Wonder what doing a wood elf/fey playthrough would look like? Just random thought that popped into my head. That then got me thinking of an old dryad mod (which came out before Rimworld dryads were a thing) and I know there are some wood elven courts in the 'world' you based this in. Actually that could be kinda interesting and thematic for a playthrough. As the threat of death/undeath wanes Life rises up unrestrained, becoming the next big threat as it fills in the gaps left by the casualties of war. Nature, angry at how the world was defiled, seeking to drag civilisation down to a more primitive time. As crusading wood elves and fey seek to destroy/capture keypoints in order to isolate and force a regression/breakdown of society at large... Maybe with a focus on taking out outposts of the arcane fold (due to the cause of the defilement being magical) and destroying the capitals of the other major 'order' factions in order to force them to fracture. Then a playthrough after that playing as one of those fractured nations as you attempt to reunite your nation while also building fortresses along the border to force the wilderness back once more. While also watching the reunification/rise (and fall) of other splintered nations on the world map. Thinking the theme should be tech progression and maybe steampunk as you attempt to reclaim the knowledge that was lost. And one after that where you play a noble trying to make a name for themself by expanding one's nation past the fortresses into the wilderness, with the unforeseen consequence of running into other nations doing the same, as well as pushback from the fey/elves. Or you play a young elven court that is having to deal with this expansion/brewing conflict. Not sure on theme, but maybe magicpunk or arms race, allowing you to 'advance' the tech level of the world thematically. Though if going arms race might be interesting to do a later playthrough as the elves again who've been pushed back and must somehow use their relatively primitive technology and connection to nature to fight back against the advancing armies of advanced technology, ending in some kind of ritual that changes the world. Not so much wiping the enemy out as simply upping how dangerous it is in later playthroughs. powerful animals and plants proliferating due to the ritual, or take it a different route and have it so the elves screwed up and accidentally tore open a rift to the hells in their capital and now the people have to survive a literal demonic invasion that spreads across the world as the playthrough progresses with factions being willing to do more unsavory things as the wave of demons approaches in their desperation. Ending with you doing a ritual to either escape the doomed world and start afresh or go religious themed and call upon angels and other celestials to come save the otherwise doomed world. Brain ran off with me here I think.

lol I got into the habit of double checking the playlist every few videos just because youtube would be wildin' out every now and then. Literally just manually sorted things yesterday and today they are crazy, so it's nice to a get a clear example that youtube just does what it wants sometimes, no sense or order ... think it's fixed ... for now

can't train it for release, maybe because I ressurected it without training it(?), so kind of have to zone it to get it in the right places or drive it manually

You have the weapon stats mod. Its the tab left of the quest tab on bottom bar.

Apparently the Alps are reskinned Ghouls. When you clicked to tame it a thing popped up in the top left saying the 'Ghoul' has a 100% chance to attack lol
With that being the case it's even crazier that it works for people without anomaly lol

So i know how to save world now ( for real this time) so frist open options once you there click open save data folder when you there click rimworlf by ludeon studios click config and templates now hide the window close options click mods click on world edit 2.0 then advanced and open folder once there click defs, open the templates window and drag yours world save into defs now close both of the windows and reset the game once you did that click new colony pick the scenario and your world after that pick your story teller settings and settle once you there will noting but fog its okay click escape and options enable dev mode and open debug actions menu search fog and click disable fog then disable the fog on your screen now save the game and open mods once again disable worldedit and apply wait for the game to reset click load game and load your save click load anyway and its gonna work

Do you think fire might stop the troll regen? When I play the overhaul mod I hide from lindworms and trolls behind walls until I am much, much later in the game xD
oh maybe wont stop their regen, but could keep them running around stupid like pawns do when they are on fire! Excellent suggestion!
Can you upload your mod order anywhere?
If you hit up the Google drive link on the mod collection my config files are posted, one should have the mod load order if you drop it in your config folder. Or you could grab the Save file and load it, that'll prompt you about restarting with the right load order
Vanilla plants expanded mushrooms would be a good mod for this run as it offers a bunch of different mushroom species for different resources like a cloth substitute.

Trolls in the mod are insanely hard to kill, I’ve had colonies wipe when one spawned

The expensive guy and the necromancer were two different people... The necromancer slave was about 700 silver cheaper than the other guy you tried to buy (perhaps partly due to the other guy being marked as "join as colonist"? idk if that's a factor for pricing). These things happen lol.

