Has nobody noticed this guy's driving skills??? He spun the Titanic around twice before powering out the same way he came. In a 2 lane road. He is a badass..
He is a great driver. What makes me laugh is people who aren’t into cars and especially the ones of a vegan, sandal wearing, cycling disposition have a tendency to call this ‘bad driving’. The audacity!!! I understand the police calling this bad driving (coz they have to ensure people stick to laws etc and some of them r really good drivers) but when it comes from snowflakes and soy boys who lack the testicular fortitude to even eat a steak sandwich - I have to wonder at the irony🙄
Yeah man. Grew up on Oldsmobiles and had Daddy showin' how to do doughnuts and powers lines as a young teenager! Still love doing it! Try a powerslide on ice with an empty 18 wheeler on ice, in a big empty parking lot sometime!!
@@tombeyer375 nice👌
@@tombeyer375 what’s a power line I’ve never heard that term used with cars before?
@@theflyingchihuahua7026 Sorry, should've said doing doughnuts around power pole (telephone pole). Sometimes I either fatfinger when typing or spellcheck jumps in and I don't see it. Sorry.

True.
That is such a cool original comment and funny as hell. Probably true though.

Nothing like a 2 and a half ton American car lighting up the tires!
@Timothy Mckee

More like an American landyacht

There’s just something so satisfying about an old boat doing a nice donut
These make 500+ lb. ft of TQ stock at the crank during the good years prior to 1972. A lower rear gear and a warm-over of that 455 really wakes these cars up.
It’s satisfying cuz the way it moves
1985 checking in!
These types of videos wouldn’t be complete without the dog in the big yard watching it all
Don't let the luxury fool ya. Never underestimate a Ninety-Eight!
I remember I saw a 4 door 225 buick raise up off a dead stop. I never saw a car that big get up & move that fast. I'm talkin it got up & out asap. Completely bossed up off a sitting position & got out no hesitation no stallin.
I love those big old cars.

I once power slid a 455 powered '74 Olds 98 around a big, sweeping corner with 6 passengers. The 455 is an absolute beast.
Had a friend that could do that with most of his muscle cars... and he had them all... back in the day. I never had the nerve... or just maybe never had an over-powered car that was also loose in the back end. I WILL say, that when the chips were down, and he was challenged to a street drag, it would be yours truly in the drivers seat. I couldn't drift, but I could DAMNED SHO' snatch them gears under pressure : )
Favorite was when a '70 and definitely not-stock Z28 wanted to run his '65 442 w/425 c.i. I figure no WAY I would beat that Z off the line in that tank, so I chose 1/4 over 1/8 mile, hoping to catch him at the top end. WELL, DAMN, I had him from the start ALL THE WAY until just before the finish line... and I mean he caught me in like the LAST 50 FEET!
Had a friend that owned one. That 455 was ridiculously powerful.
No more powerful than a 454, or a 460
Oldsmobiles made the coolest sound out of their exausts in those years. I miss my '70 Cutlass.
@snicker doo yeah well your just some boomer spunk that should've been left as a stain on the rug.
@@lk6912 As a load of boomer spunk, I can agree with that
@@DominicDarrell Well then, apparently your load of spunk was more appropriately placed.
Olds v8's sounded different from any others, including other GM V8s. Anybody who doesn't know that because they weren't alive yet needs to study up and quit being a dumbass. I have a '69 Toronado with the 455.
Nothing like the sound of a 455 rumbling! Father-in-law and I put a 455 in an 18' Slickcraft with a Alpha 1 outdrive on it and 9" exhaust. That boat was insane! Could put a 27" pitch prop on it!
a youtube classic for me
I had one of these in high school, paid just $200. Bucks for it, one of my all time favorites.
455 is so underestimated its a monster
Now THAT is what Oldsmobile is all about. To see an ordinary sized car do this is nice, but to see a 5000-lb beast do it, now that took some serious dedication and work to the whole car in general. That nodular crank is really putting out thanks to the goodies added, the converter and final drive gears simply add to the team. I think 'Christine' has met her match.
spikedpunk crank er UP!
@First Name Last Name harshh
hahahahaha man seeing that land yacht do that was great!
He did it with *style* - even laid a hazy burner over that side of the road rumbulator strip.
I had a 1969 Olds 98 convertible 455 Rochester 4 barrel.
Extreme power and smooth ride combined.
10 years later, and this made me smile. That big boat doing what it was never designed to do, I love it.
455ci loud and proud
Sweet ride. My great grandfather worked for Olds for 40+ years. The sound of an Olds engine is so unique. I came home from the hospital when I was born in his last car.....a 1969 Cutlass Supreme.
Olds power forever! God bless your great grand dad.
You just made my day my best friend had the same exact car and he died in Afghanistan fighting for our country. Not a day goes by I dont think of him. R.I.P. Seth Garceau

