As an avid bullstrap fan I can assure you that the butt being out has never caused any damage to my phone. No micro scratches, no anything!
I prefer the exposed bottom. It shows that beautiful leather chassis and the contrasting color of your phone. I hope they never change that.
Tbh, the bottom of the case being open is extremely nice if u have a specific use case. I love using the downwards swipe in order to make the top of the screen come down, with a lipped case this is often not nice to do it or difficult to do, but without a case it feels amazing, and bullstrap basically has it where it feels like it doesn’t have a case on it.
Yeah for sure. I know for some use cases people are going to prefer the open bottom. All personal preference.
Yeah I actually considered this case for my 12 Pro even after having Apple’s leather case because of the bottom being open, since that’s how Apple’s leather case was for the X and I loved it. Still loved my Apple leather 14 Pro cases though.
I agree the bottom being open is a must. It makes swiping a breeze. I catch the bottom lip on my old case all the time.
Great video. Just ordered one for myself in the same color. I actually prefer the open bottom - which the official iphone x leather case used to have - because swiping up from the bottom to open the phone was easier. Small detail, but it made it nicer to swipe up, so looking forward to having that again.
So I’m a die hard Apple leather fan and I have tired Andar, nomad, decoded etc and finally pulled the trigger a few months ago on a sienna bullstrap and it hasn’t come off. I love it and surprisingly I love the open bottom!
I got this exact same color it’s so beautiful. 10/10 case so far I don’t mind the open cutout
Just want to add, I have this case and mag wallet, and the company actually reached out to me when they thought there might of been an issue with it. They replaced the case easily and when I mentioned a tiny flaw in my mag wallet they replaced it easily as well. So while the price may be higher, I do think they are standing behind their stuff so far!

I personally prefer the bottom being open on leather cases. It reminds me of the leather cases of old and to me makes it unmistakably a leather case when I see it. It doesn’t just look like any other case out there, or a knockoff of apple’s leather cases. I only buy Bullstrap leather cases for this reason. I had one for my iPhone 12 and I have 2 (bourbon and black) for my iPhone 13 Pro Max. I will buy one for my 15 as well when I upgrade.

I like the open bottom. Still has the same protection as a closed bottom case. And it makes for easy gestures when swiping.

Thank you for reviewing this case. I've been wanting to get your opinion on it. Butt out is a big no for me. I'm glad I bought the Andar after watching your video on it. Still my favorite case. How do you feel about the leather ring vs metal ring around the camera? I feel like leather may be more aesthetically pleasing, but metal makes me feel more comfortable resting it on that side. I always get freaked out about my case taking damage.
Man this case looks fantastic and the color is even more amazing. I just hate the fact that they slapped that Bull on the back of the phone. I like cases that are simple and don’t have branding. Thats why it is hard to live Spigen cases for me since every corner has something like "Air Cushion Technology....IP14P...Spigen....Drop Protection..." etc.
If the Bull icon was on the inside, this case would have been an insta buy for the price.
I had them all and this is my favorite of the leather brands. The perfect case would be combining this with the Aspen. I hate how tacky the Aspen camera ring looks and it does chip over time. Also the buttons aren’t as good on the Aspen compared to BS. My biggest complaint with this case is the depth of camera bump but the wrapped leather looks much cleaner. Open bottom isn’t an issue for me but for some a dealbreaker so to each their own.
Which is a thinner fit and grip - the Bullstrap or Aspen ?
Are the buttons on the inside of the case covered with felt to prevent scratches on the iphones buttons? Thank you:)

Just pre-ordered a new Bullstrap for the 15 Pro Max I will pre-order at 5am tomorrow.
I wish Aspen had a darker brown like that. I almost bought a Bullstrap case, but that exposed bottom and the minimal camera protection are deal breakers, which is a shame I own their leather bands and I’ll occasionally buy their candles.

Bottom part Unfortunately , Because of Thee Exposed Opening, I Found Myself popping my Phone Back into Case From Time to Time.
I don't know about you, but I do prefer the open cutout at the bottom of the case, allows more accessories to be connected to my iPhone, also it is less prone to be broken if I tend to remove and reinstall it again. Not to mention it is much easier to use iPhone gestures when swiping.
Yeah for sure easy when it comes to swiping but you really don't have to worry about breaking that bottom piece. Haven't seen that in awhile.
With the magnet, would you say it is stronger than the leather case from Apple?

Not gonna lie. I just got my Limited Edition Pitaka Sunset Moment case and it’s awesome! This weave is crazy and comes with some nice extra accessories like a magsafe ring thing for grip. MagSafe seems stronger too!

Exposed bottom isn’t that bad, this case is the best leather case I’ve bought. I got the cloud color… but now I’m thinking of getting that bourbon one 😬

I like the butt is out type of cases, it makes sliding from bottom up so much smoother to get back to the Home Screen.

Honestly I was rooting for this case to but up there with Andar. In my opinion based off your review for this vs the Andar(which I do own), I will pass because of the bottom being naked, magsafe magnets not as strong and the hole for the slider button not being “open” enough for my sausage fingers😂😂😂
They should never stop using the “butt out” cases. And if they do they should surely offer it in the butt out option too lol
It just makes the case feel so much better while using.
For sure and just want to option but the bottom exposed is more comfortable to hold.

I did the stone grey it’s nice in my opinion, the buttons are a bit stiff at first I hated it but have gotten amazing after a couple days

Just got the dune for my 15PM. Also got the matching wallet which I don’t like at all. Apples leather wallet is superior. I’m trying to hunt down a gen2 black leather wallet (with findmy)

I was looking at buying this case. I’m worried about the fit… I hate any movements in my cases.
I don`t like the open Bottom. I stick with my Andar Aspen. The only Problem is that I have 2 Aspen case and I dropped both once and the leather is chipped. I had very bad luck.
Well that's the only catch when it comes to leather cases. If you drop them hard they will damage. Just the life you run with using a leather case.
Goated leather case. Feels more premium than Andar in my opinion.
Yeah that's a strong leather battle when it comes to quality between those two.
The added cost w/ Bullstrap is made up with their warranty process. You get 2 cosmetic replacements a year. Tough to beat and it’s seamless no questions asked. So if you really wanted you could just request another sell it and you have the case for free or at minimal cost.

That camera protection though… that’s more of a red flag for me then the bottom of the phone being open. Unpopular opinion here… but I actually like the bottom cutout look.
