I feel like they paid a bit of homage to the first and second versions of the original ride with the more frequent appearances from the evil queen. Also, I loved that some of the trees in the forest scene actually bend down and reach at the ride vehicles. That’s a VERY cool touch. I think this might be my favorite version of this ride I’ve seen yet! :)
The queen looking in the mirror and turning around to be the witch is actually from the first ride , I believe her coming around the corner in the water is too
@@shannond1511 They are. :) I noticed that Paris’ version uses several things from the very first version of the ride. It’s cool getting to see these ideas brought back to at least one version of the ride. Just very cool to see. 😄
@@ashleymitts Over the years, the ride has changed a few times. The one in Disneyland in the US has had at least three versions that came before the current one. I can’t speak for the one in Paris, since I’m not as knowledgeable about that park, but I did notice figures and effects that were used in the very first version of the ride from 1955.
It always gets me how the witch makes the most appearances, much more than Snow White. Every time I expect Snow White, the witch appears like “gotcha!” 😂
I worked on this in the 90s and the amount of children coming off at the end crying was unreal, I couldn’t believe they’d find it so scary, especially after I’d been on the far scarier 80s version in Florida when I was 7 and absolutely loved it
I rode the version in Tokyo when I was 3 (pretty much the same ride as the original Florida one except for a more lighthearted dwarf cottage scene) and only thinking "where was snow white?" I later saw her right after getting off the haunted mansion and thought she left her ride for a while to take a little walk lmao.
And then there is my 4 year old who loves ghost trains since he was 3, who was angry cause the guy at the ride didn’t jump scared him with a mask at the end of the ride at our local theme park 😂 and the guy was so sorry, he actually didn’t want to scare him, cause he is so young 😅 His favourite ride in Disneyland Paris is phantom manor and we had to ride it 5 times 1,5 years ago at our last visit 😂
@@DasTamii that’s awesome, I was the same as a kid. Phantom Manor is my favourite too, I love the music, it’s like being in a film.i was there too September 2022 and it had a refurb and brought back Vincent Prince as the original narrator
@@TayWoode I was 10 when I was the first time in dlp and back then it was also my favourite ride and still is one of my favourite today (even if I kinda like the old versions little bit more). I don’t know if I would have been scared of Snow White with only 3-4 years, but I don’t think so, even if I am scared easily in general, but I was used to real ghost trains back then and Snow White isn’t really scary compared to that 😅
@BK Beatty Well I was born in 98, so I never got to ride the original. But after watching the video, it looked like the ride was meant to be a version of a thrill ride before Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain, and formerly Splash Mountain were built. I like them both respectively, but I’m more biased towards the refurbishment because that’s the one I’ve ridden many times.
I am 32 and also love Peter Pan, Pinocchio and Snow White and always was thinking, that they really should make more dark rides like this for other movies too, cause I think these dark rides are one of the biggest differences to other “normal” theme parks. Now we at least get Frozen too. 😊
The thing I hate about this ride and Pinocchio at DLP is that if they would speed down the ride a bit you could take in the ride better and you wouldn't need to wait way too long in the final scene to disembark.
My partner and I went to DLP this week, waited 30mins in line and I swear this ride felt like it was at 2X speed and over in about one min. NO ONE seems to talk about this online so I feel very validated by your comment 😂 would have been so much better slowed down- we thought it was an awful ride at this speed 👏
rode this earlier this year and my friend pointed out that the snow white animatronic at the end has a completely different style to the animatronics used earlier in the ride. In fact they look like they could have even been repurposed animatronics from somewhere else, dressed up to look like snow white and prince charming. does anyone know anything about this? i can't see anything about the strange style change online!
I worked on this in the 90s and it’s always been like that even before the refurb. The other one at the start on the stairs isn’t an animatronic it’s just a fibre glass mannequin. I know they have recycled some animatronics like the Mayor in Phantom Manor that takes his head off is a Dreamfinder animatronic from Epcot Center
Boy this takes me back to how the one in D-land used to be. This version (and Disney World's) got it right. Scary elements are there and a happy ending. Oh well....
Great video! Interesting to see the common elements with the old WDW version, and how the plussed that up. I still think the WDW Fantasyland needs 2-4 more dark rides like this.
This is crazy! it’s so similar to original one at Disneyland but although it has many of same scenes it doesn’t seem as scary as Disneylands. This is how the ride should’ve been sure scary but more colorful and definitely brighter
How do you film it! it's amazing how is possible to see all the details and in focus all the time! 😍 some details like the painted floors are so difficult to see with the eyes! Beautiful video, that version don't have the projection mapping but the retro effects are lovely too!!
Ok see this is what I was talking bout but it only missing is the textures from the 1991for the tree and crocodile wood. The ending, I was expecting for you know when snow white rode the horse until they reached the white heavenly castle. That will be great.
Fun Fact: Basically, the Snow White's attraction were created without having Snow White in it 'cause the visitors were supposed to be Snow White themselves and see the story through her eyes. But the visitors didn't understand that so the creators of the attractions added Snow White in it. This version is the much closer to the first one where Snow White wasn't in the first attractions. The only differences is that they added Snow White at the beginning going up the stairs to her room like if she was going to sleep. From that moment, the rest of the attraction is supposed to be a Snow White's dream which is why Snow White doesn't reappear again until the end 'cause her happy end is ours. It was the same with the ancients Peter Pan's attraction where Peter Pan wasn't in the attractions 'cause the visitors were supposed to be Peter Pan themselves but also didn't understood this. So they put Peter Pan in the attractions where the visitors fly with Peter Pan.
They actually updated the one in Cali. They took out the forest scene and added a proper ending where the prince kissed snow white. The rest are pretty much the same.
I literally get scared of this ride cause I get bad dreams every time I see the witch thing but in the movie it’s less scary do u think I should go back to Disneyland with my cousins to conquer my fears and go on the Snow White ride again
Je suis fan de disney. Je suis 🇺🇸🇺🇸 et j'etudie le francais . Je Suis fan de Blanche neige de disney. Je n'ai jamais ete a Disneyland Paris. J'aime Disney , Disneyland Paris compte sur moi
This Kinda looks like the one at Disneyland in California expect, this one is Scary Adventures and the one at Disneyland California is Enchanted Wish!! Hope they change it into Enchanted Wish in Disneyland Paris
I thought you’d love it, all your comments on the other videos makes you seem as miserable as the old witch in this, so you should feel right at home, you and your friend could sit in the cottage at the start with your violin and folk guitar 😂

I use to cry on this ride as a kid. Now I see why 🥲 I love it now tho!!
Such a treasure! Glad to see the original idea of this ride still flourishing.
I don't care I'm 22
These 3 rides are still so incredibly fun to me
Idk if it's the actual idea of it or pure, pure nostalgia

The scary trees are terrifying! The witches face still haunts my dreams. They did a great job on this dark ride!

I always thought it was funny, that you only see Snow White at the beginning and the end and 90% if the ride it’s almost just the evil queen 😂
