This video, and all of the reaction videos on this channel, transform the original material from entertainment into education. The original content that is “reacted” to is analyzed by a musician who is now disabled and uses the performance to highlight technique and further discuss all aspects of the music making process.. In addition, musical theory and style choices are also often analyzed and discussed.
While the video does use the entire song (as things such as vocal endurance and song structure must also be considered), there are many pauses. In addition, often the original content is examined to further explain the musical process. During pauses, the reactor goes into detail on how sounds are produced, and why or why not they are good, or if they’re are particularly difficult to make or play.. The pauses often last a long time, so much so that this video cannot be considered a replacement for the original material. A link to the original video is always placed in the about section, and viewers are encouraged to watch it without pauses and commentary.

This was a solo John released. My daughter won a big singing contest in Melbourne singing this song. I didn’t know it was one of John’s until she announced before singing.
John sings around 16 different genre’s of musics. Richard Marx made 4 video’s seeing how many ways John could sing. He said that John has the greatest voice on anyone alive anywhere but us Aussies already knew that. John had permission from his wife Jill to kiss Livvie once a day for 3 months. That is how long the main event concert toured.
If you prefer Rock. Try Black Dog by Led Zeppelin. You won’t find a live version or a video version because John never recorded it. John used it as a sound check and warmup song. We are so happy his sound guy recorded it and if you know Led Zeppelin’s version you will love John’s.
    Thank you.

Lifelong friends and a genuine love and respect for each other, John is celebrating his 50th (I think) in April this year. They also preformed at the opening ceremony of the 2000 Olympics in Sydney sing Dare to Dream. This concert was called The Main Event and was a huge tour that also included another Aussie Anthony Warlow and the concert was awesome, pick any song from the concert and you won't be disappointed. For John another awesome concert was with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and note worthy songs to listen to is Playing to Win, You're The Voice, John's cover of the Beatles song Help and ACDC cover of It's a Long Way to the Top if You Want to Rock and Roll, cheers

John Farnham and Olivia Newton John their careers started about the same time in Melbourne Australia the late 60’s . So they have always been friends but it took about 30 years for them to work together with this concert The Main Event in 1998
Obviously in the early 70s, Olivia moved on to capitalise on her success in the United Kingdom then the USA . John wasn’t so as lucky with the international success because probably he had zero intentions of moving away from Australia to build up any lasting profile .
John did major USA tours while with Little River Band from 1982 to early 1986 and had major success with You’re The Voice hit the top ten in Europe but number 1 in Germany & Sweden which John did many European tour in the late 80’s into the 90’s .
John Farnham is a legend status in Australia he has out sold all the big name international artists domestically within Australia he has even out sold The Beatles here in Australia.
With three octave range John can sing anything .
Even in the mid 90’s he warmed up sound check with Black Dog - Led Zeppelin song .
And give he’s more harder rock trained 2 guitarist the late Stuart Fraser & Brett Garsed chance to really jam .
John has only sang Black Dog once in front of an audience there’s only audio recording available .
    John’s biggest hits are
    1. You’re The Voice 1986 . This lyrical depth earworm revitalised John’s career beyond anyone’s imagination, it was totally unexpected . And ahead of it’s time in how it was recorded .
    2. Age Of Reason 1988 . like You’re The Voice another song with very strong lyrics and message , it is also John’s personal favourite .
    3. Sadie The Cleaning Lady 1967 at 18 John then known as Johnny Farnham was marketed for all age groups as clean cut variety pop star , that sang pop and novelty songs this is one of those novelty songs . It was John’s debut single and even how corny it was the song end up being most successful Australian song domestically for the 60’s . John jokes about he loves to hate the song .
    4. Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head - 1970 a cover of BJ Thomas’s hit song John’s version out sold the original in Australia.
    5. When Something Is Wrong With My Baby 1991 ( with Jimmy Barnes ) this Sam & Dave soul classic was recorded with another Australian
legendary singer Jimmy Barnes for his soul music tribute album Soul Deep in 1991 .
    4. Burn For You 1990 a beautiful simple ballad written about missing his wife while on tour .
    5. Help 1980 originally a classic Beatles song but John took it rearrange it and made it his own . John live version with Melbourne Symphony Orchestra is available on RUclips . John’s Help is on the same level as Joe Cocker’s Have A Little Help From My Friends when it comes the covering the Beatles.
    6. Pressure Down 1986
    7. Two Strong Hearts 1988 both songs radio friendly pop rock song that was hits within the top 5 in Australia
    8. Down On The Border 1983 ( Little River Band ) this song was John most successful song from his LRB days . It was also LRB second most successful song in Australia at the time release .
    9. One 1969 originally by Harry Nilsson the 3 Dog Night but this young John Farnham version is the superior version in Australia .
10 . Every Time You Cry 1997 ( with Human Nature ) recorded with Australian male vocal group Human Nature .
    Honourable mentions
Playing To Win - 1984 John signature LRB song it’s the only LRB song John continued to perform every concert since leaving that band in 1986 .
When The War Is Over 1986 another LRB song but originally an Cold Chisel song another classic Australian band .
That’s Freedom 1990 another radio friendly pop rock song with a social conscience massage .
Chain Reaction 1990 acoustic rockabilly apparently about growing up in the 60’s .
But this song originally released in 1980 by John written by Graham Goble from the Little River Band 2 years before John joined the band . Graham regards Please Don’t Ask Me as one the best songs he ever wrote , and he wrote LRB’s massive hit Reminiscing .

