with higher marks.... So passing maths should not be compulsory till class 10; moment we have over 90% kids pass class 10 abd over 50% pass class 12 (as of now only 12% pass class 12 in our country)-: our human resource quality will improve.... We need after that over 30% graduates, as of now 8% .... That's why we are so behind the rest of the world

My two cents on corruption, when we start knowing the actual definition of Professionalism and start practicing it, it could mitigate corruption. People most of the times do not do their jobs (especially in Government Sectors) the ones who do their jobs good, they act like they are superior and doing some 'ahsaan' by working. It's your job! So by doing it, you are getting paid, what else do you expect from it!

Hello, I am a kannadiga from karnataka, things are not as bad as you have described. I can read and write in English and Kannada very well hindi i can read and speak good, sanskrit is Devanagari like hindi anyway, it just has to be encouraged a bit more.
