To give some stability you could place a piece of timber that is the same height next to your work allowing space for the router bit to pass but giving support to the router,
These routers are great value, currently £35 on Amazon

I use a footswitch so that I can keep a firm grip on the tool

Thanks for posting this video... how long is the power cable for this?

I sent mine back to amazon because after 30 seconds use, it was impossible to remove any 1/4" bits from the collet without prising them out from above using a screw driver. The body of the router gets hot, very quickly even without cutting wood.

With all due respect, rounding over the edges on a piece of wood twelve times is not a review. There was no in depth review of the finish, no use of any of the attachments and no real care or attention to getting a clean finish on the work.

First one I had died in the first week, seemed like a motor connection burned out. Second one has lasted over a year now, moderate use.
You get what you pay for and I suspect the QC isn't great which leads to some doomed ones being sold. It being a Makita clone is handy since you can make things a lot better with Makita parts, the edge guide from Katsu is a bit crap (but can be improved) for example while the Makita part is much better. Same goes for the plunge base, the Katsu part needs a bit of fiddling to get it working well in my experience.
