    These blind test always emphasise a few things for me.
    1. You will sound like you (the old tone is in the fingers). BTW your tone is smoking.👌
    2. Amp/Cab and how you dial them in are in my opinion a bigger contributing factor to your tone than your guitar.
    3. Paying more money for a guitar might not make you sound better - BUT it might give you a more enjoyable playing experience.

      You kind sir, have said exactly what I intended for the viewer to take away from this video to the last detail. I rarely pin comments, but I have pinned this. Thanks for the comment and for checking it out!

    Damn, I'm impressed by the Cabronita.☺. Definitely held it's own.

      And that's with all stock pickups and electronics, it's a really underrated guitar in that sense.

    That's awesome they sound so much alike

    Guitar A has that Fender tone. It's bright and chimes. Guitar B sounds darker, yet richer, with more depth. Now we're Fender players all the way, especially love Teles. But both guitars sound really good. It just depends on your budget and what inspires you the most.

    Both sound good. B is Gibson

  • @jemahl123

    Personally I preferred A, but it's marginal. I think the real point is tone is in mostly your fingers and it's the feel of playing a high end good guitar for the player compared to a cheaper model rather than the audience experience, if that makes sense. My sheraton sounds great with upgraded pups and I love it, but it still doesnt feel as beautiful to play as a mates 3 grand heritage 335.

    • @AudiomoMusic
      @AudiomoMusic  3 года назад

      Yep, that was the entire point of this exercise, I wanted to show it really is all about you as a player and how you phrase and play at the end of the day. Sure the Gibson is infinitely better to play but as far as making an end product? You heard the two of them back to back, not much else to say.

    I liked the tone of guitar A but the fret buzz sounds like a fender/squier Guitar b was warmer, wouldn't be surprised if Im wrong

      It's crazy to think they were even as close as they were given the structural and pickup differences.

    B sounds to me like shorter scale, so I think that one is Gibson. I'd also prefer that rounder sound over A guitar. But both are perfectly usable

    Kind of hard to distinguish because those aren't really Jazzmater pickups. Explanation: These pickups have a Jazzmaster coil wider but not as tall as a P90, there is where it stops, these Jazzmaster pups have two bar magnets and adjustable pole pieces like a P90. Therefore I call them a J90. Guitar A is a little hotter and has a little more attack. A real test would be for you to be blindfolded and play my Cabronita and my Fender thinline with P90s. I'm not going to tell you which one plays better but my Cabronita I've done quite a bit of work on it.

    Hey there! Having the Olympic white version of the tele, I could immediately tell which was which. Hah. I love it and it's a great guitar. Impressionism and social acceptance really influences the perceived value. I was a little reluctant to show a few of my gear-snob friends the tele when I got it because it said squier. Not because I bought a squire, but because I didn't want to hear their opinion on value when I'm the one playing! When it comes to an instrument, you're 100% correct. Buy with your ear, and hands secondly. Thanks for the video. I appreciate you, your time, and effort in creating this great content.

      Hey Chris that's awesome you have the White one! I really like the styling they chose with these guitars, they look great. I do find it interesting that "social acceptance" is even a thing. I know people that won't even consider a guitar if the brand isn't PRS, GIbson, or Fender. I'll never understand it because you think how I do, if a guitar feels good and sounds good who cares about that stuff right?
      Thanks for the nice comment I really appreciate it!

      @@AudiomoMusic Like anyone else involved in music retail in the late 60’s through early 80’s, I know that price does not equal quality. But the best boutique stuff is still exceptional. That’s why my instruments from the Dingwall Custom Shop and Karol guitars share equal time on stage with cheaper stuff from Cordoba, Guild, Epiphone and Squier. The heart wants what it wants.

  • @steverolfeca

    I consistently noticed that B had a narrower, less complex sound. I have a personal prejudice against Jazzmaster pickups, so I’m guessing that was the Squier. However, A didn’t seem to have the character and honk that I associate with P90’s, so I’ve no idea which was which. And that saves me about $4,300!

  • @richthetrashpicker-upper5244

    It's so close but I'd say B is the Gibson

    • @AudiomoMusic
      @AudiomoMusic  3 года назад +1

      Isn't it wild that it's as close as it is? Granted I think the driven bridge pickup is the dead giveaway it's still something to marvel at.

    I made a decision as to which I prefer and then had a look at the comments. After listening on a 2nd device (using the same headphones) I can comfortably say that I massively prefer the sound of the Cabronita. Not even marginally, it's night and day to me. Was not expecting that.

    • @AudiomoMusic
      @AudiomoMusic  3 года назад

      I'm actually glad you came away with that conclusion. It really drives the point home, tone is subjective and I truly believe people let their eyes fool their ears.

    • @just_say_when3445

      @@AudiomoMusic Yeah, I like a fairly bright guitar tone generally so that the bass is really clear. If I listen to bands that have two Les Pauls I can barely hear the bass at all. Just my opinion.

    B had a distinctive rattle on the lower strings. If that's your Gibson, might wanna check bridge adjustment or wear in the nut.

    I prefer A which judging by your comments is the Tele. Of course the 4 grand guitar will have superior materials and workmanship but it doesn't sound 10 times better, probably not even twice as good. I could never lay down that much money for a guitar. However I did just spend $279 on a used Tele paranormal Carbonito guitar which can be eq'd to sound even closer to the 4 grand Gibby.😊

    B is the Gibson. A the Cabronita. B has more mid range and better gain clarity. A is very pokey and a bit muddy under gain. If I'm wrong I'm selling my Gibson 🎸. Or deleting this comment...
