Straight into it, no bullshit, here's 10 games. No stupid intro or music or anything love it, thank you so much
A fun one that students absolutely love to replace hangman: Draw a person on the whiteboard who is falling into the ocean with a parachute. In the ocean, about to eat the person, is a shark. The person is wearing a backpack with ropes that go to the parachute. When a wrong letter is guessed, I delete a rope. When the ropes are gone I delete the hands, and if the ropes are deleted then I delete the parachute and drag the person into the sharks mouth. Students absolutely love it and it's a lot more customizable than hangman. You can change the shark for other animals, the students can draw different parts of the setup (they add some really funny touches to it), and you can make a backstory for why they are about to fall into a shark's mouth in the first place. We also like to say that the person parachuting is one of the students and the class is trying to save each student from getting eaten, which adds a really nice personal touch for everyone where they are working together to save themselves and their friends
I draw a volcano 🌋 with some houses near it. Every time they get a wrong answer the lava edged closer. It works well with 2 teams too if you put a house on either side of the volcano.

Some excellent suggestions for zoom meetings! When playing "hangman" with young students, I call the game "guy smiley." Instead of a noose we just build a guy with a happy face when guessing correct letters. Much more appropriate than hangman
We use a flower with five petals and two leaves. Each incorrect letter can either lose a petal/leaf or gain a petal/leaf depending on whether you choose to start with a full flower or just a stem. This represents seasonal change instead of violence.
@@nikkicarson1579 the same here! I use guys on parachutes and if the letter/ answer is wrong his strap is cut= erased.
Still killing someone, but somehow a bit funnier. I like it.
I play "don't sink the ship." Draw a big boat and make 10 spaces on it for wrong letters. After 10 incorrect letters the ship sinks.
Yes! I’ve played some of the games you suggest here, and they really make a big difference! Thank you!
New ESL teacher in the making, and thank god you shared Baamboozle... saved my life with my class tonight!
"Touch your eye... Don't touch you're eye." Haha, love it.

Thank you so much! The switch to online isn't as intimidating anymore with these ideas.
It’s definitely more tiring at times - class management is different online, but I got the hang of it fairly quickly.
Thanks a lot. I'm a Math teacher and preparing an online class for the whole semester. Regards from Indonesia 🇲🇨🙏
Hahaha! Great suggestions thanks.
I got my kids to wash their hands and then we played a game to wash other parts of the body. They laughed so hard when I said "wash your eyes." They went on to suggest wash your mouth!
Just what I needed, thank! Last week before the Christmas holidays coming up and I always try to play some games...not so easy for adults sometimes! But this helps a lot!
Love this! Thank you! My students will sure love the games!
The best online resource that I've found for ESL games.
Hangman is absolutely great for a large group of students, as well as different riddles. I had 60 and more students in one class and all that activities could be a real help for a teacher.
My university classes would start with hangman as people trickled in, though it did devolve into 200 young adults screaming "GOAT, IS IT GOAT?" for every iteration and every lesson...
"hangman sucks"
Subscribed immediately. Great video, you're just a good normal guy. No outlandish movements and constant fake smiling like on VIP kid videos. Just straight to the point, great stuff mate.
Thanks. I don't really enjoy being on camera so I just want to get the points across quickly and go away.
I did too!
Thank you so much. This was exactly what I needed!
Really handy. I'm a volunteer with the Hands Up project delivering sessions to children in Palestine. This has given me some ideas for easy games the kids will love :)
Lots of love and light for you 💖💖💖

I will definitely be using some of these with my students come spring thanks alot!
Hangman is definitely not my favorite game, but it's the only game I've gotten to work well over Zoom in my situation--I have large classes and the kids usually don't turn their cameras on.
Thank you! This has given me some more ideas to use.
Well, next week I'll be starting our free trial EFL class. This is helpful. Greatly appreciated.

hangman is awesome! if the sentences are long enough they will easily be able to get it, and i find it keeps their attention pretty well.
Thank you for the great ideas. :) You've made my day.
Glad you like them!
This is awesome! Thanks for sharing!
I play a hangman a lot, they really love it. But instead of a hangman I draw a smiley face, so no cruelty
Just brilliant! Thanks so much for sharing 😍
What a great video. Thanks. It really helps me in my sunday school class.

Thank you for these ideas!
omg ive been searching this for years thank you so much
Love the game suggestions, will definitely try this. thanks
Thank you so much!!!! I really appreciated, you made a hugh difference. you are so creative!
Thanks for the ideas! I don't like 'hangman' either - way too violent - so I do it differently. Rather than draw a bit of a person about to be hanged on each turn, I begin with a drawing and erase a bit each time they guess wrong. My drawings might be a snowman (find the word or phrase before he melts), or a chocolate easter bunny (find the word before he's eaten). My Grade One students love this game and they've become very good at quickly identifying letter combos and sight words.
ruclips.net/video/u179bxwIZBk/видео.html Here is another idea for game points (not just hangman). This one is good if you have 2 teams.
Such great resources! Thank you!♥
So helpful!! Thanks!!
Obrigado from Brazil, my dude!
Instead of "Hangman" I draw a picture of a bunny or elephant and as the kids guess "wrong" I erase a piece of the animal or object. You can also do it where as they guess a right answer, you draw an accessory onto the animal like shoes or something. It's been great fun and the most requested game!
I got my version called sharkman. I draw a pic of a man with steps leading down to a big shark. The kids love it.
OMG thank you so much for the suggestions you shared! Now, my students will enjoy more the classes Lol
Your video was pretty helpful. Thank you very much!
