I am not “from Kentucky “ I am from the deep country of North Carolina, one of the original 13 colonies. I appreciate that you took the time to teach this, and I will be learning how to play from you. You’re the man.
Damn Dude!! as a harp player that plays all minor stuff, harmonic minor RUssian Folk and East euro /Gypsy stuff. you just expanded' my horizon' thanks Bro!
You all probably dont care at all but does anyone know a way to log back into an Instagram account? I was dumb forgot my password. I would love any tricks you can offer me
@Caden Josiah Thanks for your reply. I found the site thru google and im in the hacking process atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Fantastic lessons, Ed. Much appreciated. Have you done any lessons on how to incorporate some improvisation into the melody of a bluegrass song? I'm curious how you go about spicing up the basic melody of a bluegrass tune and am also curious if you always play in 2nd position. Thanks
Hi mark, 🙏 thanks! Take a look at my worried man blues lesson. Depends on the tune, my fave is 2nd but 1st and 12th work well too and other positions for minor tunes. Cheers
@@TheHarmonicaBarge thanks so much anyway for the lesson!! And while searching for it, I discovered the Nitty Gritty Dirt band. Very grateful for that!
Nice explaination of modern bluegrass but the origins are deeper rooted in Irish and Scottish immigrant folk music. True Americana. Not many know that the term "redneck" came from what the gov would call the Celtic moonshiners that wore red scarfs and would head to the hills during the whiskey rebellion in Tennessee and Kentucky
Its a very interesting history, thanks! One thing I wonder- was it ever called Bluegrass music though before Bill Munroe? It would've been 'Old-Timey' or 'Hillbilly' I presume? Ed
bill monroe definitely invented bluegrass, genres named after his band. like you said, he was taking all these forms of folk music, the scottish and irish fiddle tunes, blues and the banjo from southern black culture, gospel music, to create his own style of pop music that also focused more heavily on soloing. pretty similar to the creation of jazz in my opinion.
the British are always soooo far ahead of many countires in musical intelligence and genius...it's the truth. even when compared to American musicians they are 20 yrs ahead ...they just 'get' music...its something in the 'british' DNA...
lol every era of british music since at least the 20s was directly copying what america was creating…jazz, then rock, then more bluesy rock, eventually disco…try again

@@TheHarmonicaBarge thanks so much! I'll check that out.
