First of all I would like to say thanks for the review. I would like to inform you that the sight plate is already being addressed. Second it’s a 1/10 twist. I check my buttons used in production gun. Second I test fired in the Philippines my hand sweat didn’t have your issues and I shot 1000s of rounds during development. Barrel compatibility it’s not supposed to be full compatible but you can fit a match barrel to the gun. It was never supposed to be drop in. Having said that we are looking at making it easier to use Glock barrels. Thank you again. Armscor alway strives to improve.
Good morning Martin - thank you for taking the time to watch and comment on the video. I'm glad to hear the issues are being addressed. The pistol is this close to being truly special. Regarding barrels - maybe it's a rolling change - the barrel in my example has 1:16 stamped on the test fire case envelope and it's listed in my manual as well. If you guys make a "pro match" version of the gun - I'll happily pre-order one.
Wow cool if thats really him, lols?! Ok if thats really him then kindly take a look of my wishlist for your STK 101 or STK 200 or STK 2.0: - For the love of mother earth dont mold the rear sight on the optics plate please, want a decent proper back up sights if my red dot fails. - Make the aluminum frame a one piece mold please - textured checkering on front and back straps - truly compatible with og glock mags and aftermarket versions too - fibre optic front sight - a bit larger mag release button - pic rail stopper on the frame more recessed to accept other longer weapon lights to sit flush on the trigger guard properly - other sizes compact and sub-compact options - threaded barrel compatibility or directly manufacture it with a threaded barrel already in it ala tactical version - factoring all that but still maintaining more better competitive pricing
@@TheHumbleMarksman bro i think thats the real ceo of armscor who replied to you. awesome your video reached that high up. as a firearms owner from the philippines, i too am looking forward to the second generation of the stk100, and especially when it's cleared for competition use by local competitive governing bodies. if it's as soft shooting as a shadow 2, ill take this as my go-to competition gun. (cz shadow 2's cost 2400 usd here while the stk 100 is 600 usd)
@@jackwicker We didn't have a 17-rd PMag to try, but tried a few other types, some worked, some kinda worked, others not at all. It's not really a big deal considering most pistols don't accept anyone else's mags without modifications. It's just a plus that you can buy mags that are in plentiful supply.
@@GBGuns when you say a few other types, do you mean a few other types of Glock compatible aftermarket magazines or do you mean a few other types of Pmag-GLs like the 21 and/or 27 round pmags?
The gun does accept different slides however the issue is the breach block (mainly the barrel). The gun has a particular block angle that only accepted barrels chamfered at that angle. Outside of that the gun will work with standard glock slides.
Bought one after all the hype videos. Out of the box, failure to eject every time. Cant tell if its the extractor or a headspace issue. The rounds try to fall out through the mag well
Quite frankly it is refreshing to see a video calling it like it is. I see all kinds of manufacturer sponsored videos where their product is better than sliced bread and canned beer. That's an older person analogy BTW. You youngsters can look it up. The barrel issue should be pretty straight forward. Offer it at cost to those who bought the gun already and change it in current and future production. The lack of texture tome is a minor issue given the ease of using something like skateboard tape. I could deal with it. The optics cut is simply inexcusable for a modern production gun. Kudos for thinking to provide it but if it can't work then that simply sucks and really looks bad for the manufacturer. Fixed sights need to be something you can get aftermarket. No excuse for that.
As a Pinoy, I really do appreciate the honesty and valuable criticism of your review to help make the Gen. 2 gun (hopefully in G19 size and a real rear sight) a far better specimen! Thanks for your insight!
I'm just glad you made me realize that the 2 Combat Armory Glock 19 threaded barrels I bought years ago are actually 1:16 twist. I always wondered why they patterned like buckshot compared to ALL my other barrels, which I now investigated to be 1:10.
I’ve personally carry the gun and it works well for my needs. Not disagreeing with the following issue of the magazines; it should serve well enough for carry under basic needs. Hopefully RIA will improve on this concept for future developments.
That's nothing new though. The competition circuit has been influencing guns for a *long* time. If we look at the 1911 for example, the beaver tail grip safety with an extension, broad/long thumb safety that's easier to ride, extended mag catches, lowered/flared ejection ports, checkering on the front strap, various different sight cuts and arrangements available that were never employed in the military, flared magwells, and a host of other modifications that have since become standard fare were all devised for/by competition shooters. Of course influence comes from military and law enforcement as well as concealed carry preferences, but competition shooters have always been something of a driving force as well.
