It's sad to see these boats rotting away. It is also sad that people, for whatever reason, leave their country and head for an uncertain future. The worst thing is that some people earn very well from it. But still a great video!
There is zero need to feel sorry for these people. All they are looking for is to use the European system that you and me are paying for. Trust me, I know it from a very personal experience. At this stage I'm more concerned about the boats than these people...as harsh as it may sound
Hi, I´m living in Kalamata at Peloponnesos and here we have the same probleme but in a smaller scale. Usualy we have 2 - 4 sailing vessels captured by the coast guard every year. And they were all full of refugues on the way to Italy, mostly from Turkey. After a few years they get rid of the boats, I don´t know how. Some are scrapped in the harbour. At the moment we have two here, both damaged. Sometimes the refugues are collected in a shed in the harbour for a day or two till they have found a place for them waiting for their case. I´m glad to hear your verson from Italy. You are not so far from here now I understand.
It is so sad😪 Maybe a YT- video don't change a lot, but I'm thinking the more people that are aware of what is going on and keeping their eyes open, the more lives the coast quard can save..
@@sailingtilda it was just a joke. I watched the video. It’s sad. I’m thinking if there is a way to salvage the best of these boats, try to sell them to legit buyers and donate some proceeds to refuge camps etc.

Thank you for this post and bringing awareness to human suffering, tragedy and evil.

I think the more people are aware the better option to stop it

Appearemtly it is easier arrival in Italy then Greece, even if it is longer to go
@imar758 - are the captured sailing boots getting sold?
After months or years they are not there anymore. It is lagaly complicatet to have them sold. One was scrapped on land in the harbour.@@didiatsea
Please tell me more about your cables to the water - for lightning protection - how do you set them up - so sad about the refuge boats ..
You just clips them on to each shroud😊
@@sailingtilda are they stainless stell - and how many do you use
Rocella is where I was stuck with engine failure last summer… there were nine abandoned boats and a refugee camp then 😢

Are you telling me that all I have to do to get a decent boat for free is go there and ask how to take one?
Eh, no.. or what do you mean?
