Charlamagne is not wrong but that's always been the case with professionals reviewing movies on their professions. Actual military personnel always saying how unrealistic military movies are. Medical professionals saying how unrealistic medical scenes in movies are. So not surprised actual boxing experts are saying how unrealistic this and other boxing films are. The technical and realistic aspects of professions are often mundane, routine, and boring hence why movies add extra flare to make it entertaining.

Killing it?! Calling Rocky dumb is a bit overreach. He was portrayed as a simple man but a simple man is not really dumb. You can be eloquent, well read and all but being smart is about winning in life and Rocky won by making the fight and putting everything into it even though the odds were against him.

It's from Joe Louis. The Bum of the Month Club. At his height he was fighting anyone who'd get in the ring with him, month after month a new bum would enter the ring and get destroyed. But they legitimately had a shot. They got in the ring with the champ. He gave nobodies a shot at the title. That's where Sly came up with the idea for Apollo having the fight.

When he met Adrian everything went real fast. He probably never invisioned himself getting married. Words can come out stupid when you can’t express yourself naturally. And don’t forget rocky considered himself just another bum from the neighborhood….your not looking at Rocky’s personality from the correct lense. I don’t know how old you are but remember this was in the 1970s. A much more laid back era.

He beat the first guy because he injured him before hand, then fought dirty and attacked his injury, plus Felix was arrogant and wasn’t listening to his corner. When he fought Creed they explained that Creed had a ton of injuries, was coming out of retirement, and was also fighting guilt, while Dame was “fresh” from not being in a ton of physically taxing fights, studied Creed to a T, and was a stand-out amateur boxer which means he already had the skill. I boxed for years and trained other people, and it made sense to me.

The true story aspects..individual character stories..Thornton's contribution..The movie's epic Permian vs. Carter finale..emotions throughout the story(ies)...The beautiful music score _(Explosions in the Sky 🎶 , etc., etc.)._
I've never watched the tv series inspired by the 'Friday Night Lights' book and the great sports movie, but the film won the *Best Sports Movie ESPY Award* .
Creed 3 was mediocre. Jonathan Majors is really an amazing actor… Dudes got depth.. Film was entertaining some levels , but a disappointment overall … And they just had to have the little white girl bully the def black girl🤭

Movie was okay but they are just milking the franchise. The story was not really thought out well enough to say it's a good movie. The boxing sequences were good but it's not a good movie if you don't think about watching it again.

... The Rocky films were racist lol. They fed into the white inferiority complex from the early 1900s when white people racial rotting because their great white hopes couldn't beat John Johnson, an undefeated Black boxing champion who started sleeping with white women despite miscegenation being illegal. Fats forward Muhammad Ali is now the greatest boxer in the world; to let him tell it- they couldn't beat Muhammad Ali in the ring, so they beat him in the film (Apollo Creed was Muhammad Ali personified as a character archetype).
There was also the fact that in the first film, when a waiter makes a racist comment about Creed to Rocky, Rock's response was 'don't disrespect the title', not 'don't be racist'.
Then there's the fact that the antagonist of all the Rocky films were Black. Other than 4, when it became a horror film (the Black man dies).
The fact that they made a statue of Rocky in Philadelphia before one of Joe Frazier- an actual, real life boxing champion from Philly- shows how Rocky really was to attack the Black boxer in ways that white people couldn't do in real life.

Yeah, I’m gonna skip the Rocky spinnoff that can’t even be bothered to have Rocky in it. The last Creed movie was trash anyway except for the scenes that had Ivan Drago or Rocky in them.
The film is basically black supremacist propaganda. It doesn’t capture boxing the way the Rocky films did, by bringing a culture in Rocky’s case Italian culture that loves boxing- it felt real. Boxing is a universal sport with the majority of its champions coming from Mexico /Latin countries - the film did a poor job and possibly on purpose to continue their agenda. Do not recommend the film At All!

The movie was incredibly trash. The story line is so cliche - the woke , Black supremacist propaganda in films is getting out of hand. Boxing isn’t Wakanda land. Boxing is universal with the majority of the champions coming from Mexico/Latin American backgrounds. This film did a piss poor job at representing other cultures who CARRY boxing. Terrible film.
