I have the same tiller, with the same problem. I took to a local repair shop but they wanted NO PART of fixing it. From watching the informative video, I see no reason I cannot easily do the repair. Thanks guys ... you saved the say!

Thanks for showing this repair. I really appreciate you showing the key areas and explaining what you were doing and why. I also was glad to see Wally put more grease into the gearbox and a liberal amount. (Greasing the gearbox) was the question I had that brought me to this video set. My tiller is an MTD Yardman (2006) with Tecumseh engine Vs Briggs but the assembly and gearbox is very similar and now I feel confident in the approach. Thanks! BTW, Service Manual says, (paraphrasing) "there is no need to grease the gearbox as it is greased at the factory with sufficient grease for the life of the tiller". Looking inside that tiller (which is not too old or abused), it seemed a little "light" on grease and Wally packed it good. Good videos and good job.

It's always good when you take something down that far and don't have any spare parts left when you put it back together!! Fine job and great little series!!☺

A great series. I will begin to tear down my friends Huskee tiller tomorrow with confidence that at least I know what lies inside, and how to repair the "can't shift" problem. A job well done.

Very helpful. I just purchased a used rear tine tiller and the shift moves smoothly with out engaging into any gear. Now at least I know how to begin the dismantling and repair process. I should save big bucks by making the repairs myself. Thanks for your very informative how to video.

Thanks for putting this up! I have a similar rear tine tiller that I just got up and running. But it was a carburetor issue and it was fun to mess with. I'll have to remember you have a video on repairing the transmission that I can rely on in the event . . . . . (knock on wood)

Right on! Always makes me nervous when I fix something, if it's gonna work afterwards. I ha ve a tendancy to goof things up at times.

You should make a video how to put everything back together instead of cut it and show the end of the tiller final assembled
It would help a lot watching how to put piece by piece it doesn't matter how long it take to do the video

Three videos and the only useful information is, why the shifter was stock and what you're going to see when you open it up. Nothing on gaskets, washers, gears, torch, etc. I willing to bet that some one here is going to try this and get stock.
