  • Professional tips. DIY leaf spring replacement, and alignment hacks from the experts. in todays video we replaced old soft ford leaf springs out for some 4” lift Chevy 52” springs. also we previously completed one ton swap in this blazer getting a dana 60 kingpin axle up front and a 14 bolt axle in the rear. we have a b-52 kit in the front suspension slowing for adjustability in the front leaf springs. we have springless top steering caps with bronze bushings from northwest fab along with one ton crossover steering from wfo concepts with bent drag link and a home made dip hydro assist tapped into my factory steering box. we’re running Mickey Thompson DC fun country 44/18.5-15 tires on 15x10 “wagon wheel” style wheels. also have 4” lift 63”
Chevy springs out back paired with a shackle flip kit and adjustable spring hanger kit from cfm industries.

I’ll do walk around videos of my friends rigs too and my dads. We got about 5 of us that go up wheeling together pretty regularly. I’ll see about maybe releasing a video or 2 a month of other people’s rigs as well

Did you add a shim on the top of the passenger side spring? Not sure but it looks like you're leaf springs are getting messed up on the passenger side. You need to add a shim on top of the spring.

Yeah I did because it’s a kingpin 60 but I’ve since taken all of the shims out and it’s better

I’ve done a similar spring swap with my blazer. Are you having an issue with the front spring, rear frame mount bushing flexing with the axle as you steer? Not sure how to address but maybe energy bushings?

I’m sure I do hahaha so I did hydro assist which really took alot of steering stress off the frame and I also upgraded to the offroad designs rear spring eye hanger kit. With poly bushings and my springs have poly bushings all the way around too.
