Thank you for sharing! I have a true passion for bookkeeping (well numbers, actually!). I also prepare tax returns. This allows me to offer services from beginning to end. Plus, if you do the business bookkeeping, it makes doing the tax return so much easier, and allows the client to keep his numbers under one roof! I'm a SP, work at home and always looking for new clients.

I have this huge dream to have a bookkeeping business. And I realized, just knowing the accounting principles and some of excel functions is not enough. Hi! I'm whole into your videos! So much value in them! I'm an experienced (over 23 years in this field) restaurant and disco club former owner and I did books and taxes for my business. It was in Poland 7 years ago. I'm in the USA now trying to develop my skills here. I'm doing Business Administration Program and QuickBooks Certification course in Continuing Education School here, in El Paso TX. I'm thinking to work with restaurants owners as a freelancer, doing their books and helping with marketing, which is the second field I know and love. Looking forward to your "tips and tricks" about bookkeeping and making business with it :)

Now I will go thru all your tutorials and hone myself to come up as your good disciple. I will be grateful if you can guide how to start from scratch and start picking up business. I did my MBA in finance and worked from 1980 to 2000 in finance but in Abu Dhabi where taxes are not considered. Came to U.S. and worked in other fields. Now I have decided to take up Accounting but as I am not a CPA I would rather take up Book Keeping and concentrate with my full diligence. Please provide your valuable guidance so that I and my other friends can benefit from you.

Hi Anthony. No, you absolutely don't need a CPA to have a successful bookkeeping business. In fact, I tend to downplay the fact that I am a CPA because so many people tend to think that I provide tax services since I am a CPA. Experience is a must, and I'm glad to see that you have experience.
@@5MinuteBookkeeping That's great to hear. I have a year of public accounting experience but I found my way into corporate accounting a few months ago. Would you say that experience and my Master's in accounting is a good start?
Yes, absolutely. I have an audit background too and I found it to be invaluable. I also have a background in corporate accounting. You may want to brush up on some tax basics, in particular, types of corporate entities, and how owners/shareholders/partners are paid depending on the business entity. That comes in handy.

Good day, Ms. Wasek, I tried to access the free quickbooks proadvisor certification, i cant proceed because the portal requires to input the accounting firm name and zip code number. I don't have my own business yet. Is it possible to proceed still? if yes, how?

You could use your own name for the business name.

I don't know how you can find those companies. But, if you join Facebook groups for virtual bookkeepers, such as my group (5 Minute Bookkeeping with QuickBooks Online), then you may see job openings posted in the group.
mam if you running a business of bookkeeping you might have workload so its better to consider others too, heir them because their is a lots of people who dont know how do online bookkeeping like me
I have a team of very well trained employees and they do most of the work. I train, mentor, and oversee them.

How did you become a Quickbooks expert? How did you train people In person or online?
I started by getting certified in QBD and later in QBO. Then, I learned everything I could about QB. I also trained lots of people on QB - which helped me to learn how business owners are using QB and also to learn about the biggest mistakes that they make. I have trained people both in person and online. My team now does the training and we use Zoom (online).