I think what the gun community has understood for a long time is that any group or organization that uses firearms frequently and for a specific purpose will have good input as to how to make that firearm better for that intended purpose.
Great video! Thanks! I have one. 200 rounds no failures. But I have only shot 115 FMJ out of it. It did hit a little low, and I figured to change the front sight, no big deal. I had no illusions about it being a carry gun or a competition gun at all, so no disappointments there. For me, as a new design, it was a novelty and range toy purchase. It does feel amazing. It shoots amazing. It's really odd when you pick it up and expect polymer and it's cold. It isn't even like most other metal pistols as there are no grip panels so the whole grip feels cold. I couldn't figure out what was so different for a few days until I realized that. No plastic or wood grips, the hand is 100% in contact with metal. The side panel texture is brilliant. The front and back are not without texture to be fair, just not down the center. If this is a problem a thin strip of grip tape will help. But the rest of the grip all around is excellent IMHO. To be fair, no other maker has made anything close to this. Inasmuch as it is a Glock "clone", it also isn't if you catch what I mean. Certainly if they come out with a 1/10 twist barrel I will buy one. Other than that it needs nothing for me. I believe the manual states there is a 500 round break in so one need not wonder about that.
Just had this gun a few weeks ago and went straight to the range. It shoots great! I really like that the weight the frame adds. It’s not my EDC, but for a range gun, it’s so much fun to shoot. One thing I hate about the gun are the screws holding the frame together get really oily. I dont over lube my gun, so the oil probably come from my hands? Really difficult to clean the oil from those deep screws, very annoying. But for the price, I have no complaints. Glocks/most firearms here in the PH are priced double than in US. On top of that you have to pay crazy amount for papers, license, permits.. Good thing RIA prices are the same with US prices, so we really get the value of it.
I’m glad somebody finally makes mention of balance. I have always found that to be one of the most important things in my shooting for a nice return to zero over the longer muzzle heavy pistols. But that’s just me. Most folks say I’m full of crap (and they may be right)
I could see where more mass toward the muzzle would be a problem. If there's more weight being thrown about when the muzzle flips, it's going to take more force to control it and make it return to zero. How much of a problem that is will depend entirely on how much kick/energy you're having to control as well as just how out of balance the weapon is.
@@kuuryotwo5153 that's not how it works. your recoil force is the same, your bore axis is the same, so the fliping moment stays the same, a heavier front will have larger rotary inertia which given the same fliping moment it will flip less.
Sounds like the Remington RP9, buyer beware. Graham had his front sight fall off when he started doing his shooting review! thanks for the "HONEST " review!
I’ve yet to receive my copy of the STK100 since I live several kilometers from Rock Island’s manufacturing facility in the Philippines (firearms processing here is slow as hell). I’ll keep an eye out on what’s stated on this review once I got my hands on it since this review actually puts my expectations back to earth since they hyped it here locally when they released it in the Philippine market three weeks ago. If RIA managed to put out a second generation of this gun, I’m hope that they’ll keep the constructive critisisms in mind and apply it..hopefully.
It would be nice if RIA offered a 1:10 barrel for free to existing owners. Say $60 up charge if you buy one of these down the road used or nos for $350.
The videos from PI are on RUclips. They really hyped up the release there. But I suppose RIA is a big deal there in any case. Gen 2? I am hoping they make 1:10 barrels available for this one. To me the grip issues are no big deal, that's what grip tape is for if one has issues with it. If you are that close, why don't you go there and talk to them for us? Ask the pertinent questions. I have a feeling if there are any other barrels to be had you will have first access to them anyway.
For $520 I too would be utterly disappointed to learn that a gun will only work with 115gr ammo, but I would be pretty happy with an optic-ready glock clone for under $300 since most practice ammo sold is 115gr and good self-defense 115gr 9mm does exist. For a little more you can get a p320 or a walther pdp. Hard pass on this one.
