"literally saving the game" means that he 'saved' it from a possibly hypothetical situation. such as, idk, something silly like the game itself being infested with hackers who are going to kill it, then rub's rp fended it off, thus saving the game from being killed
It's asinine to use "literally" in the way it was used, just as it would be asinine to say something like "I literally put milk in to my cereal"... it changes the context in no way nor it adds anything to it, it is pointless noise. To give an example of proper use is to say "Windrunner literally just forced a fight..." when they used their force staff to force an enemy hero out of position and get the enemy to team fight that way... ps.
