Ah ocean trader, shipping coal from Syndey to Tokyo, iron and steel back, then getting ambushed by a willy-willy and watch as ship go down without any insurance... good times.
In trade games, it is better to travel with your cargo hold filled at 80% min. You saw the difference between the coal and machinery run. Affordable gods that fill your cargo hold at 80% or more is better than loading 10% of you ship with expensive goods.😊
I like these more obscure games (obscure to me) that you showcase on your channel. 'Business trading sim' does not sound interesting to me but your video held my attention from start to finish so maybe I would enjoy these more then I think I would.
14:40 I mix Forward Business and Fright Business a little. Fright Business is simply moving cargo for someone else from A to B by a certain date, you don't need to buy the cargo. Fail to deliver on time and you will get sued. Get paid on delivery. Forward Shipping is what we do later in the video, you are tasked with delivering a certain amount of a cargo and then storing it in a warehouse we own by a certain date. Payout will be on that date. We got lucky with only needing to buy rice because it's cheap. If the contract had been for 11,000t of Machines instead, it would have cost tens of millions to afford the cargo, but the payouts are huge! So is the risk, suing can run into the hundreds of millions on these contracts if you fail to deliver on time. Keep in mind, it is unlikely a single port will have all the cargo you need to fulfill a contract, plan your route accordingly.
Here's an idea for a random 1990s strategy game you might find interesting: Floor 13. It's not great, but it is rather unusual. For some reason I owned it back in the day, on the Atari ST I think. I suppose a modern parallel would be "Papers, Please" but it has a different tone: in Paper's Please you're trying to be a good guy in an evil state, but in Floor 13 you are much higher up in the evil state and aren't trying to be good at all (at least as far as I can recall). I can see only one other Let's Play on YT, so it might be something unique enough to be interesting.
This looks interesting. Is this game available anywhere these days? As in, anywhere else than an eventual physical copy for an exorbitant amount at eBay.

Ah yes, especially with the high docking fees!

Yes so do I, they can be quite relaxing to play. Thank you

Your channel escalated pretty quickly for some retro games 😀. Facing 1000 subs 😁.
Thank you, I have been quite lucky with some of my videos
The BGM in this game is killing me
The GFX are quite nice.
Myst called. They want their linking book back :D

Sounds interesting thanks! I'll check it out. Like the sound of it.
Yeah I've got it for DOS, will definitely try and cover it soon. .

You can play it on a website called MyAbandonware, or look into the eXoDOS project if you're into your DOS games.