Or you can buy the p320, the PDP, and the STK100 for fun....Why buy one? This was part of a 3 pistol purchase for me, and the other two are really well proven. I certainly wouldn't advise such a new design as one's only pistol, regardless of what online reviewers say, so if that's the deal then definitely get something very well proven and established. I got mine on sale, so I paid a little less. Regardless, I am happy with it, it's a fascinating pistol. The way it feels and the way it shoots is really great. Really "un-Glock" to me. I certainly didn't expect a EDC or competition gun. I will be really curious to hear anything RIA has to say about why they chose that twist rate. Seems like a dumbass maneuver. They had enough development time to iron that out I think.
You call balls and strikes. You're not shouting for effect and I don't have to try to filter out your voice from way too loud, oddball syntho pop music. I like that. Subscribed.
Great review. I bought one of these on sale recently and I gotta say I love it, warts and all. I've been gravitating more towards 1911s so I wasn't expecting to like it that much. There's just something that feels special about it. It feels good in the hand and the recoil impulse is just so darn pleasant. Definitely needs some grip tape, though.
It's a great proof of concept. We were all disappointed. Like the machine work on the slide. Nice work but the cut outs are ingress holes for debris. Indicating not for serious use. Like the 1/16 barrel twist rate issue you pointed out. Simple things they missed on the 1st gen. Good news is there's a 2nd Gen coming and STK200 G19 clone. Like your practical style. Good honest review 👍
Thanks for the updated review. After seeing your first review, I started saving enough money to purchase this pistol. I went to your RUclips channel to view again your review of this gun after I’d saved the money. I’m so glad that I did because I found this video. I will now wait to see if RAI makes any of the changes to this gun that you suggested before making a purchase. I’m glad I’m a subscriber to your channel. Thanks again for this review.
I completely I agree, the lack of Glock Parts (including sights, slide and barrel) and holster compatibility, and lack of grip texture on front and rear backstraps is why I won't be purchasing the STK100..... which sucks because I was super thrilled to see an alloy framed 'glock' firearm come to market.... here's to hoping RIA fixes these issues and brings the firearm they should have designed in the first place.
I watched this video on the way home from shooting my ria stk w/ venom. I agree 100%, shoots great points great....but I also had a failure to extract in less than 200 rounds. It's so close to a home run. I'm going to try a glock extractor if it fits and see what happens next. The next generation should be something special.
Also curious if you will do any rifle reviews AK or AR. Again thank you for your service, stay safe, stay fierce, shoot first. Wish I could come to your range and get some tips. Thanks again
@TheHumbleMarksman thanks anyway still appreciate your vids and reviews. in the mood to buy new pistol, curious if you are familiar with lone wolf. I think that's the name it's kind of a Gucci glock.?
That’s why I’m a Glock fan. Especially the Gen 5 MOS variety that accepts my favorite optics: RMR, Holosun 509T and Venom. The Brownells slides have a Zev post and only accept RMR footprint. Thanks for your input and details observation. With ammo shortage good to know some handicap with that pistol.
So, first off, I thank you for an honest reveiw. Secondly, I have never owned or fired a Glock. I got this because I was looking for a 9mm that would fit into my existing setup. I have a S&W in the calibre but, after I built my AR chambered in 9, chose a setup whtat would take Glock, rather than Colt. I was disappointd that P-MAG wouldn,t work unless an extended mag. I feel like this guy shoots great and feels great. I live in hot climates and I get the grip thing, but I have a weak grip, and it still seems to perform. I'm not a competitive shooter, so, if you are thinking about this in that category and you don't hate it, I feel like it's probably really good. My boy at the range didn't resond well the first time we shot it, but second time he liked it. Third time, he damn well looked not just impressed, but happy. You know, when you get a pistol that just shoots like butter... It makes you smile. It made him smile, it makes me smile. I will look into that twist rate thfor sure. Thank you for your reviews.
ya, i purchased one for my business to test compatibility with oem glock parts as well as our own. holy crap, it was a mess. i spent months trying to get the thing reliable with an aftermarket trigger, first off, as the unbranded trigger housing, connector and bar were not consistent with oem measurements, so parts swapping became the name of the game. finally i stuck in an oem connector, trigger housing unit and bar, and it was running. now to the next problem, the slide and barrel. from the factory they fealt rough, and i wanted to build a 34 so i put one of our slides on the frame with a rival arms barrel. again, it was a mess as THM stated, the barrel was a no go, until i took to machining it to fit the lugs to the locking block with the angles that RIA pulled out of thin air. After 3-4 months of shooting and fitting, i finally got the frame to work with a setup that i wanted. now its 100% reliable, but, the effort required to get this thing to be as reliable as it should have been from the start, i wouldn't recommend unless you have the knowledge and patience to get it running.
