It's not easy to talk about the business boring stuff, and not have people's eyes glaze over. And this is where Anna's brilliance makes a world of difference.
I really love this series.
Yeah, attractive women can make almost anything interesting lol.
And don't forget the best tip of lawyering: Always save your game first before you do anything
You know you got it right when the music stops
I have a real OBJECTION! to that thumbnail.
I’m just here for the Phoenix Wright hype
Same
crash course serving ace attorney realness 🔥
I saw Phoenix Wright, I clicked
Same reason I clicked - the Phoenix Wright thumbnail haha
Same, came to see how many other people came for the same reason xD
Same im a sucker for AA 💖
You all got good taste
Yes 😍 if they had added a stepladder they would have won the internet.
I'm so happy learning with this series, Anna is one of my favorite hosts
john and hank got us boys, with that phoenix wright thumbnail, guess I'll have to binge crash course entrepreneurship when it finishes.
And us girls
@@nervengewitter fret not, women have as much penis as men do in my book
i honestly loved how helpful these videos are
Crash course and Anna Akana. My two favorite RUclipsrs😊😊
This series has been so helpful. I'm currently working with my local Job Service to get my business off the ground, so great timing!
Azzarinne what type of business are you starting?
Good stuff, and nicely timed for myself, since I'm currently choosing a business bank account.
Great job! Love how you make a dry subject a lively topic!
This is an amazing course. And it's even better that Anna is presenting it :)
The epitemy of this video was the fact that Phoenix Wright was in the thumbnail
This series is so helpful
5:58 I guess this might partially explain why when a corporation does something illegal the people responsible don't personally get punished.
Actually very helpful and informative video. Thanks!
Idc about legal studies but i’m here for the man, the myth, the legend. Nick
That's a stepladder.
This is needed info.
GOOD LORD so grateful for this series. I am an art school grad and I'm starting a business. This makes it so very understandable for my non-administrative brain. THANK YOU
Jared Boggess that is so exciting!! What is your business going to be about?
Anna and crash course 😮 one thing I didn't know I wanted lol
Great video with great value, thanks so much!
Excellent. Thank you so much.♥
When making a business, my largest concern when taking out loans or capital is that if the business fails, I will have little to no way to ever pay it back. Some debt spiral that I skillfully dodged for college I could get caught in with business.
Wrong. That's what bankruptcy is for. If the business fails, and cannot pay back its debts, filing for bankruptcy allows the company to default on those debts. Liability being limited means they can't get to you personally. Getting the same situation without a business to cover you through bankruptcy means they could take everything you own. But filing for bankruptcy is also regulated, and banks are only likely to give a loan to the company if the capital (ie, liability limit) is large enough to cover it realistically.
Phoenix Wright!
At what point is it mandatory to register a personal side hustle (mowing lawns , tutoring or babysitting) as DBA?
At what point is it mandatory to convert a DBA to a higher business classification?
I thought this episode was really helpful! It was a lot more concrete than some of the others so far, which I liked. :)
Anna, the witness: ".... pay your taxes--"
nobody: ...
me: "HOLD IT!" "OBJECTION!!!!"
Judge: "Bailiff!!!!!! take this guy!"
** crowd murmur ** **suspense bgm**
Judge: "Order to the court! Order to the court!!"
Thanks great vid
Interesting video!
ok thank you nice video
Damn it I forgot about the paperwork when I said I wanted to be an entrepreneur
I am Baffled I have to repeat
The video to really grasp The info
Clicked for Phoenix Wright, stayed for cute lady.....oh yeah and the legalese too.
12-13 minute mark:
Form an LLC, watch your business fail. Form a C-Corp, and the business you started will succeed... but you will be forced out by the investors.
Great message, CrashCourse!
"Paperwork" never sounded this good 13:13
Most of you clicked because of Phoenix Wright, and you know it.
You got me
and stopped the video when i saw it was this girl. made me cringe so hard
Am I the only one who doesn’t know this “Phoenix Wright” everyone in the comments is talking about?
it's a video game series set in court. You examine the facts, listen to testimonies and poke holes in various places by going 'objection!' or something like that. I've only watched a few videos, never actually played.
^above comment, but it's also being talked about here because the thumbnail has the game's main character
lol
I’ve heard about S-Corps. What are those?
Limited livability is so important.
Limited Liability? More like Limited Livability, am I right?
very helpfull
Objection!
