- I finally snatched a scanner radio, Uniden BC370CRS, that I have had on my wishlist for over a year. This scanner has a few features that other scanner do not have that I was looking for.

I have the BC340, the smaller brother to this and love having the AM band. Mine came with the AM loop antenna as well which is often missing. The BC370 is on my want list.
I wish they'd come out with a digital scanner thats this easy to program
I only noticed after buying the BC365CRS that it does not have AM so I was a bit frustrated me so Iooked in eBay for a model that has an AM band and I found this model a BC345CRS.
at least both have 220 - 380 Mhz

Have you tried using an Antenna Slitter for your Discone Antennas - so they can be used for Multiple applications?
Yes but it take a number of cable adapters.

I recently scooped a new BC345crs at a London Drugs store because of the military air band feature, although I have not been successful at catching air force planes as of yet but I did pick strange pirated satellite Russian CB style communications, very faint due to narrow FM signal on AM uhf receive 258.350, 262.425, 269.662, 253.862, 255.550 MHZ are a few you could try. I use a home made 8 element log periodic antenna i built for 220 to 450 MHZ still no military planes though. I Might program some Boeing factory test frequencies 150 miles away, also on uhf air.
Typically VHF and UHF stations have be line of sight to receive.
On rare occasions I can pick up aircraft on VHF up to 180 miles away when those planes are at full altitude. I do, at times hear the Everett Boeing factory radio flight test communications on VHF 123.000 to 123. 500 area, so UHF coverage might also be possible too.
Has this radio got sideband.
I see it's got ham on it just wondering how it picks it up with no sideband.

No. Some hams do not use sideband.

I have seen them on Ebay sometimes. That is where I got this one.
I rarely see them anymore on ebay they are hard sought after radio scanner I'm lucky to have one myself they just dont make them like they use too.I mean you get the Atomic clock,NIST Satilite sync,seprarate large clock screen,all hazzards alarm,AM radio in whitch the newer model BC365crs does not have any of these features.

Strange. Have tried unplugging it for a hour? Sometimes my squelch stops working and if I leave it unplug for a while is starts working again.
Question, if the local police have switched to digital this unit will not work?
You are correct, it will not track digital.
@@hamrad88 How do I find out if the local police are digital or analog? Call and ask sounds a little suspisous. I live in a very rual place and it would be good to know what is going on around here.

Unfortunately Uniden discontinued this model which I think is stupid. You can't find this radio anywhere on the internet not even on eBay. I can find 340CRS 345CRS and 365CRS Bearcats all day long brand new and they are the older models but not the 370CRS.
