Great example of a larger sensor is not the ultimate with a smaller aperture. Lx7 shines on the low light. Also depth of field looks better due to the stellar 1.4 abilities.
I am glad I didn't sell or give away my LX7. I owned a LX100 Mark I and found it a nice piece of jewellery; it looks good, feels good but not exceptionally better than the LX7. The reason I sold the LX100 was that it was just too heavy as a travel camera. The LX series of cameras started off as high quality travel cameras with good night time shooting capabilities. I wouldn't call LX100 and LX100 Mark II travel cameras anymore given their weight.
None of the cameras are held by hand they are both screwed on a tray using a tripod mount. The camera with brighter image is the LX7 the darker is the RX100. It is an image in the mirror so it is inverted, all along the LX7 is on the left side and RX100 on the right side of the picture
The LX7 has a brighter lens than the RX100 whose picture is darker. When there is strong artificial light both cameras take time to adapt, this clip is not ideal to evaluate how a camera manages exposure as I point directly to the lights and then you have clipped highlights
sony just announced the rx100mII will be out by july and it will be $748...40% more sensitivity to dimly lit situations compared to the original....a hotshoe for ext. flash or EVF.
at 0:26 I can see in the mirror that you are holding in your right hand the lx7 and in your left hand the rx100 yet on the video comparing the two you've swapped them around...you marked the left part of the video as lx7 and the right as rx100. Which one is which then?
Pour mieux faire faut attaché les appareils sur un support commun car si la personne a une préférence pour une marque il peut faire plus bouger la caméra ou simplement les 2 bras amortis pas de la même façon les mouvements des pas
This may sound like a ridiculous question, but can you compare the iPhone 5 (or higher) video quality to the Lx7? I'm pretty deep into iPhone video/photography and I'm looking to step up. The GH2 is a few hindered out of my price range, but is AMAZING. On paper, this LX7 should blow an iPhone out of the water, but with good lighting I'm not so sure. Any opinions on strictly the clarity and detail of the video compared to iPhone? (Manual settings are important to me too, but unless the clarity is obviously better, I'm not interested). Thanks to you or any other commenter! Hint hint ; D
What do you want to achieve with this video, it was secret agents you were filming, so you had to add the blur Please write what camera you think has the best stabilization
That was not the idea of the video. As you can see both cameras have decent stabiliser but they behave differently. What is more appropriate for you depend on what you shoot.

I have an RX100M2 on order. Having looked at some of the test card images I think there could be an improvement there but will post back
Both cameras seem to have problems where a giant blurry spot sometimes appears.

gregory the two cameras are mounted on a tray with screws so they all move at the same time

Iphone has small sensor, small lens and ... do i need to continue why LX7 is better than Iphone X?
