This is, for me, the best full on sex scene we`ve gotten from Bridgerton because it showcases both Colin and Pen`s personalities so well. It`s a bit clumsy, sweet and so healthy seeing two people who love each other enjoy exploring. It`s not what we`d consider spicy, maybe, but it`s way more romantic and intimate, and if you ask me - even better.

Exactly! Again, the way ppl talked about it, I was ready to cringe away in embarrassment. And I really think we could've gotten the type of sex scene I imagine ppl were expecting in ep 8 (which...I have thoughts on).
Also, to me it makes sense that the carriage scene would be sexier because there was so much more adrenaline in the circumstances: Colin thought he was going to lose her, Pen was angry at him, YEARS of hidden feelings were finally revealed, and esp given Pen was super virgin (even Daphne at least self-pleasured), I do imagine her being more comfortable & thus sexy with her clothes still on. Plus the "mechanics" the type of sex in the carriage are simpler than full on.

There are some different choices I wouldve made with the sex scene but i will defend it! The way ppl were talking about it, you would've thought it was the worst one & then i actually watched...i was taken!
I feel this scene actually really reflected their couple dynamic & personalities. Colin was constantly checking in on her, coaching her through, but then Pen showed she wanted to actively participate. He said "I will do everything" and she answered "No, tell me what to do." This is them to a T: Colin wanting to do so much & everything for her, but Pen has her independence & still takes initiative.

The love scene was perfect. It’s one of the most honest, real and intimate scenes they have done on this show.
The costume designer talked about Colin’s vest. It was specifically made in an almost arrow design that draws the eye to his crotch. They wanted to highlight his trim waist, abs, strength etc.
I like what you guys said about her playing with his chest hair. It definitely show how comfortable they are with each other. I saw in one interview that nicola said her and Luke didn’t bother getting dressed between takes they just lounged around naked and ate snacks. That’s friendship & comfort level makes their scenes feel more natural.

The episode review I’ve been waiting on. I see Miatta and drop what I’m doing lmfao. In all seriousness, across three seasons and one prequel, Colin & Pen’s love scene resonated with me the most as a person that has been in a friends to lovers situation before. The level of comfortability you experience with someone you’ve known half your life is an experience that’s really indescribable, but the way Nicola and Luke depicted that on camera was pretty damn close. Much respect to the both of them, that scene was a stunner. ❤🔥🔥
There’s such tenderness and vulnerability in the intimate scene! The clothes/personas that have meant so much to both of them in society are literally being dropped on the floor so they can be as close and real with each other as possible, literally just themselves and a surprisingly brittle chaise.

I almost thought I was intruding on a good friend's first time, it was that real. A lot like most of ours - if we are being honest. A little awkward and uncomfortable but you know things get better and soon pleasure will replace pain. I think I have met some sisters from other mother's in this video and I cannot believe you do not have more subscribers and die-hards. I almost peed my pants I was laughing so hard during this video. I put myself in her shoes - those faces are her dreams coming true (no pun intended), She has loved him since she met him. When she realized what was happening she was more than ready to want more.

I saw a lot of people commenting on IG and RUclips about how they didn’t like the first s**x scene. I didn’t get how any one couldn’t see it was great because it was so realistic. Uncomfortable couch, awkward, maybe a little satisfying lol. Also Yay!! I can see your lovely faces!!
I thought it was sexy and very realistic.
I could be wrong but I think we're used to seeing sex scenes that were filmed in a way that makes their main purpose to be sexy, make us feel hot and bothered. We're not used to seeing them shot in a way that shows intimacy as the main purpose of a scene and sexiness as a happy "coincidence".
Polin sex scene was so raw (excuse the pun😂) and felt way too real especially for it being her first time. The scene was meant to be intimate and from her POV not his. Both things we're not used to.
It didn't give me the tingles because it felt like I was watching Nicola and Luke do it and I felt like a creep for watching😂, that's how real it felt. Putting that aside, I did like how beautiful and comfortable Pen's first time was. I loved it.
People are used to watching highly choreographed sexy scenes in movies and tv shows, so it takes a little bit of maturity to accept a scene which isn't choreographed in the same manner. I prefer this over all the over the top, jumping on each other non-sense we have been fed over the years. Nobody does it like that in real life and all it does it set unrealistic expectations in our minds.

She tells Penelope that Lord Debling is rich and titled, so it was a reach that she managed to land him, but he's weird enough that Penelope would have been able to lock him down enough to make it to the marriage vows. Colin Bridgerton, however, is pretty much the most desirable man of the season, so however Penelope managed to 'trap' won't be enough to disuade other debutantes from stealing him from Penelope. So she's upset because she thinks Penelope tricked herself out of a secure and stable marriage because of a crush on a man she can't depend on.

He will only live off of an albeit very generous allowance but technically, Anthony has the ability to take it away at any moment & she wouldn't be entitled to any $ if something were to happen to Colin. Whereas she basically would've gotten Debling's estate, which sounded even richer than Colin, & she'd have a better shot of keeping it if something were to happen to Debling even if it only were through having a son.

Both Kate and Anthony have said Bridgeton is #1 for them so it’s not really about how actor’s lives work. In season 2 their season were more focused on a lot of side characters. In their season we got no wedding from them then in this season they’re sent on a few honeymoons only to end the season without their baby being born? 😂 It’s obvious that Kanthony isn’t being treated like they treat other people and you just gotta call a spade a spade. India on a boat? Bffr 😂 After he witnessed his mom give birth like that. They really want us to believe he’d have his wife who’s in her second trimester go on a boat to India where they’ll be for months? The writing is nonsense and that’s just that

Like why would Anthony put his heavily pregnant wife on a boat that is gonna be on a journey for 4 or 5 months!? That's totally gonna be a boat baby. It made no sense. Why send them to another continent to write them off? Just send them to Aubrey Hall! Weird move

This discussion was so entertaining! Roll on the rest. Re: the reward, £5000 in 1813 is now actually around £300,000 depending on which online inflation calculator you use, so it's not a small sum. Plus think Pride & Prejudice, Mr Darcy was seen as one of the richest men in England and his estate brought in £10,000, while Bingley was £5,000 a year, so as a lump sum to leave I think she'd be pretty well set! Interesting, you don't like Colin's waistcoat (as we say in the UK rather than vest), as I love it! And I agree on the love scene. It's beautifully done. I didn't laugh, or get embarrassed, as it just felt so loving and real and as you say respectful and not exploitative.
