This car may be one of the best sports cars ever made! It is so nice to see the Cayman finally get the engine it deserves. No more Cayman complex but it is unfortunate that most of us will never be able to own one. That being said, this car is amazing and it is awesome to see the Cayman finally able to compete with the 911 and honestly, I would rather have this over a GT3.
The only disappointing thing about them is that they won't make enough of them - they should sell as many as people can afford to buy, but no, just because it's an RS, they'll only sell a certain amount to keep them "exclusive" (which their price and performance level already does!) - but still all in, it's great and great that it exists 😀🤘 .

This car is impossible to get your hands on. Porsche only allows buyers who have previously bought an RS. The dealer mark-up is absolutely ridiculous as well. The GT4 RS will only increase in value over the years as this will be an collectable. Porsche can say that they don't have a limited production run but the sad reality is that's simply not true. In this day and age they need to sell a lot of electric VW I.D. models to be able to sell a few GT4 RS's. I'm very glad that Porsche allowed Joe to review this car. You deserve it mate!
The addition of the air intakes makes the 4RS like my 718 Spyder (and every Boxster ever) in terms of that blind spot. Small price to pay for that engine.
What a car! I would have one of these over the GT3 all day long. Not that I would be able to buy either! Such a shame most will be bought just to sell on and make a profit. Would be much better if they went to proper petrolheads that genuinely want to drive and enjoy them.
Porsche Gt3 was double list for an early one. I remember Amari from Amari Supercars had a "25 mile" on the clock car, 3rd porsche gt3 in the uk advertised for 270k. Double list. It was 140k. Meaning that customer got the car early (3rd one in the UK) on the back of a truck and sold it to a used car dealer with 25 miles on it for huge overd.
You've done it again mate! There are cars and there are cars - this GT4RS is stratospheric when it comes to engineering mastery converting to on-road fun and capability. You've nailed this and of all the great reviews you have had the fortune of doing I'm guessing this one felt just that little extra special - and understandably so. Careful - you may now be asked to become a Porsche Ambassador too - I'm sure your reaction at 12:13 would convince a number of people to hand over the money:) I'm thinking this has to be in my garage next to the M2C. Veyrons Mclaren F1s and everything. Immediate connection like an extention of your body only the best single seater race cars give you. Can only imagine what this is like with 500hp and 9k rpm. Heaven.

this cayman and mkv viper acr will go down as best petrol cars ever made, yes the new 911 is faster, same with amg gt black series, p1 lm, huracan performante, aventador svj, but these two just have that SOMETHING about them that while it doesn't make them faster it makes them better in eyes of a true enthusiast, closest thing to them is probably 488 pista, in my country gt4 rs drove prices of base cayman by 40% over sticker while it was only around 10% higher just a few months ago
An amazing road car. Just a shame 99.9% of the people who would like to buy one at retail can’t. Even though Porsche say it’s not limited it’s probably more likely getting a drive in LH’s F1 car than owning one of these.

The gearlever is that way because the gearbox is the 991 7-speed and requires a manual lever to engage gearing. The 992's 8-speed is fully electronic for selection.
Same bit of road that a certain Mr Metcalfe likes to test cars on! What a car that is, I've had the pleasure of enjoying a passenger seat in a friend's GT3RS and the noise is addictive, would get you in trouble very handy!
Thank you for this cool video Joe. As for the dynamics of the car I believe the Porsche GT department goes further in terms of suspension by using more expensive, fancier and racier springs, dampers etc. Basically stuff that's built to deal with hard driving on mean kerbs or circuits like the Nurburgring. So that ability to cope with hardcore situations maybe translates into a relative comfort of driving on the road.
Christian, I think you might be a little wrong in the suspension department. The GT4RS borrowed the engine from the GT3. However, they were not given the suspension attributes of the GT3.
Your comments on the ride quality surprised me, most of all because a vast majority of car reviewers, some quite famous ones commented on the ride being typically harsh on the road, in line with most RS products.
That launch was so good, definitely something we won't get to experience in the future. Well done to Porsche for making another ultimate petrol head's dream car.

I had to turn on the subtitles when you were driving because I couldn't hear you - damned old age - but every time you stopped speaking and we could listen to the engine the subtitles said "Music." I love mine too but….., chasing the pdk around the steering wheel is painful whereas in my Ferrari the pdk was more practical behind the steering wheel. It won’t affect people unless they use in cities with lots of roundabouts what a pain chasing the pdk around when one is going around a roundabout …….
Get yourself a lav mic with a cardioid or hyper cardioid pattern and mount it to the sun visor. That's often how sound is recorded in movies. The narrow pick up pattern will focus your voice and reject more of the engine and outside noise. Superb car though. Holy.

If we would ignore the cost and you had to rank the GT4 RS, GTS 4.0 and 992 GTS RWD manual on 1. Daily ride quality 2. Engine/exhaust sound 3. Driving enjoyment which one would be 1,2 and 3?
Such a great road. I live a stones throw away from it . I’ve often seen you getting set up for the steep down hill right in to the uphill left turn coming away from Charlbury. I use it many times a week and it’s a fantastic road!
