Dude, you are awesome. I got educated on this whole SSL business, turned on the SSL with my host (InMotion) and installed the plugin on my WordPress site to get that green lock on my website - all in less than 2 hours. Thanks to you!
Love really simple SSL.... makes it real easy! Once in a while I will find a url hard coded into my CSS that I will have to change manually, but REALLY SIMPLE SSL handles the rest!
Many thanks for this video, I have spent days trying to get my SSL Certificate to work with my WP website, I tried different plugins, but with the help of this video, it was fixed under 1 minute. Thank you so much once again.
HostGator just notified me today that: "Google's decision to mark non-HTTPS websites "not secure" takes effect soon. " This video was so quick and easy, and worked. Thank You!!
In fact I did this today 11/24/2018, and it worked like a charm. I didn't need to add, or install anything else, besides the Really Simple SSL plug-in. My websites started showing https right after the installation. Thanks a lot for the info, ride on!!!
I saw a lot of your videos and all of them great, NOW I asked myself why I did not make a subscription!! I made it man. THank you so much :) One question? why it's appear in my site the following three triangle ? 1-HTTP Strict Transport Security is not enabled (premium) 2-warning Secure cookie settings not enabled (premium) 3-warning No mixed content scan performed (premium) Thanks in Advance
Hello - I went into the backend of my site and changed the http to https to make it secure (I got the security certificate from godaddy) and now I can't access my site - any ideas? The site is makeroom.org and the message I get is ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR
A great simple video. My host Godaddy didn't tell me that I had to install a plug in to Wordpress and the non secure symbol kept comping up in my URL. This vid was great. A VERY VERY BIG THUMBS UP and many many thanks. Cheers Kym
Great videos! Have watched a bunch in past few days! If you see this... This all worked great EXCEPT I'm getting the triangle on every page with images. I've tried keeping the default settings and changing the 'Switch mixed content fixer hook' option. Still getting it. Do you know how to fix? Is it a plugin issue not working? How do I secure my images so I can have the green lock on every page?
This was so stressing me out this week. Barely understood what I needed to do after getting my ssl certificate. This solved my headache in 3 mins. Thank you.
Thanks for your video. You saved me 300 euros that my hosting provider was requesting me to pay to install it for me. After 3 days contacting their customer service and uploading keys that didn't work. Thanks so so much. After your video it too me 1 min to Install Thanks so so much.
Hostgator ssl was free for me so no problems there - This simple video did the trick for me, downloaded it followed the steps and that was it really. bang on the money dude keep going and thanks for the video
I would like to be able to thank you 100 times. I could not even get my own web hosting company to make this as simple. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Hey i really apprecriated it! .Your video is always very helpful to me everytime I run into a problem. So now my website has become https: D One more question: How could I add www in front of domain? Thank you
Thank you so much. It's really helpful for me and It's worked my site. But I have an question: Is it trusted plugins plz?? by the way Now Subscribed your channel. Keep it up
Brunson says use cloudflare. Most of his clickfunnel customers use it. Point the domain servers there. Its free and is a full ssl allowing stripe direct usage.
Thank you sooo much! I had a not fully secure website for half a year and didn't even know from where to start fixing the problem. I was uploading all pictures manually again that took a day to do it and it was still not fully secure. And now it is finally secure! Thak you very much!!! Also, wanted to ask, our hosting system provides only 2 free ssl certificates. Do you know how to get and install one for free? It looks fairly complicated in other videos. And we use 1and1 hosting system and not cpanel which is the most common in youtube videos.
Thank You So much My Dear, one thing you have forget that when someone add ssl certificate on running website, google need to renew setting in google search console and google analytics
You are a God sent! I was about to cancel my plans of purchasing a booth to attend Bitcoin Ben's event to launch my website. Broke down and bought ssl certificate at godaddy for $70 and they told me I was out of luck and could not help me redirect. Your way worked flawlessly ! U DA MAN !
Haya buddy Thanks for your help, I'll go buy a SSL now from my host, and use this if i can, However talking about the easy steps about WordPress can you do an easy video on - Yost SEO and define how to mainly use Focus keyphrase
So happy to hear that. Yes there have been many people that have learned English by watching my videos because I speak very clearly. Or so that's what I've heard.
