This is the outright best unbiased review I've seen.. had no clue what he had.. the first impression he had was functionality.. he told what he felt.. then he saw what it was.. great idea outstanding vid.. this should be done for all new firearms

THE most unique first impression I've ever seen. Totally safety focused, but without implicit bias (but you'll still have to go to "bias" classes), you hit the nail on the head for a lot of folks. I had just heard of this pistol. Although not in the market for another pistol, you may have changed my mind. I've owned Rocks and they're first rate. The owner of the company personally discussed the replacement of my first 1911 that had over 5000 rounds on the frame when the flaw appeared. His response was simply "I can make more pistols, but I want to earn both your respect and trust." I was completely sold. . . I will probably buy WHEN (not if) they make a compact version and get it double quick. Especially since Glock mags work and I have many of those...no wait, I LOST THOSE IN A BOAT ACCIDENT...yeah....

“AlumaGlock” with 1911 grip angle! That’s the part I’m excited about. I am not a fan of the glock grip angle.

I’m generally not a fan of striker pistols but the aluminum frame and optics cut has my attention. Well done Armscor.
I’m not a 45 fan so 10mm for the next one gets my vote.

Awesome! A striker-fired handgun with an aluminum frame, apparently well made, entering the market. This is truly the golden era of the wonder 9's. Glock can't keep up with the competition.
The prame it's a aluminum, magazine capacity,17 rounds, caliber 9mm, nice gun.
At least 10 years of glock killers on the market and glock is still making new models and coming out with a rifle. I guess the next 10 years of the new glock killers will be gen 3 copies from other manufacturers. If you cant beat em copy em.
Is it a copy, w/ a MUCH better grip angle than the 17, and better trigger?

Only thing I wished they incorporate into this is accelerator cut/thumb rest similar to p80.
Great unbiased review, bought one for a few reasons, Rock Island makes great stuff, takes Glock mags, aluminum frame, price & warranty, low recoil. The end, Happy Camper.
Note it has a 1911 grip profile unlike glock.

@@jansenvillanueva4686 if you pay $400 for this gun, get a Glock. I have 2 G17 Gen5's and they're lighter and a bit easier overall to handle. The STK100 is by no means a bad gun, but it's a lot of money for a replica in my opinion.
Is it a good gun? I think so. The only issue you may have is a light primer strike easily rectified by a new spring. Good luck

I actually didn't like the blindfold at first. But then I started thinking about how sick I am of fanboys of various high end manufacturers who turn their nose up at the "lesser" brands.
Then I absolutely LOVED this video!

Do the slide rails have steel inserts or is it just all aluminum? i wish people would do a take down of the slide when they do video's like this. Not that they have to do it. it was a very good video just would like more info.
Aluminum frame and fixed carbon steel chassis.

Hilarious blindfolded review. Surprised there was no mention of the two-part aluminum frame. I know the obvious comparison is to a Glock, but how would you compare it to a CZ P10, either C or F? thanks!
glock is going to need to step up their game with all these clones offering better options for less money

@@Acoff I only paid $349 for this exact same gun..In a gun store that does not sell USED guns. It was in the plastic with the packing oil all over it, and listed as new.
Make a 3.5" barrel for the majority, and we'll be in bidness.

YEAH BABY YEAH!!
I have gone through about 20-gun purchases in a year and this Rock Island STK100 has, by far, been the biggest disappointment of them all. BRAND NEW, the three flat head screws, on its left side started to unthread themselves after about 100 rounds, no Loctite on them at all, too much Loctite on the optic site cover, had to use a heat gun to get them off, magazines won't lock in without a good slam, and biggest issue, fails to eject about 40% of the time. AND , I can only get 9 rounds into the 10 round magazines, UGH! The finish looks like third world flat black house paint, and the barrel looks like Harbour Freight's $ 9.99 1000-piece socket set metal. Nothing like a $500 paper weight and a constant reminder of my bad choice. Just have to wait 4-6 weeks for the Rock Island " gunsmith" to spray some oil on it , shoot 1 round , and proclaim it fixed.

Would be great is it had NO cuts in the slide, get rid of the Slide cuts and I'll buy 1 or 2
Slide cuts help with weight. However, if you don't like slide the STK100 is compatible with many after market parts, including slides.

@@ArmscorPrecision Yeah complete frames would be cool. Since you use a proprietary mag release and have your own lower parts just do complete frames for people to put their uppers on. Because honestly that’s the only real selling point you have, your upper is just another Glock upper. Those frames would sell better than the firearm. Also might just be me but I’d rather pay double or triple and have it CNC machined out of a solid block of steel rather than 2 half’s of aluminum bolted together. I’m sure there are many like me who would pay gooooood money for a solid metal Glock frame.

Glock mags awesome but I still will never buy a Glock I would buy a Steyr before that. 100% or a grand power tisas and that's all turkish-made pistols. 100%

The aluminum frame seems like a big miss. Not enough weight to make any significant recoil reduction, just being different for the sake of being different.
Now if they made a steel frame with tungsten grip plug inserts, they might actually have something that could find a niche in USPSA competition with the Sig X5 Legions and CZ Shadows.
