The smaller steps during roughing are compensated with a higher milling speed. Compared to a machine tool, our CNC milling machines thus achieve almost the same metal removal rate. Another advantage of this milling strategy using smaller steps: The aluminium block is already brought much closer to the final dimension and shape of the desired component during roughing - thus saving time and effort in the following fine machining!