But why would you give your life for a country ? People see heros but those heros are just a little too stupid. Bush wanted to take irak, afghanistan for the petrol or for fake shit... tell him to go get it himself, why the fuck would YOU go get it for him ???? i really dont undesrtand those clowns... i would never leave my familly for a mf who wants war... soldiers are just toys and one people playing with them. @@isaacsrandomvideos667 im not talking about him, big respect for the dead ones... but cmon you know im talking about those who are actually in it... and again, theyre into war because your president want something that will get him richer, while soldiers are dying to get him what he wants, and worst part is that the soldiers know very well and they decide by themselves that they need to go there and fight to death and leave their family... i dont mind dying for my loved ones, but im never giving my life for a country, this "fight for my country" stuff is pure bullshit, youre country dont give a fuck about you, next day youre forgotten so for me it is really stupid to give your life for nothing
That's one of the best RUclips vids I've seen for a while, can't beat old school and full size. Oh yeah.
This video is a timeless classic. I want to pull into my driveway every day after work just like you. Party on!
Extremely cool. We used to call that doing a "Burt Reynolds" back in high school. That big ole boat sounds awesome.
one thing these videos don't show that you really have to appreciate in person, is _feeling_ these engines. When you hear that 455 revving, you feel it in your chest, your bones, as much as you hear it. it's something you can only really know when you experience it in person
Now THAT is NOT your father's Oldsmobile! Mad respect for getting that tuna boat to motivate with some pep! Spot on amigo.
What a sleeper :)
These Old's 98's are huge cars. My grandmas old tan one just like this (not as nice) is sitting in my cousins barn.
I watch this once every 3 months....along w/turbopat1969.......
Me too maybe more
This is what it looks like when grandad "accidentally" missed the driveway and needs to get to the bathroom
You made me laugh.

