    Authentic Chinese Crystal Shrimp & Pork Dumplings (Har Gow)
    Ingredients:
    For the Filling:
    500g peeled and deveined shrimp, 300g finely chopped, and 200g chopped
    150g fatty ground pork
    Shrimp Marination:
    1 teaspoon sesame oil
    2 teaspoons sugar
    1/4 teaspoon white pepper
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon chicken bouillon powder
    2 teaspoons corn starch
    For the Dumpling Wrapper:
    450g wheat starch, turned into dough with hot water
    100g potato starch
    150g pork lard
    Instructions:
    1. Prepare the Filling:
    Marinate the finely chopped shrimp with sesame oil, sugar, white pepper, salt, chicken bouillon powder, and cornstarch. Set aside.
    Mix the ground pork with the chopped shrimp. Set aside.
    2. Make the Dumpling Wrapper:
    Mix the wheat starch dough with potato starch until well combined.
    Fuse pork lard with the dumpling dough to create a smooth texture.
    3. Roll and Cut the Dough:
    Roll the dough and cut it into desired-size pieces.
    Roll each piece into a round dough ball and flatten it with your palm.
    4. Prepare the Dumplings:
    Use an oiled knife to flatten each dough ball as demonstrated in the video.
    Place a spoonful of the shrimp and pork filling onto each flattened dough wrapper.
    Wrap the filling with the dough, sealing it tightly.
    5. Steam the Dumplings:
    Steam the dumplings in a steamer for 8 minutes.
    After steaming, let the dumplings rest for 5 minutes.
    6. Serve and Enjoy:
    Enjoy the Crystal Shrimp & Pork Dumplings alone or with a side of sweet chili sauce for dipping.

    Bought this dumpling item frozen at my local Chinese ethic store and steam it at home. oh Wow it was so good.
    just had it for supper and left overs for Breakfast, it was delicious and yummy.

    Your mom speaks very good Cantonese. I can understand only some of the things she says. I'm SA born Chinese with ancestral roots from Guangzhou; can hardly speak Cantonese and wouldn't even recognize my name in Chinese even if it was shown to me on a piece of paper. So sad.😰