I'm down with RIA. I own a couple of their better 1911's. Im a sucker for 1911's/2011's, best trigger in the business and beautiful as they are deadly. I was excited to see RIA make a striker fired pistol. Thanks for the review. I'm definitely going to have to try one even though accuracy is key for any firearm.. and this one apparently sucks lol. Great video
As far as KCI mags. I bought two in 2015-16. No issues with either one. I keep one loaded with snap caps for dry fire. I accidentally ran it through the washer and dryer. It still works fine.
I bought one of these for $400. I put a butler creek slip on grip to solve the grip problem. That cost me $10. I managed to mount my Holoson 507k after a bit of filing. The president of RIA said he will send a free plate out of customers call. I didn't want my optic up that high . I may have a Faxon 1in 10 twist barrel fitted but haven't had a problem shooting in door.
Thanks for this review. I have been waiting for some input from shooters/youtubers to determine whether I will buy or not. With the insufficiencies you pointed out, it seems that I might wait until the second version comes out - STK100 2.0. The old maxim from the auto industry seems to apply: never buy the first year of a new model. Wait until the complaints are addressed and then make the purchase.
Shot the STK100 at the RIA/Armscor range yesterday. Needs a bit more refinement in my opinion. And the rear sights means it shoots consistently low. Like 2-3 inches low at 7 yards.
I worked as a patrol deputy for a sheriff’s office that issued the first batch of M&P45s. I had worked for two other agencies before becoming a deputy, and qualified with a Sig and a Glock in the mid to high 90’s, but failed to qualify with the M&P 3x! I was so confused and frustrated why my shots looked like 00 buck at 30 yards, because I had never shot that bad. I did some research and realized it was probably the twist rate (along with the horrible trigger, unfamiliar grip angle, and these were pretty worn out).
My STK100 came in yesterday, and I took it out for a short range test today. All my documentation also indicates a 1/16 twist, but I didn’t have any issues with keyholes or tumbling. The gun did shoot about 6-8” low and my groups were not tightness right I’d like. Out of the 50 rounds I put through it I had four light strikes. It shoots very flat. I got it to have a carry optics gun since my sfx and TAC Ultra FS HC are all kitted out for Limited, not sure I can trust these groups though.
Mine runs all non-glock mags that I have tried. I like it. I don't get to practice often, or if ever, but I was really happy to get this because it was hard to find. I love the feel. It seems to be just what I was looking for. Great review. Thanks for letting me know not to waist my 115 hahahaha. I'm not a competition shooter, not even good, but this was helpful and I hope more people will find this guy bc he kicks ass... The pistol of course! :-)
UPDATE: ended up sending the gun back to RIA and it’s true, it accepts the Vortex Venom directly. Surprised me because the Viper I had tried earlier has a smaller advertised footprint didn’t fit- so the Venom will work. Not the best but at least mine mounted. Spoke with the gunsmith directly and through email several times ( really nice guy) and he checked everything over and discovered my barrel was miss cut and it was replaced not with the original 1:16 twist but with 1:10 twist. Nice they are hearing us and correcting that issue - keep your fingers crossed for the optics plate.
I just put 6 mags through mine. 2 of them were loaded with aluminum ammo. The aluminum doesn't shoot good, so I researched that ammo and sure enough, it isn't "as" reliable as brass. I had no issues with feeding, ejecting, or grouping. No jams! The mags I used are Glock17, ProMag, and MagPul. They all ran without a hiccup. The only issues I had was with the aluminum ammo, and when I switched ammo, it ran perfectly.
my standards are pretty simple- does it fire well without jamming ? Are the sights good enough for center mass targeting? Will it send an evildoer straight to hell if need be? My experience with with quality of Armscor has been that I bet this gun will do exactly what I need.. I am sold..gonna get one as soon as I can!
Thanks for this review man. I do hope they fix all the issues since i would really love to get me one of those. And here in the philippines, the stk is really cheap since it's locally made.
Another great assessment 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Indeed, a promising gun platform, but in trying to distance itself from the original Glock, Armdcor-Rock Island Armory went a bit far, the wrong way. STILL it's very promising, IF only RIA pays attention to constructive criticism like yours. Hopefully so.