The sound of an Oldsmobile tearing up some rubber on the asphalt is the most beautiful of all sounds.
That guy can drive. We used to practice donuts in a empty parking lot trying to keep our front bumpers as close to the light standard while circling around it with our 80's Mustang's and Camaro's but with an older huge land yacht like that.. that's pretty damn good, too bad cars are not cool like that anymore.
Whenever I feel homesick, I come yo this video. It just sets me in a free world
This is spectacular.. Even the dog was waiting for it..😄
video is 13 years old, and I'm just seeing it now. best thing I've seen on yerterbz for a long time.
Us 70s kid's could sling them old sleds.that was awesome!
When I was young my dad had a 1969 Olds 98 with 455 four-door white with a black hardtop. I will Never forget it
I think I’ve watched this video a hundred times. It’s so cool.
OMG...I want that car. I LOVE old big luxury sedans with big engines.
I'm sure your neighbors love you guys!
That was hilarious. I also love how Bart gets out of the way when he sees the 98 coming.
I'LL NEVER STOP LOVIN MY OLDSMOBILE CAR'S
Nice! I had one of these as a teenager just getting my license,,,, yup that 455 would do that stuff all day! Lol
That's the coolest thing I've ever seen a car that big do!
Love it! I drove a Catalina for awhile , "floaten" , you know what I'm talking about.
That's awesome, love the dog that patiently sits down and waits, then hauls ass over to see the driver after he spins it around and flies into the driveway!
I had one of these back in 1993. And oh boy, how it reflected my life and times in those days! Ha! Ha! Ha! Dual front ashtrays, speed alarm on the cruise control, olive green paint with dark green interior and a black vinyl top... then that Olds 455 Rocket V8!!!
Great car, its awesome to see more of these "forgotten" models used as street rods. Perfect daily driver!
Love it! This is the same reason why we have C Body '70 Chryslers
Full 70’s car chase music. I love a wild barge.
This right here is living proof that 4 door tanks can be just as much fun as 2 door coupes! 🤘
That's how you turn a yacht inside of a pond around right there!!
"Stroker Ace was born too race"
I had one of those cars as a child and I miss it very much it was blue
I could smell the burnt tires in Tucson, one wicked Olds 98.
I sprayed my drink when he hit lit em up. 😳
Ive never been a big fan of real loud cars, but this... This is awesome.
We had a 72 back in the day, that 455 was a beast!
Oh my God my very first car was one of those my grandfather died and it was given to me in 1976.
We called it the rat I could not kill that car. We used to go down Hills and Pittsburgh turn the key off while the car was still running and then turn it on so it would backfire and we'd scare little ladies waiting for the bus. I couldn't even blow the a muffler up. Indestructible
My friend drove one of these to school, he had the fastest thing in the parking lot and didn’t know it
When I was a kid 17 my daddy's let me drive his Delta 88 with a 455 2-door Coupe that thing would like rubber all the way around the block and have air condition that you can hang meat in at the same time
Notice how the dog knows to chill as he's doing the doughnuts...but runs right to it when he pulls in.
Well trained pup.
My first car was a 1972 Olds 98 with the stock 455. Still the fastest I've ever been in a car at 135mph. I would have gone faster but the road was running out. And so comfortable.
Try an M5 mega quick
1 of my favorite video's...who ever is drying that car Can Drive.......#Handles
Why does seeing that make me so happy?:)
Why do I keep watching this over and over and over?
That was awesome! My dad had a 1973 Oldsmobile Delta 88. Once that car got wound up, it hauled ass! Kids with ricers would do burnouts and donuts. My dad was like "Hold my beer."
That’s a beautiful machine and an impressive doughnut for a car that’s probably well over 2 tons
I love the dog running towards the car at the end....he has good taste in cars
The most BADASS thing I’ve seen this year...fuck yea!!!! Even has the original hubcaps..TOP NOTCH SIR👍🏼🇺🇸
That’s when cars where made of real metal ..You could knock a fire hydrant over with these cars and Only have a small dent😂👍
That big old land yacht was making rooster tails in a "no wake" zone!
I had a 72 98 with the 455 4 bbl absolutely loved that car and it ran awesome but I never did this with it, AWESOME video love the 98 and pretty darned impressive!!!
This made my day! 😎. My uncle had one and we were trying to catch his ass in the “little general” sierra classic with the 454 and 4.10 gears. Man. Talk about holy shit. When I was a boy I saw the tail lights on that thing then I heard all 4 barrels open up on the truck. That’s a memory 😎😎
I remember watching this a long time ago. And I still love that acceleration sound. Reminds me of the old TV classics.
It has 10 to 1 ratio 455. I did extensive porting to make the xe274h cam really come to life.
I built & blueprinted a 10:1 Oldsmobile 496 Stroker with heavily ported J heads, I'm wondering how would this cam perform & do you still have power brakes? Mine engine is in a 1982 Cutlass Supreme I used the Edelbrock Performer Plus camshaft since it was just laying around brand new in the box when I started my build...
I MISS MY 1983 OLDSMOBILE ! 307 5.0 LITRE REAR WHEEL DRIVE
I love neighbors like that !!
455 Rocket baby! Love that beast.
Dude totally gnarly dude! Wonderful American Detroit pig iron😂
Fuck yeah! There is just something about a full size car and a angry big block motor!
Watched this so many times. Beautiful sound
Most of these 73' 98s had a 2.42 gear ratio. They did offer an optional 2.73 ratio if you special ordered it with the towing package.
I read the 2.73 was std and you could get a 2.93 and a 3.23 as well in '73
Did not expect that....lol
This is why i really love that crazy grandma car.
Looks like an old boat, but if u just tune up the engine you got really crazy stuff
So cool that every V8 has a definite specific sound signature. and how many people recognized that the guys dog is there to watch the show.
Back when America used to build stuff
Beautiful Car, Great Sound, Someday I hope my 76 98 can do that, Long Live the Big Boats!!
A buddy of mine had one of those back in the mid80s.. absolute monster of a motor.
My Mom drove a '69 Olds Ninety Eight, our dogs would hear the rumble of that 455 from blocks away. I did my best to wear out the rear tires.
