Thanks Pastor Skip. Verses 8:11-12 certainly brings to mind the massacre of October 7. And the hatred towards the children of Israel is still alive - 2800 years later - even reaching into the government of this country. But God's sovereignty still rules over all - just like that providential arrow that found its way to Joram's heart from the bow of Jehu. God bless.
It all makes more sense to me now. Back in my reading of the New Testament, I had a surface level of understanding as to why it is commanded for a believer not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers. I get it at some point, “what fellowship has light with darkness?” but, could not connect with the depth of that command.
But the story of King Solomon adds depth to it. How his heart turned away from the Lord his God by disobeying His command and marrying many women, especially women from pagan nations who did not know YAHWEH. His wives encouraged him to worship their gods.
Before the nation of Israel got divided into two, there was King Solomon who got his heart divided first.
I will treasure this truth in my heart ✨