Yeah, a few bone headed moves on their part. That optics cut is kinda shade tree. They didn't want to bother with the locator studs, so they do the deal with pseudo-studs at the screws. But then to bolster things a bit they cut the front/rear shoulders tight to exterior of the Vortex sight. NOT the way to do a Docter compatible cut.
I have this one too. I really like it for what it is. Maybe not perfect but most spend extra to improve any comp gun anyway. The features are pretty impressive when compared to like price guns. You can fit another barrel and still very inexpensive, or you can spend $1200-$2000+ for other metal frames and modify them. Just 2 cents but I get it.
Just so you know you can get a glock gen 3 barrel on the gun. You have to treat it like a match grade barrel and file the locking lug and feed ramp. I did it with a gen 3 threaded barrel so I could use a silencer on the gun.
I've just handled this gun at my LGS. I disagree about the grip being slippery. I think the grip texture is adequately done and not very abrasive. The gun balances so well and feels solid. I will hold off on the accuracy issue until I actually do a live fire. I am also very disappointed that the iron sights does not provide any sort of adjustment and the Glock's top end does not fit. The gun has a lot of room for improvement. I surely hope RIA will address these negative issues. I think the barrel twist is optimized to take advantage of 115gr ammo's availability and price point.
I bought the stk100, I do love it but first 400 rounds the guide rod did start to unscrew and the screw in my trigger started to come out, glad I caught that
I have one and I know what they say about the optic being restricted to Venom only... BUT it is also compatible with the Sightmark mini M3. It does have a little rear notch which is a pseudo-like back-up rear sight that actually "almost" co-witness with the optic + front sight. I say almost as one of the issue I noticed is that the sights look misaligned, maybe due to the front sight.
Excellent review. Thank you. Twist: You say it won't stabilize the 124s, but the 115 are good. But then you said it shot the 147s very well. That does not compute. ??
Cheap doesn't always equate to quality... There's a reason must match grade barrels come in a 1-10 twist profile, seems to me that RIA cheapens their barrel in order to maximize profit but then again, who knows... Would be nice to have a Glock clone with a metal frame and a 1911 grip angle oh and of course, a better trigger too! I can envision the aftermarket support to come to the aid of this platform or maybe a RIA upgrade addition. RIA seems to have the right concept, but more work needs to be done~
There's a reason why this mixture of 1911 and glocks never succeeded. You basically get the worst of both guns. 1911 buyers don't like the glock parts, and glock fans don't care for the 1911 features. While it sounds good on paper, it doesn't sell in the real world. Forgotten Weapons talks about this very issue in a video, but I can't remember what it is at the moment. Maybe someone will combine the 2 and become successful, but I wouldn't bank on it ever happening.
What I don't get is people will be die hard Glock fans but get angry at a brand half the price because they don't like the grip? Wouldn't you just modify it like you do every Glock I've ever seen. It's really strange... You buy a $500-$600 Glock that has nothing with it and need to stipple or add grips, add a new match grade threaded barrel with slide cuts, new paint job. But complain about a reliable company that releases an entry level pseudo match grade gun for unbelievably low entry price and not spend half the money for everything they got on their Glock? BTW I'm not hating on Glock I own several and they are good. Reliability of Glocks name isn't enough, in today's age we have amazing brands with everything you could ever want with the same reliability if not better and many do it for half the cost of Glock from factory
You can find these now for $300 to $400 thinking about getting one and just changing out the slide. All my other Glocks have skateboard tape on them so that’s not a big deal for me.
STK100 will not fit OEM barrels and other aftermarket barrels unless doing some major fitting. I have to file off some locking and barrel to make the barrel fit. Ghost connector and taran tactical connector would not work on the gun due to their slide connector disconnect ramp is located backward. You need to modify the slide or trim the connector arm. Timney trigger will not work on the STK100, trigger bar needs more clearance to make it work. After dremeling, I manage to fit the Timney trigger but trigger safety would not work, lack of material on the bottom of the trigger entrance area. I used epoxy and plastic shim to build the material to make trigger safety to work. My OEM barrel chamber was off slightly, chuck the barrel to the latte, it clearly shows me it has straight barrel/rifling but the camber is off. RIA seriously needs to post what is compatible and improve the quality control. What is "90% compatibility" comes from?