I've been scratching my head and otherwise putting this off for a number of months now - knowing it was something I should really ought to do - but after watching your video, I wondered really why I hadn't done this any sooner! Thanks for the great video, really helped! :) P.S This worked for me first time.
Hey Jordan, I'm happy to here that you finally took the plunge and I totally understand the putting it off part. I do that all the time. However I'm glad you got it done now and your website will now be encrypted.
i dont understand why people talk down about hostgator i never had an issue with them. i got my ssl certificate installed with the help of this video with no problem.
Are you monitoring the uptime of your website? I have a video on that if you're not. My guess is that you are not monitoring the uptime because earlier this month they had about 48 hours of downtime. But you wouldn't know that unless you were monitoring the uptime. Also are you monitoring the speed of your website?
i do monitor time to time, but how ever every hosting company have flaws and down time here and there, nothing is perfect just saying.... have a nice day man
The only way to know your websites uptime is to use a service like uptime robot, which is free, that will check your website every five minutes to make sure it's online. The issue of speed, is even more crucial. If your website takes more than a few seconds to load people are not going to stay on it to see the content and they're going to leave. This leads to a high bounce rate which Google is aware of and will devalue your website.
Great video. Easy to understand. I have a quick question. When switching from http to https, do we need to notify webmaster tools and also re-issue a sitemap? Also, what about third party content, say a video from youtube. How do we force it to be https on our website? Finally, I activated the plugins, but the images were broken, so I deactivated. Any recommendations? Thank you!
Hey so i'll try to answer all your questions. You don't need to notify webmaster tools, however if you want you can to speed up the reindexing of the site. The reason you don't is because the plugin puts in place all the proper redirects to notify google that you switched to https. All content you embed on your site needs to be https as well, but most are. RUclips is only over https. When you activate and then enable the plugin it will force everything to go over https, and automatically redirect all traffic to https.
Thanks for the quick reply. I noticed when I activated the plugin, some of the images were broken. So I deactivated. Any answers how to fix? Thank you again. :)
Thanks Adam for this video! it is really very helpful, i just saw this msg in my wordPress after activated my SSL, 'SSL activated! Don't forget to change your settings in Google Analytics en Webmaster tools' how i can change my settings in google?
That is interesting. I know that Google Webmaster tools will be able to tell that you have added a security certificate and not require you to change anything. What I would do is in a day or so take a look at Google analytics and see if it is still tracking your traffic.
Hello Adam! Thank you so much for doing this video. I am completely out of touch with this world of business but your tutorials are terrific for people like myself. I found your video after I had already signed up for Cloud flare through my hosting provider, Blue Host. The problem is that within cloud flare my SSL settings it says Ineligible for SSL. How can I fix this?
You probable set it up wrong. You want to set it up directly at cloudflare, I think you used the cpanel integration which is not the way to do it. You should check out my more recent video on it.
Adam... is buying a cheap SSL cert , better? seems like I can buy one for 5 bucks a year. Also... I plan to sign up for inmotion via your affiliate link. Can I buy a SSL cert anywhere (like Nanmecheap) and use it on inmotion hosting? Or do your recommend where to buy a cheaper SSL cert? Thanks
It's not really going to be any better, but there are other additional costs that you incur that you may not be aware of. So most hosts are going to require that you get a static IP address which will cost you an additional four dollars per month. So while the cost of the actual SSL certificate is minor, the cost of the static IP address is not so minor. So this is why getting a free SSL certificate through Cloudflare will save you a lot of money.
Hi Adam, I applied for SSL and changed the name servers to assigned cloud flare new name servers to my domain name servers. While waiting for the SSL certification to be completed, I also install the plugin really simple ssl. Midway, there was a message that said the site is not secure, and that need to do safety logout. Now can't log in at all...it's blank. Is this because the server can't detect the old name servers already while in transition. Please advise. I am nervous now.
hello sir I updated clouflare name servers on my hosting panel then installed two plugin called cloudflare & really simple ssl then I activated really simple ssl afterwards I am not able to login WordPress can you please give me some solution
Did you get this fixed? I'm having the same issue. I followed the same but everytime I tried to activate Really simple ssl, my whole website crashes! I've been on the phone to tech for 4 days now :(
THANK YOU !!!!!!!! This video saved me so much headache, you rock!!! Thought I was going to have to pay a web developer, thanks for the save!!!!! A+++++++++++++++++++++
If you first installed it on http then changed to https, and wanted to use it via https, then yes. you would need to change the url in the Mautic local config file.