Thank you for pointing out yet another neat mod for the endgame. I've been looking for a reason to collect all the relics and that's a cool new endgame to try out. I just caught up with the series and I'm excited for this run! I did a profaned playthrough a couple months ago (built a big gothic mansion) so I have a few tips. Don't read if you want to figure it all out yourself! The coffins you start out with had a fun interaction with Redmattis' Vengeful Dead. When I lost some early colonist, one of the dead in the coffin would come back to (un)life. Without that mod, I didn't see those coffins do anything but provide recreation/meditation focus. The lightless emperyean is lit, probably so you can still grow crops. It rains a lot though, so the sunlight doesn't affect your colonists. The undead creatures do not need to sleep, eat, and are immune to diseases and infections (you'll still get a message they were infected but they actually won't be) and you can draft the wraith, colossus, dragon, skeleton, and ghoul. The undead cat can be trained to haul along with the others, which is pretty great. As far as combat prowess: skeletons are really easy to mass produce once you get the second research. Skeletons are cheap and have an alright range and accuracy for their ranged attack. Ghouls are strong melee fighters. They were my front lines. Wraiths are fragile and have a short ranged AOE attack. TBH wraiths weren't worth using in combat that much because they are so fragile and the friendly fire they cause often does more damage to my pawns than the enemy. However, you need to tame wraiths so you can harvest from the to make your lightning sources. I never really used undead colossus because I'd only tame them so I could slaughter them and process for their hearts. Those hearts are used for the advanced and really, really cool weapons and armor at the highest tier. The undead dragons look awesome. Their attacks are AOE and cause extreme amounts of friendly fire. Their attacks will one shot multiple colonists with a single blast even with decent armor. I'd keep the undead dragons far away from your colonists. My attack force was 40 skeletons, 30 ghouls, and a dozen wraiths. I didn't even get that much lag, probably because they didn't have sleep or food needs. Undead creatures create a lot of filth and they're always wandering because they don't sleep, so I ended up zoning them out of a large part of the base interior. I didn't see them clean, only haul. The other undead creatures of note are wargs, shades, and lemures (spelling?). Shades are pretty powerful, so if you can safely tame them, go for it. They are melee fighters. Undead Wargs are neat but ultimately are pretty fragile and they can't be drafted, so ghouls are better. I didn't get lemures but they pack a punch. Lemures and shades can't be crafted. The undead horses are very good as mounts and fetch a decent price when sold. To craft these creatures you'll need the ritual circle, bones, profane soul gems, and some sort of leather (different for each creature). You'll need to split between butchering humanoids (for human leather) and making their bodies into soul gems. FYI, the one bug I've encountered is if a body gets reserved for turning into a soul gem and it rots, the pawn gets stuck carrying the body back and forth infinitely until I dev destroy the body. I didn't experiment with the alchemy potions because they required colossus hearts, which I was using for weapons. They sound interesting so I look forward to seeing if you make use of them.

I remember some of my old necromancer playthroughs with RoM. Undead don't improve by themselves but the more you upgrade the spell the better future undead can (potentially) be. I always kept a stockpile of bodies to resurect, then line them up to check on their skills and kept only those that fit into roles the colony needed.

Hey, just got recommended this video. Since you’re also modifying the profaned mod, I was hoping you could help me. The undead dragon from Profaned seems to have a messed up wildness and it shows up as 0% in game. In the code its wildness is defined as 0.8. Would you know how to fix this? I like playing with the profaned mod as well but that has been an issue for me
I haven't encountered one yet, but I spawned one in and the wildness is showing 80% for me. You might check to see if you have any mods or settings that might be changing this outside of the profanded mod. I'm not sure what it could be. When I feel like I've tried everything, I'll go in and delete my config folder, this folder has mod settings from every mod you've ever installed (if you don't wipe this folder regularly) that needs to store local settings, and sometimes those unneeded configs can really bork-up your game. Warning though, back up any config files you'll want in the future.
@@beeteedubsgaming Hey, I looked into the issue a bit more after your comment and it looks like there is a missing wildness value in the the Patches which is causing the problem. It seems to only activate when any of vanilla expanded's VFE mods are found, which is why you didnt have problems. Thanks for checking for me, I was able to figure out its a Patch issue since only some people had issues. It's an easy fix of just adding the wildness line into the dragon's section in the patch xml file, so if you ever face the same problem that might be a good place to check.

Yes! I might have a mod that makes the stone colors a bit different, but I did use granite for this build.
