Just an FYI, the Ash of War for the Loretta's War Sickle can actually be found as a standard Ash of War that you can put on any scythe/polearm, so I'm sure you could find a better weapon to put it on for Strength/Int.
Yeah i actually have it. I completely spaced on it being the exact same as the lorrettas war sickle. I do enjoy the weapons moveset overall though. So no loss there.
Seeing that dude towards the end use quickstep with an ultra greatsword (colossal?) actually looked dope and seemingly a decent way to combat the slowness of the weapon, at the cost of an offensive art.
For the most part, it seems to be a good trade off. Made Chase have to work for that kill, and he could buff up the weapon with lightning damage. Might do it on my own ultra for PvE shenanigans.

I miss poise casting :( this reminds me I just went to ng+ and respecd to an int build. I was testing the range of the bow shot at storm hill and ever time I started charging I’d get staggered out by a random arrow 🤬
Fallingstar Beast Jaw ended up being my go to weapon for my first build, that weapon art is excellent for stagger in PvE, and its definitely got the most range of any colossal weapon. Cool to see you use it to good effect :)
I have 2 from a buddy drop do I power stance when exploring. Good damage crazy stagger and poise break double fallingstar beast jaw plus medium light armor and high endurance is super fun
I went str/int simply to use the fallingstar beast jaw. That gravity bolt is just insane, 2 or 3 hits pretty much guarantees a poise break for a critical attack, and you can stun lock most bosses this way, just rinse and repeat. You can even stun lock the Fire Giant this way, I beat him second try and I'm not even good, it was only because of this magnum dong of a weapon.
There's so much interesting stuff in this game, I'm really liking Arcane with the dragon communion seal so far. Plus bloodflame on bleed claws can be crazy for pve. Might actually do rapier and seal in main-hand and offhand claws since they benefit more from bloodflame. Should be interesting I think

Well, I wanted to start Elden Ring, now I know what will be my build, thanks ! Also, the fact that you go to your inventory and change weapons mid fight is just impressive!
Amusingly enough, Meteoric Blade has different (and unique?) R2. Its actually very, very decent in pve since it does good poise damage and surges forward. It also looks cool.
I hope the newcomers to this series learn something from chase: EVERYTHING IS VIABLE. Instead of trying to find incredibly broken builds that will leave you helpless once they get balanced, find something you're comfortable using and like the moveset for. Meta isn't real in a game like this and chase proves it in every video. You can be deadly with anything, just learn how to use it. Don't lbe a scrub and limit yourself to the overpowered broken stuff thinking you'll get easy wins because they will get nerfed once balancing develops and you'll be stuck getting your ass kicked now that your crutch is gone. Best to get good now rather than waste time forming bad habits trying to get easy wins
When I was testing weapon damage, I was disappointed to find that on my build the Troll Knight's Greatsword did less crit damage than the Moonveil, and I had my inventory set up so that I could parry-swap to the troll sword since it was too heavy to use normally. After that, I just decided to have Moonveil as the parry-swap weapon, since I don't like using it for normal fighting either because it's too cheesy 😂

hey Chase, with that Troll Roar ash of war you can follow up the roar with a another L2 for a massive executioner smash with the sword. it's also very slow, but it's extremely powerful and you have hella poise through that attack. Was able to pull that off once in pvp and it was just glorious.

Hey Chase! Longtime viewer here and I have an absolute favorite weapon that I'd love to see your take on. The Godslayer Blade, a legendary armament that scales with Dex/Faith, and the Blackflame incantations
I tried using that weapon for a bit. It can be buffed up to some pretty disgusting damage with Fire Scorpion Talisman, Flame Grant Me Strength, Fire buff on wondrous physick; you can get to 1000 AR two-handing it with 40/40 FTH/DEX. The problem is the weapon art is impossibly slow to use. The unique fast R1s are fun; but I kept not treating it like an UGS so maybe that's more my fault. @@crestfallengandalf1623 I oneshotted a few invaders with it when they were being way too aggressive. Pair it with like 50 poise and you'll tank, then wreck em
Great video Chase, definitely I have to try this build. I was trying to do invasions with a pure strength build but I kind of suck at pvp and I only use 1 weapon for both pvp and pve. Looks fun af to invade with a full arsenal though!

Not many boss weapons but I think that adds to the fun because you get to use weapons you don't see much of and use different weapon arts.
The royal greatswords weapon art is one of the best in the game I've used and been on the other end of it and if you time it right just once the match is all yours.
If you have not already looked into the waves of darkness weapon art you really should, It hits 3 times and has a follow up heavy attack that it doesnt really need, most of the time they can only take 1-2 hits and the 3rd is delayed so it catches aggressive players,. it is a great weapon Art I used a zwiehander and with magic weapon had that thing at 1084 Ar and without any kind of skill boot talisman in pve you can hit around 5-10k damage and for pvp if you catch them with it it is almost a guaranteed kill no matter the vigor level
I've always been interested in invading and loved doing it, but I'm just now getting more and more into it with strategy and taking it much slower, I used to rush in and die to groups all the time, now I try to bleed them for heals a bit more so it takes longer but I win a lot more. I'm positive just casually watching these videos made me much better. Still can't pull off any of those swaps though. How do you back out of the menu in one click? Are weapons the primary component of most builds vs armor? For armor are you in general just looking for whatever is the best set you can wear with your endurance/whatever looks cool?
The best armor in the game is the Veteran's Armor set. That's because it's very light weight for the poise that it provides. With the Bull-Goat's Talisman, you can poise through TWO light attacks from the lighter weapons, or 1 light attack from heavier ones.
