i think Maya and Houdini best softwares for 3D VFX
i'm beginner and i'm confused when we say "VFX" is it mean only visual effect like for fire, ice, dirt, ect OR we say " VFX" in general for animation like in this video , modelling, texturing, and fx ( fire, ice... )
I'm learning VFX right now so I'll go for maya for VFX 😅
I use Maya and blender, I love both tho....

I have worked with Maya for 14 years. Maya is my best choice .
Motion Graphics - cinema4D hands down
Maya - character animation hands down
Blender - both motion graphics and animation its good
Animation in C4D is also pretty straight forward though ;)
Blender is not used in the industry, sorry for your blender

i was at the 8 minutes mark then i got engrossed in the potential masterpiece i could make and started dancing and bobbinb my head
I been using maya for 8 years.. last year i switched to blender.. blender is so powerful, so much tools to work with and i am happy that i switched.. blender is so good.. specially version 3.0+

Wow, it seems amazing. Would you recommend me to start with this or blender? I have used Blender a bit, but I do not know how to "really" use it. Would the process be the same, as far as the learning goes? Maya seems like the better option and the rigging looks fantastic. Usually with rigging, I feel like it does not look good, but the dinosaur you rigged had the stretch and all, and looked very realistic :-)

He didn’t rig the Dino you can download that exact model and rig lol but in terms of which one you should go for tho I would recommend maya there is a student version for the software it’s a little overwhelming at first but it does handle things better than blender and has more controls and such plus it’s a industry standard so if your planning on doing vfx as a job learn maya hope this helps :)
Depends on what you wanna do, work for a studio or go freelance..

I have learned Maya for 2 years but I still can’t animate any Animals or Human except the bouncing ball or rolling ball 😅. because weight painting in Maya was very very very hard to learn 😵

Really it is difficult to learn
I tried to learn it after learning 3ds max, I found it very difficult.
So I converted to Blender, it is somehow more easy than Maya and more lighter on the pc. However, I still like Maya even it's hard to learn

I think so Maya and Nuke is a best software for VFX.
If you want to work in an old generation big vfx company I fully agree, these softwares tend to shine in bigger productions with a lot of people on 1 project, eventhough Cinema 4D is equally good and a lot has changed since the old das

I think you can create Hollywood effects with blender. I mean there are a few limitations but I think its possible. But I have to agree Maya is great in animation and modeling, but so is Blender.
Maya is the most inconvenient software; I have been working in the 3D industry for several years and have tried switching to this software multiple times. However, every time I started to work on something, I realized that Maya's implementation is extremely awkward and uncomfortable. For example, working with X-gen is a complete nightmare.
But Houdini is a better choice. Maya is stagnant in comparison to Houdini's development over the last 4 years. Its why you can now get Indie versions of Max and Maya
Finally into maya ? 😂 dont forget about Houdini 😅

Hi! I am an avid follower of your tutorials. They are AWESOME!! Can we request you to make a tutorial on the RUST effect [like that of Andrew kramer] in After Effects? His tutorial on "Advanced Damage & Decay FX Tutorial" [ruclips.net/video/gmC5251SLxg/видео.html] is great! But, the rust part is at the end and is a bit confusing! So, if we could have got a complete separate tutorial on rust, it would have been awesome. Would be eagerly waiting for your reply. Thanks!
