- My second Ren Video! I can't thank the Ren community enough for your outpouring of love and support. I've had many requests for more Ren, and I fully intend on diving deep down the Ren rabbithole.
I promise I won't always be so emotional, and my channel won't always be serious stuff. This has just been an incredible week, and I'm working my way through it. But whether I make you laugh, or make you cry, I hope I help you in some way.
My second Ren Video. As a veteran and someone who has struggled with mental health issues, I find Ren's music cathartic and inspiring. In fact it was a large part of why I decided to stop procrastinating and do something I have been wanting to do for years, which is start a RUclips channel.

You're doing great, my friend, and I enjoyed this reaction! It wasn't as heavy emotionally as Hi Ren, as you mentioned, but I could still tell the exact point where the song hit you the hardest. It pulled you in so much you couldn't help but sing the lyrics alongside him - it was a magical sight.I hope that with each of these songs, the lyrics help take a bit more of that weight from your shoulders.

At the age of 4 years old, I was ducovered to have a brain tumor. The year before, my paternal grandfather died from a brain tumor. This was in August 1954. I learned back then not to ask, "Why me" Why not me? We have to learn to play the cards we were dealt! If you could give your troubles to someone else, how would you choose who that would be? Any time I feel slighted a parable echoes in my head, "I cried because I had no shoes and then I saw a man who had no feet". The moral is, ALWAYS count your blessings! I hope this gives you a bit of help in dealing with your life. Ren is much better at the inspiration stuff.

They were big when I was growing up but I never really paid too much attention to them other than you know the ones everybody knows like another brick in the wall. We listen to Ren because he wears his heart on his sleeve and he’s ALWAYS himself. So just be you and the people will hang out with you. In a time that’s polluted with fake online personas and videos and headlines etc… just be real. 👍
“Su!cide” and “Freckled Angels”(recorded version not the live) are definite must listen to’s. Tales of Jenny & Screech and Violet’s tale is one of the most masterful storytelling songs the world has ever heard.
There’s a money game trilogy as well but #3 is by far the best and you don’t need to listen to them in order. So much Ren… so little time. Once you get though all his main songs there’s some absolutely beautiful busking performances Ren has done with friends that will blow your mind.
But you absolutely do need to listen to Jenny and Screech and Violet in order. Don't listen to Violet's tale first!
Also, once you find "Chalk Outlines" you will have two rabbit holes to dive into.

Wow, you're really loading him up with the most difficult songs first. I say take a break with the fun stuff. Listen to these hard ones when you're feeling strong. There's no shortage of Ren songs. (I haven't been through a fraction of the stuff this gentleman has, and the songs you listed gut punch me every time.)
Chops, it's said that if everyone was told to throw all their problems onto a pile and then from that pile told to choose a problem they'd rather have, you'd be surprised how many people would reach for yours!. You've been thru the ringer, yet here you are!.

I literally read that quote for the first time _today_ ... Must be the universe telling me something... Interesting distinction : the quote I read said how people would most contentedly take back their own troubles and leave (i.e. in comparison, their own don't seem so bad after all) but the idea that people would pick-and-choose _your_ problems over their own... is an interesting food for thought variation...
A lot of us struggle and find connections through music like Ren, and others that love and understand his music. Legitimately some of the best fans out there, also consider checking out Harry Mack and his Omegle Bars series, the man might be the best freestyler on the planet and there are a lot of wholesome and feel good moments. I'm not surprised your channel is growing, you are very relatable and I just wanna hug you man. The support is here, keep going!

I gotta say you’re on the path now just stay on this path Remember that thoughts and stories we tell ourselves are not necessarily facts. Maybe we cannot push those stories out of her head, but we don’t have to linger in them walk right through it and get to the other side and remember it’s just a story. It’s not fact. I’m 67. I found Ren about a year and a half ago. I’ve listened to him every day since. He’s brightened my perspective and energized me and his music is like a warm cozy blanket when I’m sad I hope you find all those things happen to you too
He's affected me greatly, and the renegades even more so. The outpouring has been more cathartic than months of therapy

These Ren sings helped me take my life back after 3yrs of "bedrotting" with injuries and illness. I looked at him, trying to heal and find such joy in getting back out there, I wanted to try it too. Been through all the Ren song tears, it has turned cathartic. I had to get through the tears these lyrics brought up, but it left me in a better place. His pure humanity and indomitable spirit inspired me.
Even though we're strangers, I just gotta say that I'm so proud of you! You ventured out of your comfort zone and are creating a space of authenticity, vulnerability and compassion. It's a beautiful thing!