I have a 1-16" twist Wilson full fit g19 barrel that puts 150gr syntech into 1.5" at 25 yards. The early m&p shot like crap because of early unlocking. 1-10 twist is better for inline penetration / terminal ballistics.
My thoughts? It's supposed to be compatible with most Gen 3 components, so I wonder if there's not an aftermarket barrel that is direct fit and won't require 'massaging' to fix the twist rate issue. I'm not above doing a little barrel fitting if necessary, but I'd need an AM barrel and STK barrel in hand to determine if that was even remotely feasible. Being stuck with the factory barrel wouldn't bother me too much though, I tend to prefer lighter weight faster rounds so I could live with it. The grip on the front/backstrap being slippery is a little disappointing...but I own a checkering file, and I'm not afraid to use it. Depending on the exact fitment issues with the slide, I could quite possibly say the same for it, though I don't currently own or run pistols with optics cuts so...yeah, a big part of my interest in the STK is to dip my toes into pistols with optics. I could probably run the Vortex and be happy with it for a long time before I determine it needs to be replaced. And with respect to the trigger I'm a little disappointed Rock Island went with a basic Glock trigger. Again, they said Gen 3 Glock 17 components *should* fit, so hypothetically speaking this should be an issue that can be resolved with AM parts. But if they were gonna 'fix' Glock's design, I really wish they had hit the one thing non-glock users complain about second only to the way they point - the trigger. Overall I do still want to get my hands on one, but I really appreciate the in depth look pointing out the things they fell just short on, so I know what will need adjustment when I do stash away the funds to pull the trigger.
Great review, was really looking forward to watching it since you mentioned you were trying the pistol out and you didn’t let me down. Unfortunately the pistol kinda did…
I like it as well, but like i mentioned in my video the rail needs improvement get rid off the slope at the end of it near the trigger guard, I do not like the fact you loose the rear sight and very limited to optic options, but in all it shoots very good.
I can't seem to find anything wrong with this pistol myself I just wish somebody would be honest and say this is either a jump pistol or it's not because unless it's a Glock you got some people out there who will never like anything else but those and then you got people who were Springfield fans and then you've got people that are other fans of this and that I just wish honestly that people would buy what they like and if they don't like these particular gun just stay off of these videos you know what I'm saying I mean I bought one of these guns and I love the look of it I love the feel of it it's not too heavy it carries comfortably I love how it racks I just I love the gun itself and I have no complaints or issues with it so far
Bro... This makes me so sad. On paper I was ready to cheat on Gason Glock and run a clone. If the barrel didn't suck and I could mount an SRO on this, could you imagine the things I could do with it? I may be more heartbroken than you. 😔💔
@@TheHumbleMarksman I don't understand why they messed up so bad. A lot of these complaints are common sense. For example, why the heck is the barrel not simply glock spec? 1/10 twist and in-spec dimensions seem like common sense.
WOW.... what a damn shame..... I was really hyped on this....metal framed Glock clone is something I've wanted since I bought my first Glock 19.3, prior to the Gen 4 being released. They really dropped the ball 'cause they could've absolutely killed the market with this version. On another note.... would you please review a RI 2011 Tac Ultra... the high capacity 2011 9mm/22TCM? I could care less about the 22TCM but I've always wanted the 2011. Just never known anyone that's had one to shoot.

Wish I'd have seen this review before I purchased the STK100. It's in transit to me now so I'm stuck with it. The other 3 reviews I saw raved about this gun. For $360 I guess it'll suffice for now. I REALLY hope they'll come out soon with a 1/10 barrel I can get to swap out. Have to stock up on the 147gr till then.

- pic rail stopper on the frame more recessed to accept other longer weapon lights to sit flush on the trigger guard properly
- other sizes compact and sub-compact options
- threaded barrel compatibility or directly manufacture it with a threaded barrel already in it ala tactical version
- factoring all that but still maintaining more better competitive pricing
@@TheHumbleMarksman bro i think thats the real ceo of armscor who replied to you. awesome your video reached that high up. as a firearms owner from the philippines, i too am looking forward to the second generation of the stk100, and especially when it's cleared for competition use by local competitive governing bodies. if it's as soft shooting as a shadow 2, ill take this as my go-to competition gun. (cz shadow 2's cost 2400 usd here while the stk 100 is 600 usd)
Will a Gen 3 Wilson Combat match grade barrel fit then?
