Dianne, you're by far the most approachable and lovely artist to watch and learn art information from. I love spending time with your videos. Thank you so much!
Wow, thank you! It's a pleasure to make these available.
I told my daughters years ago the invention of the internet was to show people how little they know. Your explanations are so clear. Thank you very much.
My pleasure. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for simplifying this concept. As artists we ask ourselves: "What is the colour doing? Is it transitioning it's hue, value, saturation?". Mimic these transitions using the skill of gradation. So helpful to see the transitions in action.
Have fun with it Deb, and keep flourishing!
This is the most valuable tip ever for artists. A painting can look so much better when the value placement is correct.. most student artists focus on shape & form so much that they neglect value
Thanks! One of the most difficult parts of teaching painting is to get the student's attention off trying to get the image right and focus on seeing what's in the reference and how to use it.
Another winner from you, Diane! Clear, precise, super helpful! Including rarely pointed out tips like 'value correction' of the complementary colour to transition towards neutral!
Thanks.
Thank you Dianne. Your colour mixing tips are brilliant as always, and so are all other tips as well .
You are so welcome, Christer. You probably can tell that I enjoy doing these.
As usual, brilliant communication skills. Thank you
Thanks for that!

04.13.2023 Thank you, Dianne. This is one of the elements I was missing in my painting. I will give it a go and see how it turns out.
Have fun with it.

Thankyou for this explanation and demonstration. The transition and blending and colour , I’m going to have to practice this and the colour wheel has taken on a new meaning for me! Prior to these tips colour wheels were lost on me!! So much to learn, but loving it. I appreciate your gift so much. Thankyou again.
I am delighted! Thanks for subscribing.
I was struggling with trying to transition color by mixing new colors and lightening with white . No wonder my paintings look harsh. What an essential lesson. Love your teaching! Million thanks .
Have fun with it.
Great tip. I'll jump on again in the fall. I learned much and I know it will continue upon my return. Everyone should be a member :) Thank you!
The real payoff is when new knowledge is working for you while painting. Enjoy the journey.

Master Dianne, thanks a million as always... this tip is helping me a lot because I'm rendering multicolor Australian birds which have several transitions in hue and value. For me this tip has refreshing my mind. Thank you so much Diane. Greetings from Mexico City!

My pleasure.
Very thank you 😊
You're welcome 😊
Once again, thank you so much for explaining this, however, towards the end I started to lose the plot. But, I have gained more knowledge into blending and let’s hope my paintings turn out that much better because of your demonstration.
It's practicing the concept that makes it work. Play with it before trying to create a painting.
👍👍
Thanks.
How do you get your color wheel to stay on with easy off and on again?
The whiteboard I am using is magnetic. I have the color wheel backed with small magnetic strips that I got from Amazon.
