- Body camera video from the Marion County Sheriff's Office is giving new insight into the initial response to a bus crash that killed eight farmworkers and injured dozens more. The driver a pickup truck, who troopers say caused the crash, is facing DUI manslaughter charges.

Judges need to take initial DUI/OWI cases much more seriously. There are many instances of light sentencing or worse dismissed. This is one of the largest causes of death among innocent people.

The BUS WAS CAUGHT OFF GUARD and lost it's normal direction. Had this been a TRAIN instead of a bus, the truck driver would have been charged with "derailment of" the train. It'll be hard to calculate THIS accident well; I'm sure the truck driver didn't "intend" to kill eight people this morning. The announcers seem to not be able to even adequately describe the "movements" behind displayed on the live video cams; "Surely his ATTORNEY can view more accurately and speak more eloquently ...yes?

Amazingly enough, had he not been under the influence of anything that impaired his driving - at 6:30 am - nobody would have "over corrected" & maybe this would not have happened. IF he had been held responsible for some of his prior offenses, maybe he would have grown up & stopped acting like an irresponsible teenager! Still living at home with his parents. Wrecked his father's car just a few days before. Still on pain meds from that accident. Maybe...
@@gapch4047 I was actually talking about the bus driver.. there's no way a truck like that can flip a bus unless he was speeding.. I feel like the bus driver saw the other driver and tried to avoid the crash but made it worse by flipping the bus.. buses are literally designed to withstand impacts from the side back and should be strong enough to take most hits under 40mph.. that's exactly why the kids arent usually forces to wear seatbelts on buses..
@NsyShwl I was also talking about the bus driver. I think he had a reflex reaction to the driver of the small truck wandering over into his lane. As a result, the bus went off the roadway and being very top heavy, it rolled.
