I really like this channel, I admire the work done by sir, I want to say that the explanation about Alexander the Great was perhaps too hasty? the person who asked the question asked how an alternative scenario would have turned out if Alexander lived to be 80 years old... well, right before he died he planed on a large military expedition around the Arabian peninsula, the result would have been the expansion of the empire along the coasts of Arabia and East Africa and the entire coast of the Red Sea all the way back to the already conquered Egypt. Then Alexander clearly said that he wanted to go west, destroy Carthage and reach the columns of Hercules (strait of Gibraltar) and I think that all this could have been achieved considering the resources he had and the practical lack of a strong enemy with the exception of Carthage... I think that in all these expeditions, Alexander's empire would first have faced logistical difficulties, the climate, the geography, the diseases and only at the end with an enemy that was anyway much weaker than the former Persian empire
