      Judo and most martial arts are a curse to the hips and knee joints. So is squash and squats performed deep and with correct form should not compromise the knees. I competed for ten years in the British weightlifting team, retiring in 1982 and my knees are are fine.

    They lock out all the time how is it there joints don’t hurt I would really like to know?

  • @gonephishing100
    @gonephishing100 6 лет назад

    Can't help but think of the joints. Once they have all that weight up over their head, all that pressure on the joints is tremendous.
    Regardless, it's incredible what these lifters can do...even at such young age. Amazing!

    • @volvo245
      @volvo245 6 лет назад

      Some Stranger Plyometrics cause much more wearand tear on the joints. Stepping down stairs can have many times more force imparted to the joints and tendons than in weighlifting. Surest way to kill your knees is to run and jump a lot, box jumps stair related drills being the worst due to the loading being in a shearing plane.

      Pure Luminous Not a matter of faith. Google it. Direct link between endurance sports and heart damage has been established few years back. Large studies on behavioral statistics and actual clinical studies show the link. Mid range continous pulse rate frequently enough prevents heart muscle cells from healing properly which cause lesions and scarring. Once the scarring gets excessive it will start interfering with the very intricate way the heart muscle contracts, this will lead to lethal heart problems.

    • @tjcogger1974

      In a locked out position, the pressure is on their skeletal structure, (for the most part). Not on their joints

      Squat stands/squat blocks. Most common are the Zhang Kong ones, they're about $600 in the US, but shipping is expensive because they don't come apart. Other brands like DHS and Taishan will probably be a bit cheaper but also harder to get.

    • @kickyouinhalf
      @kickyouinhalf 6 лет назад +70

      When pushing your body to compete in any real athletic sport is probably going to take a toll on your joints. That's the price of pushing the human body to it's limits. Otherwise, you can save your joints by sitting in front of a tv with your feet up and die of a heart attack when you're 30 and 500lbs.

    • @ando5515
      @ando5515 6 лет назад +48

      +Tyler K. i think he's saying that it's especially horrendous for your knee joints when you squat that way. sure everything affects your knees, even squatting with perfect form, but squatting like that is setting yourself up for some early damage.

    • @leonidaspappas2164
      @leonidaspappas2164 6 лет назад +2

      I was about to talk numbers but ill put my thesis instead. Most athletes don't squat their maxes or even pushes them every week. In fact an athlete might wait for that moment 6 months. It is harmful for knees yeah if it is done occasionally. But doing it with program and dedication it isn't.

    For anyone not understanding how they are so strong for their size, its because asians typically are shorter, and have shorter limbs. Shorter limbs means they have a shorter length of pull. They don't have to move the weight as much as someone who is taller than them. Not discounting the amount of work these guys have put into training of course...
