I'm supersized you don't use the mechinoid factory to make things like components and many other things. also a very good mod to pair with SoS2 is cryogenic generators, they make power but also make the area around them cold, I use one on my ship to store food but also dissipate heat
Don't have that mod installed, also blowing up other ships is getting me hundreds of components and advanced components per combat, so don't really need to waste all that space for production
They vanish when they leave the ship btw while it's moving maps. Had the misfortune of it happening to me on my first playthrough of the new SoS xD
