If you like the Beatles you will love oasis....people think they only have wonderwall.....they have over 100 great songs and hidden B sides which are better than most good bands best songs....you have all their live stuff and demos and acoustic versions not to mention their covers they do of other band which are normally even better....and on top of that you have all their solo work and beady eye....once you go down the oasis rabbit hole and start listening to all their music you will realise how underrated they are...they are great

That very long hot summer of 1996. This song was on constant replay at my local pub and you heard it everywhere you went that year. Lots of people were getting pretty high back then so it matched closely with the spirit of the times. Not me of course, because I wouldn't do that sort of thing. No, really.

I’ve been waiting for you to dive into Oasis. Given their relevancy in sound and taste to The Beatles. In my opinion Oasis and Nirvana were the last REAL Classic Rock groups. Oasis was the last real Rock N Roll group.

Definitely check out suede. Dog man star is so incredibly impressive. It has that oasis brit pop sound merged with Hendrix/Bowie musicianship and creativity. 100% you’ll love that album.

Love your reactions! I've heard this song many times and it's literally a masterpiece. What's more important than the lyrics (and the lyrics become more clear after decifering the "feel" of the song) is how the arrangement "hits" emotionally. The harmonica gives it a nostalgic feel and the drums and guitar provide a majestic buildup to the ending. A supernova is the gigantic buildup right before a star explodes. I hear so much sadness as this song winds down. Liam and Noel absolutely despised each other. So I think this song is a foretelling of the end of the band. Note that Noel spells out "help" with the dominoes towards the end. Makes me incredibly sad to hear this tune because this band was just so incredible. I may have over reached in my interpretation but I don't think so.

I believe Paul Weller did some backing vocals and guitar on this Oasis track. If you’re unaware of who Paul Weller is, he is a legend. This song was popular my senior year of high school in the States, and stateside we usually take fancy senior pictures. For one picture the background had the psychedelic spirals similar to this video. That photo was known as my “Champagne Supernova photo”.

I can recommend you Liam Gallagher - Once, It is from his last solo album and has a lots of meaning and sorrow in the song, the exact opposite of this song, with actual meaning, very straightforward. People should know that song.
There is a country version of Dont Look Back in Anger by Kip Moore. He just whipped it out (his guitar) and started singing it and the crowd joined in half way through. It was country music special on Radio 2 live featuring US singers. It was the last thing I expected to hear but I enjoyed the version. Maybe you could react to that one ?. It is on You Tube

I personally like that noel has said the meaning is whatever people put to it. Noel said: "I was on stage in Glasgow and I was playing 'Champagne Supernova' and I was thinking: 'What is this song about? What does it actually mean?' I don't even know what it means.
"And I look up from my guitar and there's a sea of people on each others' shoulders, some of the guys topless waving their shirts around and I think: 'It doesn't matter what it means.'"
