The channel “Wings of Pegasus” did a much deeper analysis of this last week, including the use of pitch monitoring software to conclusively demonstrate that each of the shows are using the same vocal track. In other words, proved that Don Henley isn’t singing this song live in concert.
Don wanted to stop Eagles after Glenn, but others in the organization wanted to continue. Manager Irving Azoff proved it was a good deal with big stadium shows with Steely Dan & Fleetwood Mac. Those bands also later toured without key members. There's no excuse, but people love mostaligia.
Thankfully, I bought a couple of concert DVDs a long time ago and never bought tickets to a so-called live performance. I can watch those any time I want at no extra charge. What a deal!
Not enough people know about this. A couple of sad things (for me) that come to mind: How many others do this? I think, given what’s come out after this, it’s far more widespread than we realize. How many other “parts” or instruments, etc., are fakes? Auto-tune is just a dust mite compared to what else can be done-or is already.
They are also all playing to a click track, that's the only way the lip sync will work. Don't these guys have enough money, I'd be embarrassed as hell to end my career like this, not just Don but Joe Walsh too.
If only this technology existed in the 70s, Randy Meisner could have faked Take It To The Limit every night and we never would’ve been stuck with Timothy Beta Schmit.

It’s kind of like saying you don’t like CGI in movies without realizing how much CGI you’re watching that you don’t know is CGI. Lol. They also play a long to a click track in their in-ear monitors to make sure they hit those parts on time. That’s a feat in itself too. I’m not saying it’s right or wrong more stuff like this happens more than most people think in love productions. Especially these mega productions and even more so when peeps are in their 70s and up.

I'm devastated that Joe Walsh would have any part of this. Henley should learn from Walsh. Joe doesn't have the most beautiful voice, but he knows how to work the audience.
I think he brought this on to himself. After years of being a prick, it has been proven that he doesn’t sing live in concert and just lip syncs to a backing track. That’s just bad business for those who pay top dollar to see him and hear him live.

They, like every band, use Auto Tune. Which will carry the voice and make it look like they are lip syncing. I know Don, and he is a perfectionist, but he would not lip sync. Also, Joe wouldn't either.
Every band does not use auto tune. Auto tune can be heard when it’s used. It’s the echoey, weird sound you hear with manufactured bands. Pitch correction is harder to hear, but I can hear it, because it creates an artifact, and makes the vocals sound unnatural. These performances are lip synced. It’s undeniably the same track used in several different concerts from the last few years.
Joe Walsh doesn't lip sync. He can still sing in his old garbled voice. Don Henley does lip sync. It's pretty undeniable when you compare multiple concerts from different years.