Thanks for the shout out. Ours only fit factory Glock or KCI mags, wouldn't accept other slides, and had a basic but unacceptable sighting issue.
It didn't take Pmags?

You can tell this was planned by how well the camera was set up for my height
Excellent, honest evaluation. Well paced and informative. I really appreciate your approach to doing a video.
Keep up the "good work".
I’ve personally carry the gun and it works well for my needs. Not disagreeing with the following issue of the magazines; it should serve well enough for carry under basic needs. Hopefully RIA will improve on this concept for future developments.
I think the gun community is finally starting to understand that it’s the competition circuit that creates firearm innovation and trends.
*Laughs in Microcompact*
P365: "Am I a joke to you?"
Agreed
Thank you for the honesty, THIS is the STK100 review I've spent a week looking for!
I've shot about 8 full 17 round mags in mine so far. No FTE or FTF. I like the pistol myself and it looks good in the holster I bought for it
Just had this gun a few weeks ago and went straight to the range.
Most folks say I’m full of crap (and they may be right)
balance absolutely matters
Get this man a gun, Gezz
Bro update. Kumusta stk mo?
Bersa tpr full size but the price us better
G3C toro is a great option for cheap optics ready G19 clones
Tough video to watch, hate to see a man with a broken heart.
Shooting it with ammo it liked is sublime - but man they had the ability to really knock it out of the park and for some reason didn't.
Wish I seen this video last week bcuz I go pick up my STK tomorrow. Thanks for the video. Alot of useful info
Did you change the extractor?
@@NinjaJay2447 I did, pulled one from my 34. Only 150 rounds so far but ran without issues
@@stevel7501 Cool. Thanks for the update.

Also curious if you will do any rifle reviews AK or AR. Again thank you for your service, stay safe, stay fierce, shoot first. Wish I could come to your range and get some tips. Thanks again
Howdy! I don’t have access to a rifle range - also I am just a civilian . Thanks for watching
Perfectly fair, well presented, accurate information 👏
I'm down with RIA. I own a couple of their better 1911's. Im a sucker for 1911's/2011's, best trigger in the business and beautiful as they are deadly. I was excited to see RIA make a striker fired pistol. Thanks for the review. I'm definitely going to have to try one even though accuracy is key for any firearm.. and this one apparently sucks lol. Great video
no - it's fine if you shoot 115 grain - it just has issues stabilizing some other rounds.
13:41 I like it, how you shoot with both eyes open and not even blinking
Great assessment. Rock Island should listen to you
As far as KCI mags.
Thanks for the honest opinion because I almost buy this gun.
Great in depth review. Will probably skip this one for now and wait until they address all its issues. Will be getting the Tanfoglio Stock 2 instead.
Love the true reviewing and honest review
The best gun to smoothly miss the broad side of a barn with
I just put 6 mags through mine.
Thanks for this video, i almost bought this gun and you saved me from this disapointment. I'll stick with my p10c
my standards are pretty simple- does it fire well without jamming ? Are the sights good enough for center mass targeting? Will it send an evildoer straight to hell if need be? My experience with with quality of Armscor has been that I bet this gun will do exactly what I need.. I am sold..gonna get one as soon as I can!
Thanks for this review man. I do hope they fix all the issues since i would really love to get me one of those. And here in the philippines, the stk is really cheap since it's locally made.
Oh, so it's a metal KelTek. A really innovative, really good, really fun gun..... After you finish fixing it...
Excellent review, very insightful.
Another great assessment 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Indeed, a promising gun platform, but in trying to distance itself from the original Glock, Armdcor-Rock Island Armory went a bit far, the wrong way.
The sights... Go for the chest shot... nail him in the balls. Sounds like the Rock Island guys have a sense of humor.
This was great review.
All the information needed in one place. When I shot it, I can confirm, it's smooth like butter.
[Stay Safe and Keep Building]
Just so you know you can get a glock gen 3 barrel on the gun.
You have to treat it like a match grade barrel and file the locking lug and feed ramp.
I did it with a gen 3 threaded barrel so I could use a silencer on the gun.
For what? A Glock 19?
It had so much potential
I am waiting for the glock 19 size frame to be introduced. Got the news from Armscor sales rep guys while testing this baby out.
Very honest and informative review👍👍👍
I've just handled this gun at my LGS. I disagree about the grip being slippery. I think the grip texture is adequately done and not very abrasive. The gun balances so well and feels solid.