That phrase gives me a chuckle for us Gen X-ers. "What am I, chopped liver!". Being forced to eat liver growing up I hate it with a passion. I always thought the shit I went thru was not important cause I saw that some people have it so much worse, so stop bitching Kathy,, I did this for most of my life but one time I had a therapist tell me to stop thinking that way and stop putting myself down, my feelings do count. I feel a huge weight lifted already. It's exhausting releasing so much toxicity so quickly. But it's not all because of Ren, a huge part is because of the community who has touched me to my core

Ren is also an agnostic but he likes to use religious terms in his music because they tell a story, they have loads of symbolism that many many people can understand. It also gives a mysterious and philosophical feel to it, I think. Great reaction, I really enjoy hearing your thoughts ❤

I’m watching your videos with Ren going back to the beginning. I don’t know if you will ever read this but I would like to tell you my story. I’m 60 now with my husband and 4 beautiful adult kids.
12 years ago my Dad died in my arms and a year later my Mom disappeared on the same day and month. She was found 20 days later (I was besides myself with anger and fear). I hit a depression I’ve never experienced before and my life became a black hole. I tried to get out of life but it wasn’t my time yet. I have awful guilt for putting my children through what I was going through. 4 years later my brother was murdured. I then agreed to move to the US with my family. The stress of moving to another country was crazy. I live with chronic pain in mostly operation sites and my back is packing up on me. My knees not far behind.
When I found Ren 20 months ago I was ecstatic. He has given me hope amongst other things. My kids do think i’m bonkers 😅. My Husband is getting used to my wall of Ren in the bedroom. I think he’s happy that I’m happy while still in terrible pain like his song Seven Sins. I’m here for all your Ren reactions ❤

I noticed that you got extra emotional at the same place in the song as I do every time I listen to it. Not so much when he describes his pain and struggle but when he found help and healing. I always cry the most when I see, hear or experience something positive, joyful or beautiful.

Catharsis is such a powerful feeling. It gives me so much strength to keep pushing. If you need more suggestions, someone else I really love is Eli. (with the period) "Disappear" and "Worthless" are great places to start. Bit of a different vibe, but he has a great voice and amazing lyrics. That was the first time I listened to someone and thought, "Man, he gets it!"

Thank you for beiing you, Ren thought me to give closure to the suicide of my godchild. He inspired me to write a letter of understanding and encouragement to the person who had to find my godchild death.... as my life is slowly ending I can relate to the reactor community... you mentioned fakebook, yep that what I call it to..... at night when I can't sleep I listnen to reactors and you already have a place in my heart, hug and kisses❤❤❤

Chris, if Ren is speaking your heart then you may want to look up an artist called Nate - he goes by the name NF. Start with "The Search". Ren started the cracking of my tightly wrapped trauma and NF's music triggered my PTSD but I came out the other side so much better. Take the NF journey, friend. Greetings from Australia!

That's a great saying. I think hurt becomes anger, and angry people hurt people, until they learn to let go of the hurt, then the anger subsides. I've experienced anger in direct proportion to the level of hurt. It's not something I'm proud of. I've got a long way to go, but I'm doing what I can. And, I'm already blown away

Ren doing accoustic and the offical video are often very different so it's worth doing reactions to both. The only one that needs to be the offical (first) is Money Game 2. The accoustic is great but it's only 1/2 the song and you need to see it all if you're doing the Trilogy, which is amazing and well worth doing. (Plus the offical version is amazing).

We may not have been through the same struggles, but the way you felt on your worst day is the same way I felt on my worst day.
Music has always been my "therapy." My childhood wasn't the greatest; as a result I "built up walls" and buried all emotions. Listening to music was what made me realize other people struggle with life, too.
Ren though, has created an ever-growing army of people that are genuine, positive, and support one another. It's amazing.

Exactly! We do want to see genuine human and often relatable emotions and reactions. Too many times we're conditioned to hear only scripted responses "Oh, this is something we've never seen before, oh this is so 'different'" and worse yet hear someone refer to Ren as "oh, that guy."
I think faking reactions takes something that I don't have in me. But when I've seen a million reaction videos and they all seem so perfectly done, It's hard to look at my own and say "yea, that's great". But turns out, everyone has been super supportive so I guess I'll just keep moving forward

Right now, my health situation (possible Cirrhosis of the liver) may have been misdiagnosed as well as the Autism being mistaken for BPD and Bi-polar depression and put under numerous medications that messed up my body. That relief that right now, I am waiting for an appt with the local liver center and go from there. Troubles especially is very connecting to me now.

Yes, welcome fam. Ren's masterpiece performance can be found in "Money Game part 3" for which many think it exceeds the "Hi Ren" performance. Other suggestions: Tom MacDonald's "People So Stupid" or "Dummies" and Nova Rockafeller's "Hey You" or "Lost Girls" if you get the chance. Doin" great brother-man, so just stick with it.

All of Ren’s music is great, but some of it is hard to hear and the feeling lingers. I highly recommend you listen to a song that shows his incredible fortitude so you can draw strength from it, too. It’s called Patience.

Shit is shit mate, no matter who you are or what your shit is; it all makes us suffer and there's too much of it about.
That's why your channel is so important and you don't need to be anything but what you are. Don't do it for us, we'll watch or not watch but I think strongly suspect that most of us love you because of your honesty about what you perceive as "flaws", they're your greatest strengths (in all life scenarios).
Ren has been quietly making his music for years without an audience so we've now got this huge catalogue to explore he created purely for the love of it (hint hint) and there's a hugely valuable lesson it that. Likes can be "shit" for people who let them.
Instead he's amassed a community around him from scratch, because he speaks his truth, without fear or favour. That's taught me a lot.
Keep going exactly as you are and if not many people like you they shouldn't be watching 😆