❤❤Your reaction is just the start of something beautiful. You will soon discover John Farnham is a National Treasure in Australia. And is still the most awarded and well known and loved entertainer we've ever had. With a career spanning 6 decades, with number 1 hits in every decade, there's something for everyone. His fans span 4 generations. From grannies to grand kids and everyone in between.
His catalogue of music covers the most heart wrenching Ballads to high energy, kick ass Rock performances. He is amazing to watch Live and is also a bit of a comedian and Aussie Larrikan.
He can sing just about any genre of Music from Pop to Rock, Musical Theatre to Opera, Country to Blues and Soulfull R&B.
He has perfect pitch with a huge belting range and never hits a bum note even when singing live.
And all before auto tune was even invented.😂
Check out some 80's and 90's classics like You're The Voice, Help (with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra) Playing to Win, It's a Long Way to the Top, Chain Reaction, Age of Reason, See the Banners Fall. When Something is Wrong with my Baby Duet with Jimmy Barnes. 2003 version of When the War is over..
Reminiscing with the Little River Band from early 80's ...and there's so many more ...

(Takes notes) Fair enough. Lessons learned. Backing up is a bit tricky with our equipment, but we shall figure it out. It was't an easy song to pause! John's a vocal beast! Thank you for watching.

John and Olivia have been friends since they did a variety show in the late 1970s. John has been married to Jill for 50 years this month. Olivia was married to John Eastman many years.

John can sing anything . His version of Lead Zeppelin's Black dog is better than the original and it was only a sound check. Does ACDC to and then goes all the way to opera with Grenada with Anthony Warlow .

I’m surprised you don’t know Olivia from the movie Grease , with John Travolta ?

I am familiar with Olivia Newton John, and was before this performance. Start movies, commercials, I remember let's get physical. Hi. However, did not know she was from Australia. Honestly, I never really pay a whole lot of attention where the artists are from. Not that it is an important. It just isn't important to their music to me personally. Now, at that being said, I have grown to absolutely adore the love Australians have for their own artists.
Also, Australians are just really good people. Real down to Earth. Good old boys and girls. Her truly epitomize the saying, do unto others as you would have them do unto you unto you.
      AussieArmy is my term lol

@@DannyLeeOGT Thank you Sir, but I am an honest man, or at least try to be.
We Aussies are fundamentally the same as everyone else...... we have our good and our bad just like NYC, politics and the lawyers..... er, NO.... scrub the lawyers. They are all criminals 100 % of the time. lol
Our difference is we have the Irish and inner London sense of humour but no IRA.
We do have bloody big egos though and we KNOW that we are the best at everything , even lying. lol