I will hold off on the accuracy issue until I actually do a live fire.
I am also very disappointed that the iron sights does not provide any sort of adjustment and the Glock's top end does not fit.
The gun has a lot of room for improvement. I surely hope RIA will address these negative issues.
I think the barrel twist is optimized to take advantage of 115gr ammo's availability and price point.
I didn’t think the grip was an issue either until I shot it.
Rock Island Armory is great with 1911 pistols. Thanks for a great review.
Could not agree more. Nice job!
I hope RIA is listening! An all metal striker pistol, I'm in!
Best to ya',,,,!
I trust Rock Island will nail it in the STK200.
I wonder how it would perform with Underwood Xtreme Defenders at 90 or 65 grains.
Reliability of Glocks name isn't enough, in today's age we have amazing brands with everything you could ever want with the same reliability if not better
and many do it for half the cost of Glock from factory
You can find these now for $300 to $400 thinking about getting one and just changing out the slide. All my other Glocks have skateboard tape on them so that’s not a big deal for me.
How you just gonna drop a casual Phuc Long cameo, damn.
Great review! Very objective. Thanks.
What is "90% compatibility" comes from?
glad i stumbled on this video, this gun would be unacceptable for me with that barrel alone.
This gun looks like every glock ever: basic out of the box but made to be modified.
Im wanting the stk too but i want without the slide cuts, not a 2 piece frame, and a larger trigger housing.
3:05 cool camera work with the tracking!
I have a 1-16" twist Wilson full fit g19 barrel that puts 150gr syntech into 1.5" at 25 yards.
The early m&p shot like crap because of early unlocking. 1-10 twist is better for inline penetration / terminal ballistics.
@rowdy boner If you didn't fit the barrel then that is no surprise.
"This is just a video for information and entertainment purposes."
But mostly we're here for the latter. Let's be honest here.
great honest review..hope you can do a review on the kalashnikov sp1 think it's geared toward production and co..
Great honest review.

Awesome review!
Very informative vid. Thank you.
The cheap riton optics are a perfect fit.
Damn the rifling is jacked lol
Great review, was really looking forward to watching it since you mentioned you were trying the pistol out and you didn’t let me down. Unfortunately the pistol kinda did…
I like it as well, but like i mentioned in my video the rail needs improvement get rid off the slope at the end of it near the trigger guard, I do not like the fact you loose the rear sight and very limited to optic options, but in all it shoots very good.
Great review! Really learned a lot!
A Glock17 gen 3 barrel might fit?
Remind me to never let you borrow an optic! 🤣
Fair point.
Sounds like an aftermarket barrel would sell well here and add some grip tape and dawson signts and it's good to go?
Shooting it is quite nice - if it stabilizes the load. It has a lot going for it but man did they mess up
@@TheHumbleMarksman I don't understand why they messed up so bad.
Maybe RIA will fix all the problems in the 2nd generation.
HonestOutlaw did a review on it but after it went to Hayes Customs which honestly is still really inexpensive. All in I think it’s $1600
@@3GunMax Thanks for the heads up mang, I appreciate it! I watched it and was impressed. I'd like a review of the stock gun, cause that kinda dough is tough for me to hang on too....lol. I get t too tempted to spend it on Jeep parts, ammo or other less expensive guns...🤣
@@justinm.791 yeah I’m not sure if you can even find them for sale really anymore. Just picked up an STI (older 2018 Edge model before Staccato) and am officially a 2011 believer. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed if you find one
@@3GunMax One of my buddies has two STI...one is the XC version and brand new in the box...he wont shoot it... the other I think is the same version you have... I haven't shot it yet... not sure I want too.. then I'll know what I'm missing out on..lol.
IM SUPER READY FOR YOU TO REVIEW THE NEW 5.0!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm pretty pumped about that - they're saying February
Wish I'd have seen this review before I purchased the STK100. It's in transit to me now so I'm stuck with it. The other 3 reviews I saw raved about this gun. For $360 I guess it'll suffice for now. I REALLY hope they'll come out soon with a 1/10 barrel I can get to swap out. Have to stock up on the 147gr till then.
Well my original skepticism from the time this was announced has been confirmed. Hopefully RIA can take the criticism and fix all of this bs
Patiently waiting for the revised gen 2
