When I started on sites at 14 an old boy said to me "don't ever forget every man operating a digger thinks he's considerably better than he actually is" ! ... He meant it in a safety sense but I guess it applies to correct use also...great episode again lad 👍

A great entertaining channel Baz and the Director. I used to deliver concessionary coal to coal miners on a flat bed lorry, loading 8 tons at a time. Sometimes having to fill the bags with a shovel and loading and delivering 2 or sometimes 3 loads a day. No work, no pay, so out in all weathers. I had my own wagon that needed servicing and repairing at weekends, so not much free time, It was hard work and winters were longer and colder 30 or more years ago. Them days are long gone and nowadays I'm happy to sit here in my armchair with a cup of tea and a hot-water bottle, watching you and your lads enjoying the fresh air up there in Yorkshire...😁😁
for those who have not worked with steel to roll a curve into a 15 mm steel plate is no mean feat it takes an impressive set of rollers to make it into a curve
Good call on the Strickland Baz! The zero swing machines loose a little bit of balance at full reach when filled with heavy material due to the thicker gauge but that’s a small price to pay for the longevity you will gain. I’m sure with your buying power they could brand and number the buckets before paint for you.
Cheers Baz and Director, some good shots there of the sort of jobs encountered in the Plant game. The Robotrac always had cracking problems even on the model before yours with the 1013 Deutz Diesel, in fact, I’m surprised the Screen Box mountings where the Springs go wasn’t broken off. On the Cones as you probably now know you have to fit the right Mantle etc to deal with the type of material being crushed. Jaws are less maintenance and Rotary and Impacters etc are a whole other matter. See you on the next one.

nice digging bucket. would just ask the manufacturer if he can countersink the holes in the mother blade. especially in demolition work that we are involved in, the nuts stay intact longer.

Another great video, thanks, You where talking about wear on the cone crusher, I work in a quarry in Norfolk where the stone is very hard, it's a flint type of stone, we have had one of those crushers on hire in the past, we where having the cone changed every 6 to 10 days due to the hardness of the stone, crushing roughly 1100 ton per day crushing about 40mm size stone,
Flint is very abrasive!! Even more so than quartzite or granite here in Sioux Falls SD we used quartzite in our concrete and asphalt and we change liners in about the same timeframe! Some bigger companies actually have two cones on site so they can replace the liner in while the other stays crushing…. Up time is everything in this business
Shap granite change the pegson cone n mantle every four weeks,turn jaws on two kue Jen's every two weeks ,change every four,got quick at them but still had bit grief now n again, Great video as usual 👍

Could your build boys add stiffners on the back of the buckets? it seems the design of using a round tube at the top rather than the flat plate might be stronger as it should be more rigid in the back, instead of flexing the pipe is much more rigid as it disperses the twisting energy along it's length Very cool! Keep em coming!!!!
Do they sell 5 gallon bucket paint shakers...might be able to mix up that bucket if it's put in one of them for 10 minutes...might save having to buy new every time...
Looking at some of them buckets you can tell it's bad opperaters we call them keyboard opperaters and they do most of there driving in the pub they don't give a shit when they're not paying for it I'm glad you Hooke up with Curtis from cc engineering I think he's top class I've been watching him for a while I see you already know about a engineering company in northern Ireland we've got some good engineering companies here in southern Ireland aswell I'm only 10 miles from Dromone engineering they make quick hitches I used to use Stricland buckets when I lived in Birmingham 35 years ago excavators have become a lot more powerful since then anyway great videos keep them coming great 👍👍
How do you get on with running the tacho in the van? ESP with all the other work and out of scope driving on site. How do you get round the out of hours emergency call outs with the driving regs? Being out til 2am and then back in yard at 6 just doesn’t work.
@@welderfabber not so sure about that, we had to run a tacho in our little vivaro as with trailer on it went over 3500kg and into eu driving regs. Anyway, loving the channel, came over from Ashville. Mechanic to trade; just light vehicle stuff. Wish I could weld. Love the work ethic you and the lads have. Varied and interesting work. 👍.
Not awelder so forgive me,the cone once cut was still on fire when being worked on.1 what was burning as it's metal, 2 safety wise shouldn't it be out out? Not a softie southerner question just unsure!
When they are out out on hire those buckets, they are used to dig hard ground when a digging bucket should be used. They are more designed for grading work, soft pile digging or in your case scrapping the ground. So really it will last a lot longer if all you are doing is scrapping a road. The real test for it would be out on hire, where everything gets abused by operators who don't care. Does drive you nuts having operators who don't care

Baz, it's never the operators fault, just ask them ! They never claim to know what happened, the damage was there when they got on the machine at the start of their shift.
Would be interesting to learn the pros/ cons of a cone crusher versus a jaw crusher. The cone crusher does seem higher maintenance. 🤔 Great video guys. 👍
Baz I had a old timer teach me on Leyland boxers, Bedford Tk and such a shame now everything is laptop and programming. AI robots won't be able to do what we do and think out the box
A lot of buckets get broken because of abuse. I used to see machine drivers smack the ditching bucket on the road to get clay out of the bucket to lazy to get out of the machine and get a shovel and dig it out. In thirty years going on sites i have seen good bad and ugly machine drivers.😂❤

yeah grease waste its not a issue

Cones are a secondary crusher they can actually make sand out of rock a jaw can not get that small
