I've lived in a few sketchy areas over the years and one thing they all have in common is far too many liquor stores which do nothing but bring down the neighborhoods they serve even further.
Rich areas in Nashville have liquor stores too lol . The country music ✨ stars 🌟 drink 😂.. every area has liquor stores it’s not against the law to drink no matter what area your in 😂
you started in north nashville, that liquor store is very active. i know you see the police camera in the light pole. then you went to j.c naiper/tony sudekum/university courts, on the south. a VERY dangerous area. lots of shootings. then you went back north to the liquor store to aj/andrew jackson projects, a hornets nest. then you drove down jefferson street. then to james casey. VERY active area, alot of killings. then past cheatham place on the north. only ones you missed was edgehill out south, and dodge city out north. the gentrification will fool you, it gets dangerous in the ville at times. not memphis dangerous but dangerous. bless up!!! you also have east nashville bottoms(gentrified now) and preston taylor out west (gentrified now), henry hale/jo jo (gentrified now) north
Excellent analysis. I have to also mention that I agree with your statement on the gentrified areas. While some places may not "look" dangerous they are in fact very much so. I tend to gravitate towards more apocalyptic type warzone footage, so when filming and editing I do think a lot about whether I should include the gentrified/non warzone type areas. It is becoming a more common look to bad areas as buildings are getting remodeled or rebuilt ground up, so I suppose it comes down to a "if you know, you know" kinda thing in terms of dangerous parts. I strive to be as accurate as possible when making these for folks who arent familiar with the areas.
Crime has been going up in recent years, unfortunately. However with that said most of downtown is fine and for the "most" part Nashville is quite exceptional. The video shows most of the bad areas which is easily avoidable. It's gentrifying a lot and I'm sure in the near future a good bit of these places on the video wont be recognizable.
@@hoodsnhollers I agree. Downtown is sorta hit or miss, it really just kinda depends on how Nashville feels that day. 😆 But yeah, pretty easy to avoid the seedy parts of the larger city.
These neighborhoods and people have been consumed by drugs it's really heartbreaking to see families break down and this is the result thank you for your hard work
I lived in Nashville for 5 years. There were definitely no-go areas, but I always felt a weird sense of danger there, like anything could happen absolutely anywhere. Don't get me wrong, there are tons of wonderful people there, and it's a cool place to live. Situational awareness is key.
Sadhguru runs a retreat out here in Tennessee, I can see why 🙏 bless you all . I hope this channel grows to help expose the hypocrisy of the US and it's systemic capitalist inequality . Hope you can eventually take request and get donations to travel and shoot areas on the west coast rust belt and north and south. My request is to come to central California and Riverside county and San Bernardino , San Fernando , bay area Oakland , Santa Rosa, Eureka, San Francisco and south SF , Stockton, San Diego, el cajon, Lancaster etc , advice where a money belt carry pepper spray and bullet proof vest and keep a camera in your car running ! . 😲✌️😩
I have to be honest and say for the most part I see that the housing areas you’re driving by seem well built, tidy, with lawns and decent looking vehicles. Since Tennessee is currently overrun with open positions for jobs I would like to assume that there is no excuse for not having one and being able to care for their families. No the vacant and abandoned areas are always going to look sad.
These people are living good! So unfortunate they chose their cars as show of putting in the community. Vehicle for status over your community but blame everyone else
I have never seen this side of Nashville. Thanks for showing it
Nashville is in the top 20 for crime!
Same!
What did ya think, just all hee haw and country music? 😉
They all got brand new rides outside of those houses. Ppp loans

Liquor stores are the result, not the cause.
Nashville can get bad in those projects lived there for a few months got out fast in 2018
Im from Brazil and I find that neighborhood very beautiful... People there should be thankful for living in a such nice place
Brazil isn't the wealthiest country in the world with a Trillion dollar military budget and Trillion dollar companies now is it?
Yes as a US resident this is shameful
Seenmuch worse .
Thanks for the compliment 😊
yeah still pretty nice place.

Thank you so much Hoods N Hollers for uploading this great video, I appreciate it!
This area almost looks pristine compared to your ride along of Philadelphia.
Nashville is doing a great job at getting houses and areas cleaned up, I always see a difference when going there.
@@hoodsnhollers hell yea Nashville now compared to when I was a kid is completely different and not to mention all the Californians moving in
Tbf, not that being mad changes anything, but it is rather infuriating to see what was once probably nicer areas be turned into third world toilets.
Interesting...I've just been reading about how bad and dangerous Nashville is?. At one time wasn't a grand ole place? How's downtown?

I live just outside of Nashville.. this place has gotton out if hand. Opry mills mall and downtown Broadway is absolutely nuts....
Compared to Detroit, this place looks like an oasis
What's up with all the plywood on the houses ? Are they expecting a storm ?
Prob broken window
It keeps out the hordes of homeless zombies.
the houses are boarded up because they're empty
At least some of this is in north Nashville. That's been a hot area recently, and not in a good way.
I’d love to see you drive through Memphis.
Memphis will be coming up in the future on the channel for sure
These neighborhoods and people have been consumed by drugs it's really heartbreaking to see families break down and this is the result thank you for your hard work
Actually most these neighborhoods pushed people out cause rising rent and rapid property tax growth with no new or increase in income
What a charming neighborhood. 😒
Havent been there in ages it looks so different now. Bet those hoods get rowdy at night?
I guess the way you park your vehicle is optional!
It never fails, you will always have liquor stores and beauty supplies stores in these areas. They should just go into business with each other.
look at those old school cars in the hood lol

Situational awareness is key anywhere :)
I think it's improved over the past 20 years. Still gets rough at night
Old days when the city was absolutely no go areas I'd go to but that was then like the northern side like what was the bottom
90% of the cars got front or rear end collision lol that’s crazy
Best hood tour of Nashville
Thanks for watching!

Why so many cars all smashed up ?
Cuz they dont have the money to fix them.
But you see brand new Cadillacs meanwhile it's raining in the bed
Are these the worst areas? U just filmed projects. Some of the bad areas aren’t housing projects tho.
Very interesting.id like to see the country music capitol of the world?thanks for video.
"Smart people live in government housing projects", something nobody ever said.
Wonder who lives in those places?
Also...thanks for the tour.
If you are brave enough you should check out Memphis. Really, tho, most big cities have bad sides of town.
I will have Memphis up in the near future when I get some time. Memphis is a good time been there a lot, it’ll be a good one!
wow, thnx
Thank you for watching!
This is the Projects thats what its called round here
Looks like Detroit
that must be out north, live in east nashville
Come on Nashville. Don’t become another Memphis. Fix up your stuff.
Areas can be fixed up but the people will just destroy it again
The bad parts of nashvegas looks like the good parts of memphix, Nash ain't been blue as long
different from country music hall of fame.
These people are living good! So unfortunate they chose their cars as show of putting in the community. Vehicle for status over your community but blame everyone else
That happens in a lot of poor areas though,it’s easier to get a car loan than a house loan
this is the capital of Tennessee also the home of david brown better known as young buck from g. unit dirty south ghetto hoods housing projects.
I have seen worst..I'm from Philadelphia..😁🤣🤔
