    I've watched a few podcasts/interviews with Matthew. He seems to be a fascinating yet genuine guy. Being from Army Special Forces. I can say that we love being "Quiet Professionals" and not giving a shit whether or not if anyone ever knows what we do or don't do. As far as i'm concerned the Navy Seals can have and keep all the glory. Because we don't want it and we don't care.

      I think Army SOF does care - they're jealous AF but they either aren't allowed to talk about it or aren't good yet at refining their presentations and making money from their expertise after their militant careers are over like Seals are. But Army SOF does care.

    The death of Melgar really made me realize that seals aren't really all that Heroish. Giving elete training to immature boys just makes them dangerous to everyone. Scary stuff. I did buy one very famous Seal's book and as I'm reading I just got the feeling most of it wasn't true. It's weird.

    While my brother as a Master Chief Officer in DEVGRU who served in Afghanistan and Iraq from 2002-2013 has a lot of issues with the lumping of all SEALs in with the bad apples like saying ALL officers let it slide and stuff, he says code over country and ALPHA on Eddie Gallagher are two of the most important books to read that he says are the most accurate but feels like he can’t speak out like Eric Deming for all of the good guys out there in fear of being a PNG in the community as a wounded warrior missing an arm and a leg still fighting for his life stateside from wounds he received in combat. He said from what he’s seen after serving side by side with Slab after Roberts Ridge that he was a puppet psychologically fucked and that Andy Stumpf, DJ Shipley or Eddie Penney are the only honorable community members who put themselves out in the public who he can verify are real good fighters for our country but also even better human beings. Thank you Matthew from the real brotherhood for speaking the truth and exposing the Eddie Gallagher/Syzmanski Valor Hunters.

    Hollywood and the Navy told Luttrell the movie was going to be made with or without him so in the end Marcus thought it would be better to be a part of it than not, so if you have any issues with that take it up with the Navy Brass

    • @Rake3577
      @Rake3577 2 года назад +4

      The military wouldn’t have allowed the truth behind red wings to emerge because the truth is 11 seals and 8 night stalkers were killed by 8 insurgents ( Ahmad shah and his crew were only 8-9 shooters tops ), and so talking a page out of the British propaganda cover up playbook ( bravo two zero ) they made up a story along with a Hollywood block buster to burry the shameful truth, and Lutrell who ran away and didn’t fire a single round ( Gulab stated when he found him he was unharmed and had all his equipment on him and Luttrell himself admitted it on 60 Minutes with Anderson Cooper that he put his weapon down and didn’t help his friends ) went along with it because he didn’t have a choice or else a court martial and maybe even the death penalty according to 10 U.S. Code § 899 - Art. 99. Misbehavior before the enemy.

    • @dukecraig2402
      @dukecraig2402 Год назад +5

      It wasn't just the "top brass", Luttrell's after action report, which is dated well before any book deals or Hollywood came calling, is full of nonsense like the number of enemy there was and a bunch of inconsistencies with the battlefield forensics and what was learned after Afghans, including Taliban who were there, were interviewed along with Marine intelligence who'd been monitoring that valley for some time.
      He embellished his story a good bit.

      He for sure actually respects and holds the military in high regard. However, as an investigative journalist, he respects and holds the truth in the highest regard above anything else. He says, and I agree, if these people are going out there with the American flag on their shoulders, we deserve to know the truth, if it's being told to us. If they step foot in another country, effectively being heroic, they are supposed to be upholding the values of our country as they do it. Otherwise they're just as bad as those whom they seek.
