    Thanks for a great review. I bought this guitar in the same color a few weeks ago and love it. I am not much of a player, but enjoy fooling around when the mood hits me. I really love the sound of these pickup, and I love Tele's, but these sound great clean, which is all that I play. I have very small hands and this neck is perfect for me. As a matter of fact, the setup was perfect out of the box. The only issue I have had was the pickup selector switch would not stay on the bridge pickup last weekend. I opened the back cover and sprayed electronic cleaner liberally on the switch as I moved it back and forth, and that fixed the problem. I noticed a lot of small bits of black specks in the cavity, and that may have what caused the problem. Next time if it happens again I will clean it out before spraying. I have a collection of inexpensive guitars, and I like playing this one the most.

      The pickups are really good! Most of the time with guitars in this price range I would rush to change them if I was planning on keeping the guitars but these are legitimately decent. The neck for me is still way too small but everything else about it is great. Glad you love yours!

    Ideas for Mods:
    -*Mini toggle switch between the master volume/tone knobs to activate a series position for both pickups!* (I want to do that when I hopefully get one for myself)
    -Warmoth vintage modern roasted maple neck with stainless steel frets! I put them unfinished or with light tru-oil on most my builds with vintage modern profile to prevent neck dive on semi-hollows, and highly suggest the "boatneck" profile because I also dislike the super thin modern 'C' shape. But be aware that they're really behind due to COVID, and the wait might not be worth it.
    -Schaller locking strap buttons (of course)
    -Definitely swap the toggle switch, but I'd keep the pots unless they were really scratchy.

    • @AudiomoMusic
      @AudiomoMusic  3 года назад +1

      We agreed on the big old roasted maple neck, I think that's where we are going to be going with it... I definitely think it will benefit from that big time, the guitar honestly sounds great and I'm very surprised by the pickups. A bridge is going to be a must to, the stock one is very noticably cheap.

    Im interested in this guitar but my local shops only have them on backorder so I cant go and try it out. I love the sound.
    I have fairly big hands so I'm somewhat concerned about the very slim neck... Was going to try a normal tele to get the feel for the neck but think theyre not the same correct?
    Im looking for a good guitar for Neo Soul style playing... So going between this, normal Tele or a Jazzmaster...

    • @AudiomoMusic
      @AudiomoMusic  Год назад

      Pretty much any Fender or guitar for that matter will get you to that style of music, the technique and amp is more important to nail that sound.

    • @AudiomoMusic

      Sadly yeah, it is pretty normal. It all comes down to how these guitars are stored and transported but I do see it all the time- it's not the dealers fault it's really on Fender and their methods of getting inventory across the world.

      @AudiomoMusic  2 года назад +1

      Definitely a solid point in regards to it working well for women. An overlooked thing my wife has found makes a big difference in how comfortable an instrument will be is the actual nut width - typically Japanese guitars come with a thinner nut width and that makes a huge difference to her ability to be able to sit and play for longer. Great video! But I’m confused how bolt-on neck and one body neck affect the tone, and whether the hollow body would creat noise in high gain

    • @AudiomoMusic
      @AudiomoMusic  3 года назад

      A bolt on neck is going to have less sustain than a glued in set neck which will also have a bit more warmth to it. In this case, there isn't a definitive one is better than the other in that design sense, it all depends on the specific guitar, pickups, and what you intend to use it for.
      With higher gain a semi hollow will be more likely to feedback faster with standard non noise cancelling pickups, but it won't be as drastic as a full hollow body. In the case of this guitar, it's much more of a thinline meaning it was one piece of wood with two chambers cut on each side which isn't a true semi-hollow. It does feedback a bit but I'm going to chalk the majority of that to the actual pickups. If it had humbuckers I don't think it would be nearly the same.

Hardware was a drop in replacement ( I used Gotoh ) however I couldn't get past how skinny the neck was, I tried to fit on an American Telecaster neck and the fit was not even close ( the neck pocket on the body was cut completely incorrect to Fender spec ). I found this to be unbelievable considering there are cheap generic bodies that cost under $100 that are cut correctly to fit a Fender neck but a Fender licensed product couldn't do so without modification that I wasn't willing to invest the money in.
