Bran always makes the top 5. Nice linear jump levels. All of his levels could be for TJ. I totally agree with you about the profound stupidity of difficulty ratings for levels for obvious reasons you mostly laid out. And ending with awkward shell jumps. Uh oh, BC’s level actually has waiting at the beginning? I know if a level starts out with waiting at the very beginning, there’s a strong possibility Defman will give the level a blue heart. 💙 At the beginning is terrible, but I don’t think it’s as big of a deal for a choke room. You know all too well about the spawn jankiness of cannons from the million or so reuploads of Final Component. Which Roger cheesed again btw. But at least I got my great reclaim setup for Thwomp Forest Bandits from that cheese. Aurateur actually beat Thwomp Forest Bandits and actually Liked it on stream despite being annoyed with a couple parts. Perhaps because BlockBoy told me he was playing it and I went to watch and Aura knew the creator was present at his steam. Thankfully Panga made you leave the level Final Component in place. What is that torturous New Soup Speedrun and how did something so low effort make the top 5? Glen Reacts is very fortunate to have made the #1 spot. Tears of the Mushroom Kingdom was still better and more deserving, but it do be that way sometimes. Let him know I’ll have his level by the deadline! Yes Glen does make a lot of hold right in his levels. His setups are Stretch Armstrong. I know Peeka wouldn’t get that reference. Or know what VHS tapes are. But we do. That one setup was very confusing making you think you need a shellmet. Who knows what the intended Strat was? It’s always painful to go out in a way that could be considered unworthy of a hero like missing the spin jump on that Pokey, especially for a long section with a checkpoint. How did such a level get 1% and end up in the top 5? Did someone who was aware of the creator maybe beat it over and over going for WR? WR would be a game of milliseconds. I can’t believe as technical as that level was, and requiring the technical expertise for speed strats of someone like McFixit, this level somehow reaching the top 5 must be an aberration.
I had several stretch Armstrong toys growing up! Those were so fun. Eventually they would rip and leak corn syrup. Final Component was an experiment, and yeah the fact Panga played it is why I left it be at version 7, lol. Glen said he's working on making fewer stretched setups for his levels going forward. The 10s speedrun has only been cleared by me, Mcfixit, and 5 different players from Japan. So the 40+ clears on that level are from the same people playing it over and over and running up the clear rate. I'm still so thankful the speed strats got explained to me, I wouldn't have been able to figure that stuff out on my own. Doffy sent me some good info on Discord about slope speed strats too! I love the community in this game! Aurateur came across one of my old kaizos (not a TS level) and Liked it a lot. Someone sent me the VOD, it was a couple years ago. Always nice to see him play something you made. As I recall I inspired a couple setups in Thwomp Forest Bandits... and other levels going as far back as when I made Iggy's Shell Hole. Nothing wrong with taking inspiration from something as long as it isn't blatant copying.
@@Affinitia Oh yeah do you remember that red creature that was Stretch Armstrong’s nemesis? I think I broke that one too. Yeah, I remember the corn syrup. I’m glad that Glen is finally starting to see the error of his ways with the stretched setups. We’re all guilty of them at one time or another, let’s be clear. But forcing the player to unknowably make a jump with hard hold-right max momentum, that can’t be done blindly, is not the way to go. Let the player see what’s coming up next.
@@Affinitia Yep. Dolph1n was very pleased with the polish of Kackle’s Kastle when he played it for his recent video. So I really need to keep it up! But even that level had a part or two that wasn’t perfect to some players. I should make another level for TS before long with the same level of polish. The story about Final Component (and all its previous names) is a fascinating one. Your re-uploading was finally stopped by Panga playing it because there was nothing on Earth that was ever gonna stop you from re-uploading until the main attraction could not be cheesed. Seven re-ups. But really, do you think anyone who didn’t see Roger’s clear video ever would have known or figured out that cheese? That’s a question I often ponder.
Yeah I think 99% of players will just do it as intended, same way Panga did. The cheese requires an awkward full reclaim vs shell jump so not a big deal. Looking forward to playtesting your next TS level!
gg im so happy i got #1 and man i really need to stop the hold right stuff im trying to but its what im use to ugg and how the hell did the speed run get # 2
Lol the speedrun was awful, but I loved your level! The hold right setups don't bother me much, but it's nice to acknowledge these things and make an effort to change. Great level and nice work!! 😀
I was so scared that I'd have to leave a white flag on the top 5 SE! McFixit definitely pulled through! Doffy also got back to me and sent some good info about slope speed strats!!
As dumb and annoying as that TA level was, beating it probably gave you more satisfaction than any other on this weeks list..! You could argue that feeling warrants the ❤
Yeah very true! It was a great sense of accomplishment! I checked that level tonight and it has 43+ clears, but it's only been cleared by 7 different players. So the clear rate is being inflated by 5 different Japanese players since McFixit and I were the other two. 😅

I do remember the red guy too! Great point about the blindness of stretched setups. We all just want to be better makers and players.

Great job for persevering on that level and seeking out strats and learning. Such a great player!
I appreciate that! Always fun to learn something new, regardless of how daunting it may feel at the time.

Always fun levels except that 10 seconds speedrun, keep posting videos it's fun to watch
I'll keep it up for sure! Thanks for watching!! ✈️
GG goatfix it. Fun video. Damn those hold right setups are so annoying. Cool levels overall.