It would be in the options table. There's a spot there were your URL is. But that's nothing to fix all the areas in your content or you may have images embedded in its using a HTTP.
Hi! I love this fix but unfortunately, it didn't work for me. I installed the plugin and although the I get green ticks for all the detected setup, when I go to different browsers, it's still showing the warning sign up. How do I fix this? Thanks
Hi Adam, Thanks for the video. It seems to be working fine on my site however some pages I have the full green lock. The on others is has a little warning symbol because only parts of the website are safe. Do you know how to fix this? Thanks EDIT: Turns out I figured out the problem. I using Elementor as my page builder. What I need to do is go into each page I have designed with Elementor and resave it. Luckily my website is small so it's easy but hate to think if you had built a huge website.
Thank you so much for coming back to your comments and adding your update to it. There is an easier way, Elementor has a setting to change it for you. If you go into the Elementor settings you will see it there. It will essentially change the URL for you.
Thank you for this. It's extremely helpful. I use host gator for a client and you had mentioned how they extort money from clients. Can you tell me more, please? What are the best host sites? I obtained a domain from Godaddy and use HostGator to host. But can I change this? Thank you.
Amazing. Your 5 minute tutorial easily solved nearly 5 days of confusion and luckless "customer support" episodes. Proud!
Wow, thanks! Happy that it helped.
Dude, you are awesome. I got educated on this whole SSL business, turned on the SSL with my host (InMotion) and installed the plugin on my WordPress site to get that green lock on my website - all in less than 2 hours. Thanks to you!

Thanks, helpful to add basic encryption and trust if you have multiple sites and dont want to pay for SSL Certificates
Yes this is a perfect solution if you don't want to pay for an SSL certificate, and easier ways to do this will definitely be coming out this year.
I saw a lot of your videos and all of them great, NOW I asked myself why I did not make a subscription!! I made it man.

It's not really going to be any better, but there are other additional costs that you incur that you may not be aware of.
How long did you wait after making the changes at Cloudflare?
hello sir
I updated clouflare name servers on my hosting panel
then installed two plugin called cloudflare & really simple ssl
then I activated really simple ssl afterwards I am not able to login WordPress
can you please give me some solution
Did you get this fixed? I'm having the same issue. I followed the same but everytime I tried to activate Really simple ssl, my whole website crashes! I've been on the phone to tech for 4 days now :(
It's actually *VERY* easy to create your own certificate using lets encrypt, so even if your host does want money, just do it yourself.
Yes indeed. However not all hosts support it yet. Hopefully that will change soon.

Does InMotion Hosting do SSL certificates for free?
No web host gives you SSL certificates for free.
Thanks, very helpful.
You're welcome, glad it was help to you.
THANK YOU !!!!!!!! This video saved me so much headache, you rock!!! Thought I was going to have to pay a web developer, thanks for the save!!!!! A+++++++++++++++++++++
Does your self hosted Mautic installation need settings adjustment to work with your SSL certificate?
If you first installed it on http then changed to https, and wanted to use it via https, then yes. you would need to change the url in the Mautic local config file.
It worked. And easy, too. Thanks. Now off to do my other sites.
That's great Work In Mama TV! Thanks for watching.
A Great video. i have it. Thanks so much.
Your welcome Alphonse! Thanks for watching.
cool, just for curiosity, if i want to change it manually, what should i do in the phpmyadmin?
It would be in the options table. There's a spot there were your URL is. But that's nothing to fix all the areas in your content or you may have images embedded in its using a HTTP.
Thanks you're the man.
You're welcome.
Hi! I love this fix but unfortunately, it didn't work for me. I installed the plugin and although the I get green ticks for all the detected setup, when I go to different browsers, it's still showing the warning sign up. How do I fix this? Thanks