I’ve often had Runaway Thoughts of starting a business.
Suddenly Phoenix Wright
You know, after watching these last 5 videos, I DON'T want to start my own business
I see Nick
I C L I C K
Nicc
So how does a S-Corp relate to the other structures? Is it close to a C-Corp?
Also, love crash course and all that you all do! Keep it up!
I don't have all the info on S corps, but I do know that one of the key features is that, unlike a C corp, they're limited to a certain number of shareholders (I think 100) maximum.
S-Corp and C-Corp are very similar in the way they are taxed. Both are doubled taxed. That is why most businesses start out as an LLC. Then if they want to go public they usually go with C-Corp. The perk of going S-Corp is how you are able to pay yourself and get away from some taxes. If you talk with a certified public account, they can usually tell what would work best for you when it comes to taxes.
(Adam Sandler) This is awsome!
OBJECTION!
that is all.
I come here for “Objection!”
you are the best
Please do accounting!
Thank you to whoever made that thumbnail!
I clicked for the Phoenix Wright thumbnail
OBJECTION!!!
Yeah
Phoenix Wright in the thumbnail
I clicked for Phoenix Wright
Stayed for Anna
Did this get recommended to me solely because I got into PW recently
OBJECTION!!
Naive question:
Where does it say "Their decisions have to be based on what makes the most profit for the stockholders"?
While this is a common assumption, where is it set down in stone?
As the U.S. Supreme Court recently stated, "modern corporate law does not require for-profit corporations to pursue profit at the expense of everything else, and many do not do so." - Cornell Law School. But! Shareholders can vote out a CEO who doesn't make profit, so any CEO who wants to keep is job will pursue profit.
@@ChemoshKamos yes, it's up to the shareholders. But it is not a legal requirement. That's often believed.
Dodge v. Ford Motor Co.
I only clicked for Phoenix Wright
There are fewer Phoenix Wright-related comments than I had expected.
異議あり!
Thanks for the advice. I went and registered my cartel, the brothel, the money laundering casino, the counterfit printed bills press and the waste managment fascility of the nuclear power plant in Bulgaria. Ahh, so better to be legit...
You know I could be the first, but I miss the part where it's my problem.
12:40 did she just describe Khan academy 😂
i literally screamed “phOENIX?!”
lionheartedLightning no you didn’t. Stop exaggerating for upvotes.
Jayfive276 this isn’t reddit
What about S-Corp?
Not gonna lie, I clicked because of Nick
A B-Corb isn't a formal legal structure
I noticed that the video made it seem like it was a legal structure as well. I thought it was just me.
How many times did she say Taxes?
Who else is only here because of the Phoenix Wright thumbnail
12:35 venture capitalists
I guess i will wait for crash course: black market.
good lecure
Omfg its anna akana!!!!!
DO YOU'RE TAXES!!! Who do they think I am Wesley Snipes?
*_...if your company is high tech (e.g. boomboxes) you also have to comply with federal US Code (law) that you're not selling, providing, servicing, products, to convicted drug junkies... (starting and staying, legal)..._*
venture capitolists?
......
John?
Chart your own path!!!! Wow.
Create an app!!! Wow.
Special programs to waive fees!!! Wow.
I’m doing this !!!! Thanks!!!!
Whatzup!!!! So funny!!
How do all these options apply if one is disabled (SSDI - social security disability insurance)
Being on disability limits the amount of hours u can work and the amount of money u can make
This is a fantastic question that a lawyer would be able to help you answer. But from my understanding is that you could own shares in the business but could not work in the business. SSDI does not say you can not use the payments to buy stocked or shares. They just will not allow you to work.
@@GoogleSheetsFanboy thank you
we need crash course download interaction math it is a very import
and we thank good luck
But does DT fill taxes?
Gre Gre yes he just doesn’t pay them bc the tax rules are written to help real estate owners

12:35 Venture Capitolist? Isn't it "capitalist"?
Phoenix Wright lol
Why not D. James Stone?
I’m a simple woman. I see Phoenix Wright, I click. I don’t see Phoenix Wright in the first 10 seconds, I stop watching.
Hahahah same.
I'm still on Spirit of Justice currently btw.
If only you could add english sub. Because i want to learn english
you forgot S-Corp
I know she has a good voice. Do. you think she can be a voice actor?
There are no owners in a nonprofit.

Not really liking that noise made during screen transitions. Otherwise, great video!
