These lyrics were written to be from specific scenes in the ORIGINAL game (not Crisis Core, but the original Final Fantasy 7) Aerith's life in the slums, her first meeting with Cloud that ended up starting her journey, her appearance in his dream as she ventured alone into the City of Ancients to summon Holy, the great sorrow her comrades felt when she died, and her ever-supportive presence even from the lifestream.

This is why I love looking my old playlists from yearsss ago. We forget the little pearls like this song, but after finding them back years later, they still manage to bring back those same feelings. ❤️
I never knew I could love Aerith's theme more than I already do. The lyrics captures Aerith's selfless love for Cloud. They may be apart but she's always there to heal, protect and support him. And this is kind of parallel to "Hollow" which is Cloud's song for her.
I truly hope that aerith will be saved.
After the remake, this song fits even better and is a wonderful match to Cloud's "Hollow"
'No Promises to keep' is good, but Erutan's voice goes well with Aerith's
Years after my wife died my daughters wanted me to play ff7 and be present to watch the end of the game. Kate’s inspired song of ff7 brings a shared realization with others who have lost a person that love does not die.
I just started crying without any warning around the first chorus. I'm...not even the hugest FF7 fan, but Aeris and Cloud's connection was always special to me. The best part of the FF7 universe for me.
Can we all just agree: whatever reason we came here; whether we were original players of FF7 or newbies..

I keep coming back to this cover even after 10+ years because it still is so beautiful. Also agree that the lyrics hit harder with the remake out. Fits "Hollow" really well!
Still amazing 14 years later.
My father passed away two months ago... Being the first close family member to go, things were different without him. However, since then, I had trouble expressing how I felt and I couldn't cry because I wasn't veeeery close to him. After listening to this song, I started tearing up for the first time, thinking about how I should have been closer to him but now it's too late. I feel this song helped me open up my feelings and bring closure to us. Thank you. :')
