The song can be taken in a direction where the lyrics are interpreted as having an over-inflated ego and thinking that one person can think they are higher of a status (or a metaphorical "god") like the character. While I don't think it's exactly false as one of the phrases states "they tell me I'm a god, I'm lost in the facade, six-feet off the ground at all times, I think I'm feelin' odd" (which is where the song can be interpreted from as a viewpoint), the rest of the lyrics contradicts that viewpoint and shows a different meaning as a whole; which is, simply put, suicidal thoughts and messages because of the way the singer is viewed as as a person of popularity. It's not a bad way of looking at the lyrics at all though, I just think it's a completely different path and character representation for what the song had originally intended for it's main morales.

I could be wrong but i think this song is about imposter syndrome. For the context of it being imposter syndrome the lyrics "touch me, midas" is such a genius line. It implies he is 'gold' not to his efforts but to outer forces that are not in his control, which is something people with imposter syndrome feel when it comes to their success. He also goes from someone who is slightly successful and has enough money to be comfortable to someone getting so much adoration he believes he doesn't deserve, he starts to question and lose himself in the process.
